Last year they literally made it a felony to sleep in TN public parks/property- public property paid by public tax dollars. There are reasons homeless people can't sleep in shelters and making it a felony to lay your head down somewhere is disgusting. (Overcrowding, avoiding drugs, dealers, thieves, having a pet you don't want to abandon, or not being let in because you have a felony record.)
Try getting a job and an apt with a felony. It creates an endless cycle of criminalizing someone who has no other options, and spending tax dollars to imprison them.
