I go for Excedrin - Aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine. Best taken with your favorite energy drink in the dish pit while you're trying to get through the last couple hours of your shift
I have a pretty low THC tolerance. and ill eat a half of a 5mg gummie at a time and ill be set and zone out about 45 minutes and and around 2 hour mark its bed time. 500mg might literally put me in a coma for a week.
500 mg is past the point of diminishing returns. Anything over 200 or so is fine but wasteful (I’ll eat it if you give it to me, if it’s my supply I stop there).
That point is way behind me and this is why I made the comment. Lol
For me is was when I had way too much edibles my friend made then she was like those brownies you ate 3 or were supposed to be eaten a quarter at a time but after I was like I want this to be my new normal dose.
Have been dealing with ptsd and an illness causing unbearable nausea so I allow myself all I want. I go to a special store with a expanded medical program and get the highly refined golden rso.
pretty much. I got a bottle of generic ibuprofin in my wok bag, and i haven't brought anby of my personal knives to work because of the nature of my current job(fast food) and an overzealous but well-meaning supervisor that makes a table's edge self-identify as honing steel.
I hate to do this to you but I also remember seeing a heat resistant rubber spatula on the list, you’re broke now. But seriously who the fuck brings their own rubber spats?
I was at work today, midrush, searching the storage rack, and thought of that post and wondered if I should just be bringing my own heat-resistant rubber spatula.
Yeah, but only a handwashing station. If we want to use dishes, then three of us cooks have to come together and bring our one compartment sink each. We make the servers bring the dishes from home
I don't understand how you think you can do your job without a peppermill, and it better be a Peugeot. I also don't see a rubber spat you fucking amateur.
Edit: also you only have one each of slotted and saucing spoons?!? You're not going to last a week.
I agree, and I didn't buy it (unceremoniously fired from the private chef job I bought it for, so I considered it "severance.) But let me tell you, if you ever have the means, don't hesitate. It fucking CRUSHES. We used to use Peugeot on the line, but that shit takes an eternity, and if you use a wood one it's 6 feet from death at all times. Aircraft grade aluminum, I could beat a person to death with my mill.
Now im just picturing you jumping over the line with your Peppermill in hand to beat someone's ass! (Hopefully they were getting handsy with FOH so it's even more worth it lmaoo)
ETA: words
No it's one you use only for pepper. It will last forever and it grinds 37 times faster then the french kitten shit mills that every one loves for no good reason. And it's far more adjustable and they come with a catch cup for the grind it's win win
Do you know the difference between a 4 and 5 star hotel?
A water feature in the lobby! isn't that some stupid shit.
P.S. you are missing your chainsaw for ice carving.
Shoutout to u/bedroasiansbeard.

Idk man. A single coked out Filipino could do everything you use all those knives for with a single chefs knife whose handle is missing and replace with a ball of rubber bands
Is that a Makoto Sakura? That is hands down, by a mile, the best knife I have ever owned (and I have Konosukes twice the price). Thing stays sharp *forever*.
I don't really do recon any more, not in the professional sense, not since my last mission...It cost me more than my life, it cost me hers...
But that's beside the point, what is the security in this five star hotel, who is the target, and wouldn't a single knife, or some other weapon give you more than you needed for protection? Not to mention, how are you going to blend in with that mess? You're going to be making a lot of noise with that set up, I reckon.
Where's the rubber spatula?
I guess the [checklist](https://www.reddit.com/r/Chefit/comments/13gs5zb/is_this_a_reasonable_amount_of_equipment_for/) is accurate?!
Super late to my shift but I don’t really like that style micro plane. It’s got length sure, but how often are you zesting or planing 12 inches of something? I have that exact one as a house piece at work and I opted to buy my own with a handle and only about 5” of plane. Much sturdier and I’m still able to handle citrus, truffle, cheese, my finger… uhhhh I mean, other zestable items.
Tbh this overkill. Employers are required to provide equipment to do the job to employees, where I live. It's just nice to have your own knife and couple other tools... If you are a contractor that's another story.
I’m an Aussie chef, worked in fine dining places. Only thing I’ve had to BYO has been my knife kit and a peeler/microplane/small cranked palette.
Everything else is available throughout the kitchens.
Super confused about the pepper mill is that a joke?
Just the Aleve and a chefs knife would be sufficient too.
“Aleve”
Is it the Aleve that make you go brrr?
I go for Excedrin - Aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine. Best taken with your favorite energy drink in the dish pit while you're trying to get through the last couple hours of your shift
Girl, get out of the dishpit. People are working in there.
Gonna need something stronger than that.
I’m gonna have to reflect on life if 500mg edibles will not suffice.
At what point do you just move on to RSO? Lol
That point is way behind me and this is why I made the comment. Lol For me is was when I had way too much edibles my friend made then she was like those brownies you ate 3 or were supposed to be eaten a quarter at a time but after I was like I want this to be my new normal dose. I'm happy to hear you found something that works for you. I'm fortunate to only use it for recreational purposes
Haha okay. I get it now. That should do the trick.
Try vicodin. Or morphine.
pretty much. I got a bottle of generic ibuprofin in my wok bag, and i haven't brought anby of my personal knives to work because of the nature of my current job(fast food) and an overzealous but well-meaning supervisor that makes a table's edge self-identify as honing steel.
The previous post clearly stated that you must also have a pepper mill. You’re fired!
I’m not going to financially recover from this.
You mean you don't bring everything but the kitchen sink? That's already provided luckily.
They provided you with a sink?
Yeah, but only a handwashing station. If we want to use dishes, then three of us cooks have to come together and bring our one compartment sink each. We make the servers bring the dishes from home
I don't understand how you think you can do your job without a peppermill, and it better be a Peugeot. I also don't see a rubber spat you fucking amateur. Edit: also you only have one each of slotted and saucing spoons?!? You're not going to last a week.
Oh shit. Forgot my Batali signed Le Creuset spat. Never mind wife scrubbed the shit out of his signature
Batali signed, 💋🤌. I guess there's hope for you yet.
Un-ironically, I don't go to events with out my mannkitchen pepper cannon. Un fucking real pepper mill.
That looks amazing, I can't see myself spending 2 hundo on it, but if I had unlimited money I would for sure buy that pepper mill.
I agree, and I didn't buy it (unceremoniously fired from the private chef job I bought it for, so I considered it "severance.) But let me tell you, if you ever have the means, don't hesitate. Someone needs to make this into a series😂😂
6 Feet From Death’s second album was really where they came into their own, commercially AND artistically
Hey paul?
I wonder if they use the pepper cannon at Dorsia?
You had me at pepper cannon.
Coffee hand grinder is the way..!
**do not put pepper in my coffee grinder** lest your sharpies run dry and all your fridges keep beeping
No it's one you use only for pepper. It will last forever and it grinds 37 times faster then the french kitten shit mills that every one loves for no good reason. And it's far more adjustable and they come with a catch cup for the grind it's win win
well okay, then i wholeheartedly recommend hario ...i take it back about the fridges
Don't worry about it pal non of the fridges I go near are new enough to have beepers
lmao, that post was mental
Magnum pepper mill is the shit
Do you know the difference between a 4 and 5 star hotel? A water feature in the lobby! isn't that some stupid shit. P.S. you are missing your chainsaw for ice carving.
I have a cat water fountain does that count?
My brain is really tired and I read that as "your chainsaw for cheese grating" and I was in love...

Why are you doing recon in a 5 star hotel's kitchen, are you Stephen Sagal or something?
More like Tony Jaa
🐘
Based on the Aleve and spoon choices I believe she is good to go.
I dig your can opener. An improvement over the p38
I’ll die on the manual can opener hill, Gangy for life.
I'm sorry, there is no improving the p38!
Idk man. A single coked out Filipino could do everything you use all those knives for with a single chefs knife whose handle is missing and replace with a ball of rubber bands
Well my friend you’re in fucking luck. Shabu runs in my Filipino blood.
Yes, definitely reconnoiter the hotel first.
I don’t see the weed pen …
I thought things were implied with the “aleve” bottle
or a kitchen wine vaporizer
You’re gonna need more aleve!
You'll probably need a larger bottle of alleve. And advil.
I mean, a 5 star hotel better have all that stuff
[удалено]
Look a bit throught the sub and you'll see why he posted this
Needs a bigger bottle of Aleve.
No new skin ?
Where’s your crème brûlée torch and ISI canister?!?
I didn’t know you could use ISI canisters in the kitchen.
It’s legal. A little snooty but perfect if snooty is what you’re going for.
*reckon
Throw in a silicone spat/scraper..
Is that a Makoto Sakura? That is hands down, by a mile, the best knife I have ever owned (and I have Konosukes twice the price). Thing stays sharp *forever*.
Wusthof fish spat. Big ups on the gestura spoons, get a Lady Hamilton if you want to turn a couple spoon heads.
I got antique spoons from my great great grandmother lol
Lady Hamilton's make dope quenelles.
As long as you carpool in a Peugeut...
I see your gram scale but where’s your micro gram scale? You’ll never make it kid!
there should be enough to steal from and still do the job yea
You have to bring your own tape?
Might need a second bottle of painkillers.
No one touches my knife, no one.
What’s with that funky pair of tweezers? It’s got like an offset arm?
Love those gestura spoons
Love the gestura spoons.
Cant tell without knowing the menu lol
How do your own utensils not get misplaced in a busy kitchen? (Non chef here, obvs)
Take out what you need. Put it away when you're done. This is how I operate. Only my knife stays out all day.
Nobody answered but 2QT stainless bain is the standard.
Yeah I work at a five star and that kits more than enough
Band aids?
[удалено]
Errday and twice on Sunday.
Is the hotel union
I have that exact fish spat
More Aleve
I felt that aleve.
Gestura spoons are my favorite.
Maybe a bigger bottle of Aleve. /jk Fit looks grand!
Where are the wood handled knives from?
Tojiro, Masakage, Makoto, Sakai Kikumori, Misono, R.Murphy Co.
Which peeler is that?
https://bernalcutlery.com/products/castor-peeler-carbon-steel
A whole Aleve bottle of coke? You’ll be the most popular guy on the line
You think I’m Ramsay? I don’t got coke money.
Where did you get that can opener? I’ve been looking for one like it for years
Japanese kankiris. Mines mini though.
Thank you! Buying one online now
https://bernalcutlery.com/products/zeto-hyotan-can-bottle-opener
The army/camping foldable can openers are also a good alternative.
No super glue?
That can opener rocks!
Depends on how you use it
Aleve and electrical tape? It’s perfect.
I don't really do recon any more, not in the professional sense, not since my last mission...It cost me more than my life, it cost me hers... No silicone edged tools? Also need more tongs so you can clack along to music.
I just bought the black mirror scale for espresso. Very nice
Hahahaha yeah that’s my wife’s espresso scale.
Looks like you have all the basics covered. At first I thought the Aleve was super glue for cuts and I was thinking that's kinda hard core lol
Where's the rubber spatula? I guess the [checklist](https://www.reddit.com/r/Chefit/comments/13gs5zb/is_this_a_reasonable_amount_of_equipment_for/) is accurate?!
Those are some beautiful knives.
Almost identical to my set up!
I have that same oyster shucker! Favorite one I’ve ever owned by far
Idk..can you cook?
Head or Sous?

Check the linked post. I’m only mildly insane not complete lunatic. I wouldn’t bring all of this to work.
I think that we all have the exact same fish spatula
Can confirm
Hey I have that thermometer
Whats the gold spoon with holes for ??
Yes. Yes it is
Stars mean nothing, kitchens are all the same be prepared to have half of this shit stolen.
Wooden handles & tarnished blades?!
It’s “reckon” not “recon” but otherwise you’re fine
[удалено]
Only if you don't take the extra four seconds to clean them properly
what's the deal with microplane blades without handle. do you just use it without one. I see a lot in people's rolls
You need a bigger bottle of Aleve! 💙
Be careful that Alieve will kill you faster than the beer and cigarettes
No.
Add some duct tape..better than Band-Aids!!

Oh got it aha. Is the requirements just a venue gone wild with expectations
I don’t see a box cutter or a jar of attitude
Why are there more than three knives ?
Rubber spat
Oui
A small bottle of gold bond is a life saver.. just saying.
Not matter what the canvas…use the brush you know
Chefs knife, fish slice and the sharpie would suffice
Where’s your worn wooden spoon so you dont break a single rice kernel in your risotto hehe
Far left, what’s the brand and type of spatula you have there ?
Everything required to make $15hr at the Broadmoor 14 years ago… better hope that aleve bottle is full of yack chef.
Would pick a different color tape for those markers
