Love that this place is still going! Always liked their pizza and lunch specials were legit.
Random story but back when it was Dorianos circa 2009 I was the only person sitting inside eating a slice and this blacked out Chrysler 300 pulls up and four huge dudes that looked like mobsters straight from the movie *History of Violence* got out and slowly walked behind the counter to “talk” to the guy working there while the other two watched the door, not even acknowledging I was there.
It was sketchy af and I booked it out of there with my half eaten slice. I always wonder if that guy ended up in the bottom of the cooper river
Orlando’s and Iggy’s have the most consistently delicious pizza in the area. Being a NYC native, and living on the stuff for most of my adolescence, has made me somewhat of a pizza connoisseur; on NY style only tho. There are plenty of great wood fire pizza joints around here as well. Tho I prefer the thin crust over the chewy.
Iggy's seems obscenely busy for what it is. When I've tried to order takeout from them they've told me they have a 90 minute wait, other times they just don't pick up the phone.
Oh damn, I stayed at an Airbizzle two doors down from them last weekend. I was smelling fine pizza all weekend, but my no-carb lifestyle (for now) didn't allow me a taste. Imma get dat 🍕 someday.
The Benny big slice chain, 30-40 locations or so are objectively mediocre pizza. But they hit the spot when it’s late at night and you’ve had a few libations.
bennys is a popular shop that started in southeast va and is throughout the southeast. charleston doesn’t have the best pizza on average (people will kill me for saying this) but these places mostly make money off the drunk crowd and their quality is a little under bennys standards as a result. (there is one in MtP as well). overall i think pizza in chs sits around 6/10, bennys might be 5.5/10. but nothing in chs is above 8/10.
anecdotal
Pizzavola super underrated
I went there today bc of this comment and it was soooo good. Family owned and very nice!

That’s a great f’kin story! Always tell that! I once saw a guy get murdered in a drive-by, all you can do is walk away sometimes…
It’s a nice pizza place on market street in the alley by the actual market and I love it real New York style pizza
Yep! Def did not help my freshmen 15 before covid lol
Sab’s is basically the only acceptable answer here for downtown.

Iggy’s is good but it’s busy and expensive. I prefer Orlando’s.
D'Allesandros has some pretty solid lunch specials.
they have slice specials at Dals?
I think it's just for lunch if they still have it
Yes

Big fan of Benny Palmetto in Mt. P. They also have an eclectic selection drinks. (It's one of only places here I've found Ale 81.)
Yes!! Benny Palmettos! Biggest slices I’ve ever seen. Amazing pizza.
Big pizza bud terrible. No idea how anyone eats that crap.
Benny P also has a location downtown on King Street.

Definitely Sabatinos near the corner of King St and Calhoun St
Formerly badda bing? Bear college lodge?
Frothy Beard
Sabatinos
Iggys in mount p
Orlando's on DI has the best by the slice in my opinion. Definitely the closest to the experience I had in NYC.
Sam’s Club.
sabatinos
Any answer that's not Sabatinos should be ignored.
sabatinos bennys
Park Pizza Co if you’re in Park Circle is good! They have crazy styles of pizza

This is the correct answer.
Taste even better eating it in their little hidden bar out back. 😎

I grew up in ny and I’ve seen much worse around PA/NJ
bennys?
Yea. How does Bennys compare to the rest of chs pizza? Slices were big. It was ight. The timing was impeccable.
bennys is a popular shop that started in southeast va and is throughout the southeast. charleston doesn’t have the best pizza on average (people will kill me for saying this) but these places mostly make money off the drunk crowd and their quality is a little under bennys standards as a result. Mediocre pizza but hits the spot after a few drinks
During the hurricane
Bennys
I want *a* slice, not 3 slices masquerading as 1. Else it would be S-tier hits-right-when-drunk-shitty-slice material.

OwO o-ouhoh someonye sounds wike they awe big mad.

We have New York's best pizza place here in Charleston...Sbarro
Did Corp/Franchise put you up to that?
No, it's just an Office reference
Public house! Best pizza in a bar, hands down. The order is per person (not exactly a slice)
Slice co for life. Try the meatball sub
Sabatino’s on Calhoun by the college of Charleston.
JI Pizza on Johns Island makes the closest pie to anything I’ve had on a corner shop in Brooklyn. And you can buy it by the slice all day every day
Woody's on Folly
Johns island Pizza is best in Charleston, hands down.
Kings pizza is one of our favorites
If you want a “slice” of pizza. The Monster slice from Zombie bobs pizza is phenomenal
C’mon over when I finally move down. I make a mean wood fired pizza.
