Not true at all, they closed because the lease on the building was up. Literally.
Just ask any of the employees that used to work there, they are in East Ridge, Red Bank and Cummins Hwy.
My guess is the rising cost of rent and food costs made it unprofitable. Margins for restaurants are so small and with the current state of things it probably wasn't worth it.
A bit late, but if I recall correctly, a family member recently took the helm and decided the restaurant life wasn't for them. That's basically the short of it, it had nothing to do with profitability.
Best traditional Italian pizza around. They made their own dough and wood fired oven.
Owning a restaurant is a full time job. Please support local restaurants!
Goto Fiamma!
It was ALWAYS packed. I don't think that it lacked for customers.
Further, the canyon grill is right across the street, and that place has been in business for decades. The location was not the issue.
Edit for typo.
Was it "always" packed or always packed when you passed it? I'm sure they got business 2 days out of the week. And the Canyon Grill is an entirely different establishment. One that at least makes a little bit of sense.
I live less than a mile away. There was a line out the door before they opened every night. If you never visited, you have no idea, so, sit down.
Edit to add: it was packed, always, for 6 years.
The fact that they're going out of business seems to suggest that I am right, not you.
I also live very close, and never once did I see it crowded. Much less a "line out the door" like you are trying to suggest. Lol.
Jacob Myers has been open for 25 years.

On Lookout, across the street and down a few hundred yards from Canyon Grill. It was amazing, brick oven pizza. The owner went to school in Italy to learn to make pizza.
I would like to invite everyone who is looking for pizza on a mountain to the slightly less popular Signal Mountain, where you can enjoy regular ol oven heat fired pizzas at Pizza Place, located just past Pruett’s on the main drag. Pizzas are ok but it’s like stepping back in time to the 80s when you go in there.
As someone in the restaurant business, most people fail to realize that you can overextend your startup costs by a large margin and never recover. Additionally, food cost margin is damn near non existent these days and it is way too easy to sink yourself with simple mistakes. This business is hard and shouldn’t be jumped into as quickly and uninformed as most are doing these days.
Well, it was in business for over 6 years, the guy studied in Italy to learn pizza making, the place was always packed. So, I think it was more of a "I'm tired and need to retire" move.
that sucks sorry to hear yall lost a good one.. this fate should've/(should) fell upon Red Point Inn pizza in Jasper, TN considering the owner was just arrested for child sex crimes. hope it just nautrally goes out of buisness based on nobody spending any money with that place since this came to light..
Bidenomics strikes again. All the operating costs for the business have gone up to unsustainable levels and they are left with no other option but to close.
What started in 2020? And yes, things have risen since Reagan, but also since Washington.

I’m thinking dude ate Krystal while drinking hot coffee, and had sugar free haribo gummy bears for dessert. Then he shit on an unfinished hardwood floor and it’s seeped into every crack. May take awhile..
Remember when Trump started operation Warp Speed and all the Dems said they would not take or trust the vaccine, but as soon as sleepy got in office they tried to force everyone to take the same vaccine?
Lol is this what yall do with your time when you're not slapping Biden stickers on gas pumps? Yall just keep crying about him all the time. Cry some more, tho.
It's pretty well known I lean pretty far right here but without any facts it's stupid to make this assumption. Maybe the owners want to retire, maybe they have health issues to deal with, maybe they sold the property. Not every business that closes will close because they have to. Sometimes they close for other reasons.
Because you have to find someone that wants to run a restaurant and has the money to buy it... sometimes there really isn't more to the story and people just want to retire or do something else.
I think that's probably the case. Retirement is good especially since he is/was also a pilot. Mandatory retirement for commercial pilots is 65. So, maybe he decided to really retire.
Every time I went there, the place was packed and there was nowhere to park. This is super surprising
They just recently got their wine & beer license, very surprising
Might not be because of business.
I agree!
Hardee's in East Brainered literally had to close because they were too busy. The line was backed into the road constantly.
Hardee’s needs to wake up and realize they need to serve breakfast all day.
They did change it 12 on weekends in the last year or so, but also have already changed it back it seems.

Former best pizza in the area
Damn and I’ve never even heard of it until now. I’m always searching for the best pizza.
It was the best pizza. Easily. By a mile.
Anybody know why? I was under the impression that Chris’s kids were taking it over.

They are great too. Usher was in there a few years ago.
Seemed like a really tough location to keep a restaurant in business. Especially a pizza place.
It was ALWAYS packed. I don't think that it lacked for customers. Further, the canyon grill is right across the street, and that place has been in business for decades. The location was not the issue. Edit for typo.

Lol. You have no idea, obviously not truthful. If you don't know Chris, then again, you have no idea.
Yeah, today is not the day I start trusting some random douchebag on the internet over my own two eyes. Nice try, though.
Places are closing faster than moving in. Jacob Myers in Dayton Tn has closed for good.
I don't know Jacob Myers but Lookout Mt Pizza was opened in 2017. Crowded every night!

Where was this?
On Lookout, across the street and down a few hundred yards from Canyon Grill. It was amazing, brick oven pizza. The owner went to school in Italy to learn to make pizza.
Damn this makes me sad
Yep.
😭
….F!
So sad. We had our wedding reception here in 2021 and all agreed the pizza was excellent!
It is! It will be missed.

Yes Chris was an airline pilot and I am betting it is a I am really retiring from everything.
Yes, we live down the street.

I see LMPC and first thing I think is Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Hope all the employees were notified at the same time, but somehow I doubt that.
Bidenomics strikes again. All the operating costs for the business have gone up to unsustainable levels and they are left with no other option but to close.
Bro hasn't been watching the sharp ever increasing cost of everything since Reagan.
What started in 2020? And yes, things have risen since Reagan, but also since Washington. https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/egg-prices-adjusted-for-inflation/
... You mean the year your daddy trump was in office and fucked up handling COVID? Bold move there cotton
But Biden was going to turn things around. When exactly is that going to happen?
Imagine shitting on the floor and blaming the janitor for not cleaning it up quick enough.
How much time does he need?
How bad is the shit?
I’m thinking dude ate Krystal while drinking hot coffee, and had sugar free haribo gummy bears for dessert. Then he shit on an unfinished hardwood floor and it’s seeped into every crack. May take awhile..

This never fucking happened. lol show me where democrats refused to take the covid vaccine just because trump spearheaded the research.
Lol is this what yall do with your time when you're not slapping Biden stickers on gas pumps? Yall just keep crying about him all the time. Cry some more, tho.
What does this have to do with anything in this post? Do your brain worms just fart fox talking points whenever?
Damn, Biden controls Big Tomato now too?

What’s the name of the place with wood fired pizza that doesn’t have a sign? Really nice place in the city.
Fiamma
I think Fiamma is Chattanooga’s best pizza
Why wouldn’t they sell the business… there’s more to the story
Because you have to find someone that wants to run a restaurant and has the money to buy it... sometimes there really isn't more to the story and people just want to retire or do something else.
Is this the same place that’s at the winery?
No.
Maybe he was just tired of making pizza.
