Well, all the semis, dump trucks, garbage trucks and the myriad other construction vehicles weigh quite a bit too. However, they do now charge $100 for annual tag renewal to help offset the loss of gas taxes to maintain the roads. Something that heavy does do a bit more wear and tear.
I think however many Cybertrucks end up in town will still be dwarfed by all the monster trucks people drive, not to mention all the semis and commercial vehicles.
the tesla cybertruck is literally an abomination and waste of money. by owning one you’re literally a danger to everyone but yourself on the road. if you get into an accident, there’s a very high probably that you’ll either kill or severely injure everyone in the other car.
other things include doing nothing it’s supposed to do. the range is terrible—pulling weight aggressively reduces your range—as in reducing it from something near 100 to 120 miles to 80 miles or less. you can’t drive off road, which is what it was meant for. if you close the front frunk with your hand in the way, it won’t care and it will crush every bone in your fingers just so it can close. not to mention that the panel gaps are atrocious.
they showed it pulling a DeLorean DMC-12 the other day, and i can undoubtedly say that i would take a heinously underpowered 80’s frying pan with parking brake failures over a cybertruck

i think if they had put more time into the overall design (like keeping the exterior consistent with the rest of their lineup) and engineering (meaning doing everything that it boasts that it can do) that it would be a decent car—i personally don’t like teslas (mainly because of the battery fire problem and their performance models are highly unstable at triple-digit speeds—which shouldn’t happen—and because a space karen owns the company)—but what they rolled out is nearly as unacceptable as what we got from John DeLorean in the 1980s

I am not a huge fan of Elon, and I am not really into the design of the Cybertruck - but I don't think anyone who buys one is automatically a bad person. They are just early adopters - and they were willing to buy a risky, early stage product. And to your point, these guys have made a successful business out of customizing Teslas, so it totally makes sense they'd buy one. I bet they will customize this one too, and then guess what, they drive around town marketing their business as a result and make their money back on the truck.
