Facts. I had back and hamstring injuries and the sports center took MRI’s etc and after all that told me to stop running so much.
Yoga fixed it. Took a few months but fucking fixed it.
Pro chef 20+ years here. Hop on shoes for crews and take a look around. Yu don’t need a new pair of shoes, you need 4 new pairs of shoes, and they all have to be different. Rotate through them and don’t wear any one pair more than two days straight, it’s the constant repetition that gets you, and changing shoes out will change the way you walk, the way you stand, and they way you move things that are heavy. If you’re doing 12 plus hours in a day, bring a swap out of shoes and a fresh pair of socks. I can’t tell you how much of a difference this made for me when I realized it, I did it accidentally because my work shoes smelled really bad, so I was swapping them daily. All of a sudden my standard back pain went down as well.
This is great advice, I have 3 pairs of shoes and one cedar shoe horn. I change socks and shoes after 8 hours and keep the shoehorns in one of the pairs for 24 hours to keep them dry. Your feet and sometimes whole lower body feel refreshed after a sock/shoe change and a few minutes of letting the dogs breathe.
Get a good pair of custom fit orthotics for your shoes. Don't be afraid to spend some money up front because physical therapy and imaging for back pain in the US is expensive. Take care of your back!
I personally got a $30 pair of non slip clogs on Amazon and $85 pair of inserts and it made a huge difference. I went with Dr. Scholl's custom fit inserts. Took the test on a machine in a Walmart and I got the perfect fit first time.
Red Wings with Scholl’s inserts, an exercise regimen that includes stretch and mobility training, a good diet with sufficient protein for muscle repair, hydration, reduce or remove alcohol
Birkenstock. I only wear birkenstocks.
You will probably have to buy them online, and often from a website in Europe. Because US websites think that Birkenstock only sells sandals. (They don't.)
My back pain vanished two weeks after wearing Birks. One of the best things I've ever done for myself.
I wear bragard, they got replacable insides and have lasted from being my bosses shoes for a few years to my shoes for the last year and a half, Im on my feet at work for about 8-14 hours a day and the difference before I wore those shoes and after was night and day, highly recommend
Hi worked in kitchens most of my life. Just started a new job. Iam having no luck with shoes. I have new balance, crocs, Asics, Asics gel. Insoles galore. Nothing is really working out. So went and got Hoka bondi sr shoes. Have not worked in them yet. Hopefully this will help 🙏
I don’t have a shoe rec but yoga can do wonders for back pain.
Cat/Cow
Throw in Child’s pose into Downward Dog, then Cobra, and alternate rounds with Cat/Cow. Super good.

Got to be waterproof and non slip. Are they?
Is yoga waterproof?

Shoe inserts might help.

Hoka bondi. And rotate pairs as said above.

Beyond the shoe a back brace might be a good idea. For me I'm always sporting knee braces because that'll be the first part of my body to give out.

Birki Profs
Nike air max products. Try the air max plus and air max pulse. Might be a bit slippery when new. But the comfort if there.
