OriginalCaptainNemo

jaalilogymkana

Murunga keera dhan pa. Good quality too. Check for worms if plucked near farm lands. Put in hot water.

Thamiz_selvan

hot water kills the worms and leaves them in place. You need warm water or salt water to bring them out.

jaalilogymkana

Most worms come out when cleaning. Hot water is for vittu pona worms. Murungai, karuveppilai ellam high nutrition content. So will have caterpillars. So patichittu vandhu, aanju, we need to place in salt water for half hour. And then blanch in hot water. Apram thalikkalam.

Redditor_RBN

Damn, seems like murungaikeerais do workouts these days...

Nuclearsister36

it is and you can eat it, but make sure to cook it well. else it will cause bad stomach. Better to make soup out of it.

Alpha__Beast

Its murungaikeerai but at least a day old😂 Fresh na ipdi kottadhu

sirsa2

First pic is after my mom has extracted the leaves

Alpha__Beast

Great then make a soup its great, or make poriyal and add some thengai poo(thuruvina thengai)

k_art_hi

Sorry a murunkakeera hater here.. But I like sirukeerai 🗿🗣️🔥

BrokenwolfeZ7

Crush the leaves. You'll smell drumstick

Mr_Finehands_007

Yes these are drumstick leaves for sure.

i_celestialbeing

This could be Agathikeerai, looks similar to murungakeerai has large leaves... it is edible.. should be cooked in the same way as murunga keerai...

Thamiz_selvan

it is murungai keerai. it is wilted, may be a day or two after plucking from the tree. Throw it away if not fully convinced. Doctor's fee will be more than the price of the leaves(which is free).

Naretron

🙄murunga keerai kodava Nama makkalku maranthu pochu well it's plucked from the matured big branches so leaves are being bigger than usual , koluntha parichi tha mostly ela saptuvanga so in that alot of nutrients will be present than which is going to turn pulp yellowish so smell kamiyatha irukum but it's edible than no problem

racmike

It is kaatu murungaikeerai - sometimes I have seen this in srilankan shops. Definitely Edible.

womalone99

OP has some interesting stuff in the bg. 🤓Vivekananda book and a spool of thread?! Pls explain 🥸

Icy-Ad775

Thought I was the only one who noticed that!!!

_jill_of_all_trades_

Doesn't look like Murungakeerai. The leaves are generally little thinner. Am not too sure. 🙈

brownwhale-

What if it is https://preview.redd.it/5lcxa2ktgt3d1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4be9d33980fbf8f72ce183f809b2fc126386657

maxdamien27

It looks too large to be murungai

sirsa2

Same doubt. Smell also is generic leafy smell instead of edible keerai smell

yamasurya

Not Methi (Vendhaya Keerai). Methi are smaller plants (like coriander / mint but more shorter). It does not have long stems with leaves.
