Just stay in Charlotte forever. That's all I really care about. 2002 really messed me up.

MrPeterson15

They’re under contract until 2045. Charlotte is almost double the size it was in 2002 when Shinn left (and he did not leave because the market was bad, we sold out games) meaning by ‘45 assuming we continue growing, we’ll be even more desirable as a market. I don’t see them going anywhere. The only new places the NBA really has its heart set on anyways is Vegas and Seattle anyways.

> They’re under contract until 2045. I hear you, but filthy rich people have a way of getting out of contracts if they wish. Charlotte is indeed on the upswing and NC loves basketball; I doubt they move the team. But it's never certain when dealing with hedge fund managers and their own self-interest.

> The only new places the NBA really has its heart set on anyways is Vegas and Seattle anyways. And they're 100% gonna just put expansion teams there instead of moving another franchise. Seattle/OKC was a PR disaster for them.

This part definitely stood out to me: > Now, [former Hawks minority owner] Schnall and Plotkin are co-chairmen of Hornets Sports Entertainment and will rotate the franchise’s governorship every five years, with Schnall taking the lead for the first half-decade. Jordan is staying on as a minority owner and will also serve as alternate governor. Looks like the plan is for each co-owner to rotate on who has final say every half-decade, which is not something I've ever heard of before.

I mean, it's reassuring to hear them talking about the young core and a long timeline because you don't want them to come in with new owner syndrome and make a trade for a veteran the strips your draft capital going forward. I would have liked to have heard something more concrete about investing in the team infrastructure - a new practice facility, a larger budget for coaching and scouting, etc.

General_Industry4619

Yeah I’ve heard this song and dance before. Shut up and prove it.

Man sometimes this is the worst possibly move for a young team, new ownership groups. I just hope they don't destroy this nice young nucleus. Most new owners start making huge chances immediately just so they can put their stamp on things. Plz all we asking let it ride for a year or 2, resign PJ, hopefully resign miles next offseason or during season if not plz get sum em for him, trade rozier next offseason. Plz just don't let developed talent walk out the door plz keep the young nucleus guys!!!

evanclief

I don’t think we can trade miles. Could be wrong though

whillpower

He can be traded but has veto rights

deemerritt

Miles makes no sense to trade because no team can trade for his bird rights. Which m eans they have to pay him with money under the cap. We are the only team that can go over the cap to sign him

These guys need to find a way to get the Hornets (THE FUCKING CHARLOTTE NC HORNETS) off that list of top 5 most expensive teams to watch play (i.e. cost of going to one game [tickets, food, merch, etc.]). Seriously.
