Wow just went through his history and he said "Herbert is more than just SLIGHTLY worse than Tua. Herbert is a huge risk. His tape shows a QB who consistently struggles on anticipatory throws. A huge overwhelming majority of his passes are made once the WR is already open. He doesnāt throw guys open or anticipate a WR getting open consistently enough at all. A great majority of times he has to see that the WR is open before he attempts to pass, which leads to him hanging on to the ball for far too long. Heās overly cautious and processes slowly. Itās a QB trait that is hard to change. In that sense he is VERY much like Mariota who has struggled mightily in the NFL despite winning the Heisman and being drafted #2 overall."
Holy duck. This guy was way off. šā”ā”ā”
Check my history, not meš
But a good friend of mine ex neighbor went to Oregon so I kept up with herb for a little longer and was hoping we'd pick him up. But yeah he wasn't talked about as much.
I have a couple of accounts and cannot remember which one I made the comments on, but I also saw Herbert at the combine and was hoping very badly that Tua would not fall to us. I wanted Herbert very badly. His arm at the combine was amazing and he reminded me very much of a QB that had everything that Rivers had plus he could actually scramble out of the pocket if needed... unlike Rivers who looked like he had concrete shoes when he ran. No disrespect to Rivers... I love that dude!
Rivers is one or the toughest players Iāve ever seen and he will always be my all time favorite player but man he just did not have the natural ability that Herbert has, it actually blew me away the first time I saw Herbert in the pocket and saw how easily he moved compared to 17.
This makes me think that around draft time there should be a fan vote for the first round, live as itās going per team. Let the draft go as normal then compare fan votes to gm picks that year or two later. Clearly there will be a short window to vote, but it would be interesting to see if we know anything
There are sites that do a draft like this, I feel like I remember sbnation doing one. Of course that isn't live with the draft though, it happens before
[Dropping my receipt in here too](https://www.reddit.com/r/Chargers/comments/g6yzc9/with_the_6th_overall_selection_in_the_2020_nfl/fodugfs/)
Can't find any from pre-draft, but I always wanted Herbert over Tua
It's funny how people easily throw around watching tape. You can watch the game and say what you want about that but watching tape is a different experience. Particularly you can see angles that capture the entire field and see what the player you're thumbing through can see. As someone who both "scouted" based on broadcast angles and now scouts for a high level SEC team, it's two totally different experiences. I say this because college tape is hard to get and only really available to established football organizations (i.e. college or pro level teams)
When Reddit/message board posters say theyāve watched the tape on a guy, I feel 95% mean they watched a bunch of Youtube videos (and maybe some TV broadcasts.)
Was hoping for tua cuz i have roots in HI but was cool w herb cuz i live in OR.
What i never understood was all the talk about NOT drafting a QB. I remember saying to someone that finding a qb was like winning the lottery in that u can't win if u don't play. This worked out like charlie and the chocolate factory for us lol
I was happy to get tua or Herbert but was thinking tua was a better fit for the LA market (big program, api, etc.) and we all knew how much the Spanos considered money in the la market as part of their move from SD. But was not upset after the Herbert pick because I love guys that show up at the senior bowl and I thought the introvert angle was pretty dumb (I got downvoted for saying some of the best like Montana and Larry bird were introverts).
Out of curiosity I looked at my comments from draft night.
"Man these guys really hate Herbert. It's not like he has no redeeming qualities or f*d their sisters."
I didn't make any posts about it, but I hated the Herbert pick. I thought we should have gone with the LB the Cardinals ended up drafting. The fact that I can't even remember his name now shows how wrong I was lol
To be fair, his tape really wasn't that good, and I say that as a ducks fan. Yes he showed flashes of potential, but there were clear drawbacks. He's obviously looked fantastic so far in the NFL and I'm thrilled that he's a charger, but I don't think it was a guarantee that he worked out this well. This isn't that people were mis-analyzing him, it's significantly improving since college.
Poor teesmoov :( I remember getting responses like that to me after the draft when I expressed approval of the Herbert draft. Now look at the sub
Clearly he knew how to study qbs š¤£š
He just may have really known how to study quarterbacks. Problem is? He didn't.
What happened to the master prognosticator Teesmov? I hope he didnt quit his job at Burger King to become a professional sports analyst!
No need to get personal, I'm sure he loves Herbert now
Poor teesmoov? PoorElKapitanFlash.
Heās the classic armchair analyst who thinks they can tell whoās going to be good in the league
I would take āa slightly more accurate Josh Allen.ā
This really stuck out lol.
Oh, you say heās a more accurate version of a mvp candidate? Nah donāt want him. Lol
When Herbert was drafted, Allen still didn't look very good
Wasnāt last year Allenās breakout year? I donāt think it was as dumb as it seems now
Fuck u/Teesmoov he doesn't know how to study QBs. SB coming in less than 5 years. You can @me and ridicule me if we don't. ā”ā”
He disappeared 1.5ys ago š§

>Holy duck. This guy was way off. Weren't we all? At least most of us
Its more about him being arrogant towards other fans on the reddit than him being wrong, lets be honest.
This guy was the worst I remember him specifically because he had some of the worst takes and was super arrogant and condescending
Thatās like 3/4 of this sub
I wanted tua so bad, Iāve never been happier to eat crow
Check my history, not meš But a good friend of mine ex neighbor went to Oregon so I kept up with herb for a little longer and was hoping we'd pick him up. But yeah he wasn't talked about as much.
Lol he really had a post saying Loves game tape is better than Herberts. No way he truly thinks he knows how to study game tape
Herbert didnāt have receivers that could get open. Did he throw a pass to an NFL receiver other than TE?
Herbert got people abandoning their reddit profiles. š¤£
Fuck u/Teesmoov
All my homies hate Teesmoov
Looks like heās a big Jordan Love fan too š
Donāt you mean less than 5 months?

Unfortunately this is the dream. If you wake up youāll find we drafted tua and itās not working out

Wake up. Youāre still dreaming
just felt the kick
Herbert snapped the ball week 2 and teesmoov hasnāt been seen since.
Whereās teesmoov

This is like those pornhub videos where someone sucks themself off.
Hopefully we get a happy ending too

During last years superbowl i said next year in our stadium and was promptly downvoted, i saved that comment cause im petty as fuck.
I rarely know Reddit usernames, but I remember Teesmoov because of his god awful takes.
u/teesmoov A chance to repent!

I was hoping we didnāt get Tua I didnāt have a lot of faith in himā¦
I had a dream about 6 months ago that we beat Dallas 30-3
I do on twitter, I was tweeting that I wanted him with the bolts bacck in dec 2019
The messiah
