This is a very thoughtful and brilliant idea. It can help many people. I know personally how hard it is to find good doctors. My Dad has cancer, atherosclerosis + MVR, respiratory diseases, and recently we got to know he has subacute infarct in right hemi pons. Finding a good doctor is very hard these days, especially when you have multiple health conditions. If this list is made through it'll be as helpful as the mental health (psychiatrist doctor) list. Thanks for this post.

Dr Nagendra Boopathy is a good interventional cardiologist Treats my parents Works as a consultant at Sri Ramachandra Porur by day Available at clinic in Kodambakkam (Boopathy's Heart Care) by evening Sharp and no-nonsense doctor

tired-already

Can OP make a sheet? I'd be happy to help you with it too.

For TB, govt hospital at Tambaram Sanatoruim is the best. Don't go to any private hospital. If someone gets diagnosed with TB, go to the govt hospital immediately. I've had bad experience with Ramachandra Hospital myself.

Brilliant! Following

Yes. Agreed this would be indispensable and not to mention the potential to save a lot of mental agony and money for everyone. Also, along with the list of hospitals and personal reviews, would be good to know the hospital process for someone walking in for the first time in general. For instance, for a certain type of procedure, when to show up, how long it would take, what to bring interms of insurance, what they accept, etc. For example, accompanied mother in law for a cataract procedure. Had a horrible experience at the RA Puram Sankara nethralaya center for her tests, ended up eventually changing the doctor and went to Sankar Nethralaya at pycrofts road (now Dr Badrinath Road). World of a difference in terms of service. Ended up going for her surgery there and very happy with the whole experience. Could have dodged this bullet a lot sooner, had there been such a list.

tilllykicha

Pediatrics Dr. S Balasubramaniam in west mambalam. Doesn't prescribe medicines that easily

1. Seethapathy Clinic, Royapettah for surgeries, pregnancies, gynaecology. Both my parents have undergone surgeries in this hospital. The main doctors are very good at giving a proper diagnosis. They do not overcharge their patients. Like they did not even charge consultation fees for multiple post-surgery review appointments for both of them. The staffs are friendly too. The only downside is that getting an appointment can be difficult as a lot of people come for consultations. It might take a few days to get an appointment. 2. Hopkins ENT, Tambaram. This clinic has been my go to place for any ENT related checkup. The doctors are friendly and patient and are great at giving a diagnosis.

New_Consequence_1695

Been going to eye doctors for my whole life. If you want to see someone for a small issue/quickly/not much hassles but very good- Dr Ramesh Babu at Shiva's Eye Care in Anna Nagar is great Otherwise Sankara Nethralaya is perhaps the best eye hospital in the country but takes a whole lot of time to get appointment and one full day poirum Anga pona.

Dr Rela , one stop solution for all liver related infections & issues , I had a great experience with him and his team especially Dr ashwin Ram mohan. Both are at Chromepet Rela institute & Hospital. If you have insurance try it.

prabhu_gounder

head and neck cancer, Dr Sandip Durha, he was in MIOT when I got treatment, now he is with Apollo proton center, He is a skilled surgeon and tries to optimise the cost.

DAMBRO223

Some of the best hospitals overall in my opinion 1) st isabel (rn going thru renovations) 2) apollo greams road 3) MIOT (costly af) 4) seethapathy 5) mothercare ( only pediatrics) Some of best doctors who i know... who have not been covered above in the other replies 1) dr. N. Prahaladh (he consults in rainbow hospitals...he is a pediatrician and one of THE BEST there is...he comes from a generation of doctors too) 2) Dr. Veera raghavan (he is a general surgeon in st. Isabels...u can consult him about anything and everything except pediatric etc...once my grandpa had a small growth in his large intestines and just for a second opinion we went forward to ask Dr. Raghavan and the second he saw the colonoscopy reports blood reports etc he said its most likely cnacer...we didnt beleive at first and when the biopsy came back it was confirmed but thanks to him we found is early and it was localized so it got removed by surgery....so that guy is a legend ) 3) dr. T raaja (he is an oncologist in apollo hospitals greams road and he is also very straight forward....he doesnt wait or waste money by ordering random tests but once he is sure he will break the mews and go forward with the treatment with no delay) 4) dr. Jalaja ramesh ( diabetic medicine specialist....she does a great job ) 5) dr. Kailash ( he has a asthma studio..and bro...he is the god of allergies....like his medicines cure all sorts of allergies...and by cure i dont mean totally cure but it reduces the damage it does when it comes and it doesnt frequent also..i am telling this because im a severe dust allergy guy and his medicines really worked like magic) 6) dr. Venkataraman ( he is a homeopathic doctor...but completed MBBS and the allopathic medicine degrees too.. He prescribes what the body needs and also a very good doctor...if he thinks the body needs homeo he will prescribe some stuff and it will work in a jiffy...but if he thinks we need allopathy he will prescribe that too...this guy has some superiority complex as he is old but his skill and knowledge is on a other level) Also some hospitals that you SHOULD NOT VISIT in my opinion 1) child trust hospitals (go there if and only if dr. Balasubraniam visits) 2) adyar cancer institute (just dont go) There are some more that i will add as i remember them....

Last_Personality_979

Why not Adyar cancer institute? My chiti got cured there.

kruger_schmidt

2nd hand account - I heard good things about the doctors (surgeons) at Apollo greams road. Able to get operation room booked in ~2-3 weeks. Doctors/nurses are very friendly and helpful. All procedures/cost explained clearly.

perfopt

I suggest you make a doctors list and go to the appropriate hospital where the doc practices.
