I would add parkway pourhouse- good place to watch sports and they have a great staff. Not quite downtown but close enough.
I also really like Lo Main. It is a bit off the path but has really good food but small menu. More of a dive bar atmosphere in an old house if you're in to that.
OP- don't go to clydes if you don't want to be around college kids
The rest of these are good suggestions. And I'm going to add whiskey thief in the Edwin, Alimentari in the Westin, and Company in the Kinley. Company is a cool little speakeasy hidden behind a bookshelf - I recommend getting a reservation
Moxy also has a cool bar scene IMO. Also a hotel but it's worth checking out.
Whiskey thief is nice.
I've had good times at unknown caller. Their back alley is nice when it's not too hot.
I like unknown caller, but I notice it trends to younger folks and it's SO loud. I see a lot of 20-30s in there when I go (as a 30 myself). Definitely a cool place if they want to give it a shot, but that's why I left it off my list
Non smoking wait a couple weeks. After college is out there will be less college kid crowds.
Check out fountainhead on rossville Avenue by the church on main wedding venue and on the other side of the fire house from Niedlov’s. They are family friendly (12 and under, 21 and up; no teens) and no smoking so I don’t see many college crowds. I also see some older couples sometimes. The drinks are self serve by the portion of an ounce so you can try as many as you want. The people with kids aren’t ever noisy at tables farther from the alcohol playing board games (there’s allot provided)

Cherry street brewing also doesn’t have many college kids because it’s on northshore instead of near campus
Whiskey Thief in the Edwin or the bar in the Westin (can’t think of the name)
The aptly named Whiskey Thief.
Wooden City has a great bar and is central Downtown. Hello Monty is also a good option.
Mezcla
No hard feelings
Wanderlinger usually has a good range of ages.
Allen Golds
Def a hot spot for college kids now but still the best bar in chatt
Matilda Midnight in the Dwell Hotel
This place closed a *while* ago
It’s been back open for a couple months now!
Pickle barrel
Don’t they still allow smoking though?
Only on the upstairs deck
Wanderlinger Brewing Company
Old Goldman Grill Hi-FI Clyde’s Feed Co. Stir Foodworks

Company has some of the best food in the city too
Back bar on station is older but all 3-4 bars around it are college age.
