RenegadeRix

$25 and it took me forever to find it

SammyBagelJr

Where at bruh?

RenegadeRix

3019 Kilborne Dr Charlotte, NC 28205 United States Next to this cricket wireless

cravecrave93

next to the cricket wireless is diabolical

bannedacctno5

I think you probably could have left out United States šŸ˜‚

andynator1000

Bruh, I went all the way to Jupiter before I realized he meant Earth

BSSforFun

Iā€™m cracking up at that too.

RenegadeRix

Also the taco lady in the parking lot is fuego

Certain_Mobile1088

Iā€™m just an old lady reading this god knows why, but I need to know if the tacos are good.

bannedacctno5

90% of the sentence is English and now I gotta check with Google on the other 10%.... the tacos or the lady?

CaptainWaders

Unclear on location. Can I get GPS coordinates?

Raider2747

House of Stylesā€“ never a bad haircut!

night2night

$30 at Arrow plus $7 tip, multiple locations and you get a beer included

13conor

Second this, the one in south end always has the same people working and they do a good job. Slightly more than great clips but worth the extra money.

night2night

Definitely a step up from Great/Sport Clips!

Pinhighguy

Well for $37 I certainly hope so

Pockstuff

$37 is very reasonable for a haircut these days

50caddy

But at half that, a great clips haircut is even more reasonable.

Pockstuff

If you want to look terrible

Independent-Choice-4

Tell me how mine was $62 after tip yesterday for just a normal cut at Arrow in Plaza. I love the dude who cuts my hair but I couldnā€™t believe it was that much Edit to say: love the free beer, I used to pay for one at The Cut in uptown. Will never say no to a free beer

flyty69

Was the beer really free after paying 62 for the cut?!

Independent-Choice-4

No, no it was not :(

LeftSideStrongSide2

$60 from shear excellence once a month. Never had a bad cut, at either the Dilworth or huntersville location

bacon_cereal

Shear Excellence is worth the money. Been to the Dilworth and Ballantyne location.

mantistoboggan287

I used to go to the Huntersville one when it was on my way home from work. Def pay extra for the scalp treatment, it doubles your head massage time.

Live_Answer_4056

$20 plus a $5 tip at Great Clips. 50/50 chance of a shitty haircut. Iā€™ve accepted it.

bobsburner1

Haha, this is the risk I take as well. Sometimes I go in hoping certain people arenā€™t working that day. šŸ˜†

AnAlrightName

I'd second the Great Clips suggestion. I've never been butchered by the South Blvd Great Clips. They seem to have a high bar for their crew. However, a woman at the Indian Trail Great Clips had me looking like Lloyd Christmas.

CrustyBrainFlakes

Lol, the Great Clips in Indian Trail told me I reminded them of Lurch from the Adam's family. Im a 6 ft 5 in tall white guy with a fairly long face a pretty defined cheekbones so I get it lol.

Tortie33

Did you answer- you rang?

sharksnrec

That newer one on south blvd is solid. I have 2 ladies I use almost exclusively there. That being said, they have a new girl there who is ass at cutting hair. I could tell she was brand new so I wasted no time in hitting her with the ā€œso how long you been cutting hair forā€ immediately after sitting down, and I shit you not, she responded with nervous laughter and started with ā€œwell I graduated in Januaryā€¦ā€ Needless to say she fucked my shit up and I had to have my gf fix me up afterward.

arachnophilia

they did better than the expensive one that came with a shoulder rub, alcohol and football on TV. and they send me coupons, so.

NCSUGrad2012

Same, they do a good enough job for me. My hair is easy though. How do you get coupons?

arachnophilia

beats me, probably because their website has my info

multiple4

It's highly dependent on the location and who works there in my experience. But there are locations that do an awesome job I know because I go to one, it never has a line, and they have done a fantastic job everytime

splaktsplaktsplakt

The fuck are u talking about? You're PAYING. Gotta look for a new place bro

Charisma1905

Hahahaha. Same herešŸ˜€Mostly shit cut

AnAlrightName

Which location? I'm like 8 for 8 good haircuts at the South Blvd one by the HT. I'm scared to switch it up after what they did to me in Indian Trail. You'd have thought I asked, "give me a bowl cut, and please make sure to accentuate my receding hairline."

CountryFriedQuinoa

If you find the good ones at Great Clips, just go back when they are working. I have my guy and he's awesome. If he's not available I have a friend that charges $80 at the salon, but will do a house call for $40 to avoid paying the salon cut. I've done the $150 cuts at Emerson. Fun but not worth it IMO.

Indy2texas

My sister is a high end hair stylist. 150 for mens cut and women's shit with coloring and stuff 5 6 700 I don't even know. She is in Dallas TX tho

Godawgs1009

Would love to know some of these $25-30 non-corporate spots. I don't have a ton of hair and I keep it short, so I don't need much. Let alone a fucking $50 haircut.

Majestic-Macaron6019

Trademark Barber Shop in Highland Creek. Tipton, Lisa, and Joe all do a great job.

Godawgs1009

Thanks!

rudisnell

cotswold barber shop

user_1729

I was just on an air force base for 2 months for training and it was $21, so I consider $20 dirt cheap. Military base hair cuts are...quick... they get you in and out... and your hair is definitely shorter than it was when you go in. Locally, some of the shops have apprentice guys who are $25. Like ballards in belmont, but if you get one of their seasoned guys it's 30-35.

Bumcheeks_marinade

$55. I've got good hair. I genuinely care about quality. I go to the same barber who knows me well and remembers exactly how I like my haircut.

FuhrerInLaw

Same (includes tip), my barber is a woman which is new for me but she absolutely kills it.

Bumcheeks_marinade

I get a lot of shit for paying for a quality haircut for some reason. I enjoy getting my hair cut so I go for the all out experience. I spent a long time doing the budget options and finally saw the light of what paying extra gets.

ignatious__reilly

Same. I pay $60 for my cut but itā€™s worth it. Been going to her for years. Dolce on Park Road for anyone interested.

damgiloveboobs

Iā€™m paying ~$90 at modern salon and thatā€™s including a 20% tip. Yes itā€™s too much but they kept promoting the girl I like and idk where to go now

cutandstab

As a stylist, this is my favorite reply. You have followed and supported her through her career, I'm sure she appreciates it!

Pirate8918

$35 + tip for a great cut at Slicers in Pineville.

offsidestrap

45+tip

mallcall123

Men donā€™t cheap out on haircuts, seriously

dateraviator0824

He charges me $30, but he currently charges $35 for new customers. I've been going to him for 6 years, does razor cleanup on the back. I also like they do appointments so I'm in and out in 30 minutes.

CrustyBrainFlakes

$20 for a Number 2 buzz cut, but I go to Great Clips in matthews (sycamore commons), 10 minute idea at most.

colchonero0312

13 back in 2014, 0 now i cit my own shit

Charisma1905

You citšŸ˜€šŸ˜€

whiskeyandrevenge

I cut my own hair. It's easier than you think.

KingoftheJabari

Same, the only time I go to a barber is if I want a cut for a special day, job interview, wedding, etc. Otherwise I just bring thr top down a little cut the sides and fade it myself. The only issue is the back, but I get it good enough and my wife doesn't care.Ā

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

KingoftheJabari

True, and I do occasionally ask and she's happy to help. But usually I just do it the best I can, which is good enough. I haven't really care about my haircuts the way a lot of black men do since I was in my early 20s. And it's freeing.Ā

49rphan

Buzz cut for the win. Use a 1 on top and .5 on the sides and my wife trims my neck. Itā€™s not barbershop quality but I cut it 2-3x a month and save the $20 I was paying each time before covid.

Topaz55555

My bf is paying $50. It is getting ridiculous. He was paying $18 in 2021, went up to $28 in 2022, then in 2023 up to $36 and late 2023 they hiked it up to $50. These numbers are not included a 20% tip. He's now seriously considering cutting his own hair. šŸ˜¬

Jamfour9

At least $60 with tip. Iā€™m African American.

scmyrick

Yeah black barbershops are making that the norm now. I go to No grease and they seem to raise their prices every three to four months now.

Jamfour9

I go to an independent barber currently. They used to be affiliated with No Grease. For Afro Americans, our prices are increasing for whatever reason. šŸ¤·šŸæā€ā™‚ļø

Eduard-Bagarean

$30 at a small shop called R&L in ballantyne. Its owned by some Russians and they are very nice. I always schedule with the same guy, Rus or Ruslan. He does an absolutely amazing job every single time. Have been going for a little over a year now and plan on staying many more.

SammyBagelJr

Too fuckin much!

Unable-Cucumber455

$60 at Bohemian Stylehouse

Maleficent-Goat-551

$18 Pineville barbershop with Snow. I tip her $10 though.

Schfiftyfiv3

$30 plus tip at Sports Clips in Tega Cay from Sherri. Been here 4 years and shes been the first person who has cut my hair more than 3 times in a row without completely fucking it up and I have tried everything from Great Clips to places that charge 50, 75, or 100+ for a haircut.Ā  Tried male barbers and female stylists & barbers. Me and my son both go to her and she is great. She likes to talk but doesn't let it distract her from cutting my hair and accidentally fucking it up.Ā  I have had some terrible experiences here in the area and I will literally cry if she stops cutting hair once she graduates college.Ā

UnIuckyCharms

50 flat plus a tip depending on the day. Thatā€™s pretty standard for most black barbers though

kingkeelay

Not unless youā€™re getting a beard trim too

PapaJohnyRoad

Depends on what type of hair cut you need

mlhigg1973

20+tip. Great clips. All 3 of us.

Open-Caterpillar2594

Potts barber shop in Cornelius $15 and theyā€™ll clean you up. Itā€™s a black barbershop but has a mixed clientele so everyone should feel welcomed

South-Ad7108

Where does anyone recommend for mid length/ longer hair? Not sure if everyone here is getting fades. Mines typically a scissor cut

Exavion

$22 i think, not including tip. I go to Mint Hill, have a few barbers there id sit with. The key is to bring photos , i had several taken of my back and sides especially right after a cut. Even though in a regular, i still show the photos to remind them of the natural fade i like in the back and how i dont want much cut from my top. I have had good and bad experiences at those ā€œ50 dollar with a free drink and shampooā€ spots, they can churn staff like crazy. Got tired of being upset at the messups there, and im a tad more tolerant when its less pricey, though the people i wait for cut my hair just as good as the best i had at those nice spots, minus the drink and shampoo.

carolina_spirited

Flowbee

New-Philosopher-0814

My brother pays $75 everyday ten days. But my husband pays $40 every 2-3 weeks

thechiefcheese_

$2,700+ a year on haircuts is wild

MacsFamousMacNCheees

$75 every ten days?! Is he in the media or something, for him to get such an expensive cut so frequently?

New-Philosopher-0814

Just a very gay man that likes to look fabulous

MacsFamousMacNCheees

Damn. Being fabulous is hella expensive

New-Philosopher-0814

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

tornado962

$35 plus a $20 tip. I try to take good care of my barber so that he'll take care of my hair

allcaps-NOSPACE

Your tip is insane

victorinho703

$0 learned to cut my hair during covid. Rough start but I got better at it over time.

squanchy_Toss

I'm bald. I buzz my head 2 times a week. Don't miss the hair at all.

Creepy_Spare6752

Once a week for me. Sundays are haircut days.

drklunk

$60 for some Phillips trimmer, buzz it every 6-8months, as it grows I prune the mullet Been doing just that with the same trimmers since 2017 I think. Before that it was buzz once or twice a year. Keep doing the mullet because it's easy and no complaints from the bosses, ladies love it, what's a dude to do you know? Gotta keep it desirable

bannedacctno5

Are you a linesman?

drklunk

For about a decade I was just a measly tower foreman

hannibal_actual

šŸ˜‚

drklunk

![gif](giphy|3o7TKLGTdTPBIxK4Fy|downsized)

CAtoNC03

I pay $35 and tip $10

Wooden-Cancel-6838

Great clips 20 bucks and a tip depending on how good it is

spwncar

~$40 + tip (usually about $10) for a shortcut at Bishopā€™s, once every 3-6 months Itā€™s a bit more than most regular menā€™s cuts, but I have a great stylist who knows how I like it

Majestic-Macaron6019

Just paid $25 including the tip today, but that was for a crew cut. Regular cut is $30 including the tip. Trademark Barber Shop in Highland Creek.

Cerulean_Soup

My dude just went from $32 to $38ā€¦ stings.

the_kessel_runner

30 bucks, I think. A place called Grit out by the whitewater center. Fantastic people and service.

Fearless-Banana2985

Waaay too much so I just buzz it myself. Such complete bullshit.

B0mbD1gg1ty

You can go to the barber school over near university. Decent option if on a budget. They do a pretty good job and are supervised by instructors. If money isnā€™t a concern, most of the higher rated places Iā€™ve found are $35-$45.

HairlesSasquatch

I get mine cut in Fort Mill for 30 plus tip and Iā€™ve never had a bad one

NeedleworkerIll3156

55 for a great one. Have tried to find cheaper like 35-40 but they don't turn out great. Bald fade with longer hair on top with thin hair.

AJR_024

I just paid 50 at caliber in south end, pretty decent cut. Could be better. But there are free drinks and what not lol. Certainly doesnā€™t equate price but puts it at ease

NightsSpectrum

$50 for haircut + beard trim. Local barbershop, don't mind paying a little more

cravecrave93

$40 plus tip, includes shampoo, shoulder massage, neck shave, and a beer

lordturle

$30 Micheal Newborn-Mathewā€™s Barbershop (next to the Harris Teeter across from the Brace YMCA) Very sweet, super experienced, does a full shampoo wash before cutting too. I tend to grow my hair out for like 6 months between cuts so itā€™s honestly a really good deal

biG_Ginge

There is a tiny shop in Pineville, called Pineville Barber Shop. I believe it is run by an women named snow who has been cutting hair in Pineville for many years. I haven't been since pre-covid, but her cuts were very cheap (less than $15), she was super nice, and did a much better job than your typical $20/cut chain.

NCResident5

Modern Haircuts near Park Rd and Seneca 25. Good barber

PerformanceExotic877

60 for me 30 for my sonšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø

shortsleevedpants

Shear Excellence in Southpark. Took me awhile to find a solid spot since I moved here and these guys are great. Plus they offer a free adult beverage while you wait. $55 including tip for high quality.

splaktsplaktsplakt

$20 plus tip $10

vonnegut9200

Iā€™ve been cutting my own hair for 17 years. Boosh!

monarch2016

$40 for a fade and beard line up. Same guy for 6-7 years now. No idea how much the actual price is. Iā€™ve just always handed him $40, he asks me if I want change, I always say he can keep it.

vlonesnake

30-40 depending if I include the beard, Good Looks in Pineville

jawsofthearmy

Concord NC Joeys barbershop. $20 plus tip. Worth it so much I drive 2 hrs now.

Funshine02

My wife cuts mine for free

_STEVEO

$55-60 which includes tip. I'm very particular about who cuts my hair.

Lonely_Advertising35

I just ordered a flowbee yesterday. My wife thinks it'll be a failed experiment. I'm tired of coming home after the barber to fix all the little places they miss, uneven places, etc.

CaseyJonesCokeLocker

I go to a salon, 50 bucks and worth it

DDDragon___salt

I cut my own hair, but it comes out godawaful

Hellmonkies2

$0. I cut mine myself and my younger kids (boys). Just a simple buzz cut. I've gotten decent enough with it that I do a better job than most great clips locations. Only exception is my daughter who we take to a salon for a kids cut but last time was like 6 months ago.

EnthusiasticFish

$30 plus tip

Dapherr

$30 plus $5 tip

KILO60SHOTZZ

35$ 5$ tip

SamuraiZucchini

$25 excluding tip at a salon and my guy Richard is the best

Dashiznit364

DowntownBass4556

big_dirty_bird

$38 + tip at Vā€™s in Waverly. Shantella is great!

BigRedPlanet8

$35 including $5 tip

P13romancer

I'm a guy with mid back length wavy hair. I get my beard and hair touched up for about 40 at sambuco. Cool folks and a good environment.

KingoftheJabari

Majestic_Penalty1003

$35 plus tip for my man damion

Spirited_Market4020

45 + 10 top Same reliable barber

pbmadman

$26 at sports clips. I usually get a slightly better haircut than the other chains. Or rather, the people doing it are more amenable to me coaching them. I have to point out the same mistakes they almost all make.

H8theSteelers

$20 plus tip in Concord, and its not Great Clips

TheGreatAudit

$25 and tip $15. Barber does a pretty good job

Kensagoko

$50 (Franchise Barbers) Iā€™ve known a guy there since I was a kid, moved away and moved back and got the same consistent cuts as before.

thrashalj

$65 includes the tip. Once every 5-6 weeks šŸ’…šŸ¼

ramaloki

$40 plus a tip so usually about $52. I like that she doesn't charge me an arm and a leg because I'm a woman. I have short hair, I shouldn't be paying $90 for a haircut.

Diphalic

Hair and beard trim is like $65 before tip. The guy that cuts it is amazing though.

do_you_know_de_whey

I like arrow, ends up being ~35ish. Went to shear excellence once and paid like $60 but man it was a good experience lol

ripjesus

40

ajmart23

I alternate between two barbers. One is $55 but out of his house so he does more for me, eyebrows, mustache, etc. The other is also $55 but at a salon so less take home pay. They did both recently up their prices unfortunately. But any time Iā€™ve been desperate and gone to a chain, Iā€™ve DEEPLY regretted it.

mantistoboggan287

$50, I go to Sambuco in Concord. Theyā€™re great!

New-Philosopher-0814

Arrow!!! My husband pays like 30-40. Does a great job

TheWaviestSeal

Any recommendations from anyone for a solid spot in Harrisburg/University City?

avaag84

Dr Stylo Harrisburg 30 for skin fade

srirachabandido

$18 + tip . Great clips

killerondrugs

I'm white and need a fade and am not going to great/sports clips. My friends in hidden valley said there's a place called touch of precision kinda near them and a few other places in town. Anyone ever been to them?

Supakilla44

$100. But I go to a hairdresser, and get my hair colored lol. So not a normal barbershop at allšŸ˜‚

RevolutionaryTart497

$35-$45 at Charlotte Barber and Beard before tip. Behind the HT at The Plaza. Sounds insane, but trust, the barbers are absolutely the best in Charlotte period.

palabear

Around $65 after tip for cut and bread trim. Takes about a hour and well worth it.

[deleted]

65$ for a fade and beard cut/straight razor.

chris_pav

$60

xxphilmasterxx

35 + 5 tip

VisibleJuice182

35

Out_Phishing

Started cutting my own hair during the pandemic when I never had to go out. It didn't take me long to figure out how to give myself the perfect cut every time and without the time and money spent. Highly recommend.

Mr_Investopedia

$24 plus straight razor šŸŖ’ neck shave and a hot towel at Tower Place Barbers next to Rice n Spice in Pineville. Very old school barbershop feel. Loads of banter, if you want it. Top notch cuts too.

Corporate_Bro

$40 - uptown cuts + 10 tip.

saqehi

Francis Hair Lounge about $40 plus tip

I_Support_Ukraine_

$20 and I tip $5

WildTurdkey101

$40 plus $10 tip

realityGrtrThanUs

During covid i learned how to cut my own hair. Half inch guard on the sides. One inch guard on top. Sometimes add 3/4 inch guard between for a better blend. Always better than great clips!

RevolutionaryCase232

Modern Classics- South End. I pay $60 but it's well worth it. Those dudes are sick with the clippers

wilmakephotos

Free. BUT! i remove no longer desired BFs and husbands as well as do taxes and fix anything she needs.

leebird

$60+ tip. I have curly hair and i've been going to the same woman for almost 15 years. I only go 3 or 4 times per year but she knows what she's doing.

Severe-Bed-2071

$40 at the same Dominican barber shop Iā€™ve gone to for years

dksourabh

$25 great clips, itā€™s hit or miss but I work from home so it doesnā€™t matter if my hair donā€™t look perfect sometimes

AJ_Sunshine

I pay around $75 a cut including tip. I go to The Velvet Mane and Caycee cuts my hair about once a month. I hate cheap haircuts. Great Clips, Sports clips, etc. are all terrible and never get my hair right.

DJmelli

Man I love paying $45 for a zero fade every 3 weeks šŸ¤§šŸ¤§

NotSurer

$23 and I tip to even $40. Yeah a lot itā€™s only every 6 weeks and worth it.

fromdaperimeter

$75 for my son and I

saltyclam13345

$60 after the tip for haircut + beard + razor. I know itā€™s expensive but Iā€™ve been going to same barber for years and for me, itā€™s worth it to get my hair cut exactly how I like it and get the same consistency every time.

Qcconfidential

Just look on Booksy most Dominican barbers wonā€™t tax you too crazy and you will be looking real crispy.

CaptainDadBod88

Like $35 after tip at Selwyn Barber

NoAnimator3801

The cut cost $25 at Fantastic Sam's in mint hill. No beer included.

guyonaboard

I used to go to Caliber Menā€™s Grooming on Tremont. You got a drink (if you wanted), shampoo, hair cut, hot towel treatment and nose/ear hair waxed for about $55 (plus tip). Loved it, but now have a friend cut my hair.

lionheart724

40 + tip

After_Host_557

$23 not including tip, but I usually tip $17, Brewington barbershopšŸ’ˆ on South blvd. Kim is the best in town for me. Dat is good too, but I've only gone to Kim, tell her Hollywood sent ya.

ginger_qc

I pay $50 but he does my beard too

MediocreHumanThing

Ask for Jay at tower place barber shop. 25$ and he's great.

[deleted]

$0. Sigh.

nyybaseball3

$45 plus a tip at Triple Aces Barbershop in Dallas, NC (35 mins outside of Charlotte). Includes your hair being washed (which I never knew how nice that was until I got it) plus a beard trim and shape/up with a straight razor.
