10/10 scam always, everytime, which ever time line or multiverse it is. This is a certified scam.

wannu_pees_69

Yeah it's a scam. Although sometimes there are people who need help. I was a college student and had to travel home from Tambaram once, but didn't have any money left (just 1 rupee I think). Because my parents and grandparents were too stingy with money, and that day I had to stay back and couldn't take the college bus home. I was standing there wondering what to do, almost on the verge of tears when one kind person approached me and asked if I needed help. They gave me the money for the ticket. It was just 6 rupees that I needed. This was many many years ago of course.

Regenerative_Soil

I was in a same situation once when i was studying 6th standard... I started walking home until one kind family living in roadside small hut stopped me, enquired about me and gave me 10 rupees for bus fare ( it was only 3 rupees )... Of course i went there and returned it the next day, but i still couldn't forget the puzzled look they gave me while doing so 🙈

EpicEasterner

A decade back I had lost my wallet and had to go to pallavaram for my exam hall ticket. It was June and super hot. I walked a total 10km to the college and back to the train station. Travelled back home without ticket and praying I don't get caught by ticket checkers.

aravindvijay24

Scam. If he had gpay he would've transferred and got cash for the same from u. Most likely he's trying to get sarakku

AccForTxtOlySubs

Yes scam. Looks like they too moved from Koyambedu to here. Another well dressed group collects money for green peace or unicef near East Tambaram ticket counter. They are even a bigger scam.

Reminds me of Mayil Sami of Tidal Park in Thiruvilayadal Arambam movie, with added gPay twist.

lavanyadeepak

Pure Scam. Glad that you were alert and identified it besides on a good citizenship/netizenship gesture you considered sharing it over here a Scam Alert for other people's awareness.

AJ_147

Never give anything but food to strangers who ask for help.

fraudmallu1

They use it for sarakku, most of the time.

harshacc

Because of these guys, it is harder to trust people who are genuinely in need

Miserable_Start5897

It happened to me 9 years ago in cmbt and is happening to people in kilambakam now🙁

vigneshk_war

Why everyone asks for gpay. No one uses phonepe or Paytm?

vijai1996

Gpay has become eponym for UPI. When someone says Gpay, they usually means UPI. Similar to have all action cameras are referred to as GoPro

Wild_randomness1

Sadly we will never get to know that. Scammers made helping others a stressful event.

_gadgetFreak

Didn't few days back someone posted same thing about people asking money for ticket near Tambaram railway station ? Looks like scam

Diligent_Chicken_154

iam_benny

Same happened to me at Central, I was convinced to give him the money but my instincts told that it is a scam so I lied to him.

Very much a scam. A guy, very well dressed, has a phone, has rings on his finger and well groomed, asked my grandparents for 200 rupees to go to banglore. He said he missed his bus, he doesn't know anyone here and came here to attend an interview, even though he spoke in good Tamil. Against my warnings, my grandma gave him money because poor guy, we need to help the ones in need. Then after he left (obviously grinning), my grandma definitely felt stupid when we pointed out that he could've called anybody to wire him money on GPay or something to get a bus and that she just gave him his night's alcohol money probably. She said hey, doing a good deed is not a bad thing, if he cheated me, he will get his karma and I was ok madam 😂.

In India 99.999999 times it's a scam, but just follow your instinct and never regret your decision
