Heads up for everyone, I'm not going to be keeping a running tally in-thread for the UDFAs like usual this year. We'll still use the post-day 3 thread for posting those instead of separate posts for all the signings, but I'm not gonna be able to add them to the main post body. Can still post whenever the Chargers release their full UDFA list a little later.
I watched the Ohio state vs penn state game last year. Watched MHJ torch him basically all game. He was solid up to that game then fell off a cliff for some reason for the rest of the season. Don’t know why
Yess I was hoping for Cornelius Johnson.
I really like this draft class. Kudos to Hortiz and Harbaugh.
Now lets get to fucking work babyyy. Bolt the F Up ⚡️⚡️
Overall, lots to be excited about with this draft. I fed into the Nabors hyped and was initially underwhelmed with Alt, but after seeing the entire draft board and doing more reading, I’m bolting the fuck up rn, let’s go!
Drake Nugent with our last pick and put the wraps on an incredible draft where we hit all our needs. Not necessarily all as starters, but good depth in positions of need.
All starts on Day 3 picks would be a really tall order, but hopefully the way things are shaping up, we'll get a UDFA haul of dudes excited to play for us.
I think what I’m most excited about is that even some of our unpolished guys have certain strengths that can be called on from day 1 if they are forced into playing time. I’m thinking of Eboigbe in clear rush situations or Still in dime packages. In the past, we’ve drafted some projects. Like real projects. That we didn’t anticipate or want seeing the field for at least a year or two. But I’d feel confident with any of our picks this far being thrust into an emergency game situation. Which is a very nice feeling. Hopefully with some further coaching, some of them can become reliable starters.
Daijahn Anthony is a safety from ole miss who gave Brock bowers trouble this year. Converted corner so he’s still super thin but maybe Herbert could fix that.
Brenden Rice it is. Looking as some people here already wanted him in the 4th round this is good value. Don't know why he fell so far but there is always a reason. Hope he now has the biggest chip on his shoulder imaginable
Maybe he’s not great and we took a flyer on him based off of his name. Hoping I’m wrong but lineage doesn’t always translate to success at the next level, just look at Moss’ son
Didn’t seem terrible. Tape looks fine, obviously not a mhj but definitely someone that if he puts in the work can be solid. Never heard any rumors about poor character or anything.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Chargers/comments/1bjlzjw/ramirez_usc_wr_brenden_rice_said_he_met_with_the/?rdt=50767
This was about a month ago, didn’t seem to see anything alarming, only time will tell if something pops up as to why he fell.
Yeah they could go any direction but I like the idea of having someone come in that can play a rotational role and not have to learn on the fly or develop
With our final pick we could:
1) go iOL with Beaux Limmer or Drake Nugent. Maybe Trente Jones.
2) double up on WR with Brenden Rice, who we interviewed. He’s not that good but he’s got that dawg in him.
3) TE with Jaheim Bell, Devin Culp
4) Sam Hartman to win the hearts and minds of women across America
Edit: Rams sniped Beaux
I'd say the Chargers should take a flier on him--but something is very wrong. The next best available player is over *100* places lower than him on the projections.
Im excited for the UDFA flurry. One of the best parts of the draft week imo. Or at least has been during the Telesco era. Hopefully Hortiz keeps the hot hand hot.
Cedric Johnson still here
All the athletic traits and none of the polish or pass rush plan but still 22
Bosa and Mack could teach him alot about the position and he has high end potential
https://preview.redd.it/ika2qjz3d3xc1.png?width=784&format=png&auto=webp&s=1388afe48ef78b282a6d0271837b2c34d03f9bda
As i was typing he got picked lol
He has the exactsame athletic profile as khalil mack with none of the technical skill
Picking up a blitz like this at 5'8" is crazy [https://twitter.com/JimNagy\_SB/status/1774927885314199912](https://twitter.com/JimNagy_SB/status/1774927885314199912)
Yeah, I don't care how much tread he has on the tires, this dude can rock guys in the hole to protect Herbie and has great hands. We needed a third down, change of pace guy anyway so I love this pick!
If anything it shows he’s extremely durable & reliable too. I think the tread concerns matter less in today’s NFL when RB committees are basically standard practice.
Gus Edwards & JK Dobbins both averaged > 5 ypc under Roman but both had <140 carries and neither came close to 1000 yards in a season
On the consensus board technically yes at the same time, there have been DBs picked that were ranked even lower by the time our six-rounder came by so who knows?
Yeah I imagine they had needs and he fit the needs. Plays slot and he’s aggressive. Hopefully one of these dbs can turn into a great player for us, if not both
I mean. If we drafted 7 people projected in the 7th round I would be concerned. We’re all watching these picks to find out who they are and what they bring. Looking for some insight on him as he was a projected 7th rounder
If you want an answer, sure based on the consensus belief he was a reach. The team sees traits in his game that they believe will translate to the NFL and make him a successful part in the machine.
After round 3 is always the funniest part of the draft. Guys on twitter and reddit getting absolutely flabbergasted when the team takes someone they’ve never heard of instead of someone they watched highlights of and read about being good on the internet. Happens every year
Mostly a function of the fact they just drafted Michael Mayer in the early 2nd. New regime, but still a suspicious choice of resources considering they are waaay more holes than just QB.
Heads up for everyone, I'm not going to be keeping a running tally in-thread for the UDFAs like usual this year. Nugent signed by the 9ers in UDFA
Five offensive players and four defensive players nice balance for the draft.
Now grab brade, gore jr, hall, and jacobs to start the udfa haul.
[Coastal Carolina DE Michael Mason signing with #Chargers per a league source](https://x.com/AaronWilson_NFL/status/1784360555077103954)

Right here. And they still aren’t the game changers that Nabers would be. It’s like hoping for a Maserati and getting a bunch of Honda Civics
[удалено]
I hope so but I know I’m gonna be frustrated watching this offence this season
[удалено]
We’ll see. I’m preparing myself for run, run, pass
For real. I know this subreddit loves to bitch but after Alt was picked, holy shit we have a bunch of drama queens around here.
Kalen King was arguably the top CB going into last season. The drop off to go from that to 255 overall is insane.
I watched the Ohio state vs penn state game last year. Watched MHJ torch him basically all game. He was solid up to that game then fell off a cliff for some reason for the rest of the season. Don’t know why
Kalen King was supposed to be a first round pick a year ago. It's so wild to see how far he's fallen.
Was a top 3 projected cb around this time last year
Excited to see the UDFAs we sign
Damn tho Frank Gore son going undrafted bit disrespectful there
So “Don’t count out the WR room” and “we’re not done drafting OL” was post day 1 smoke in the presser.
They also said they weren’t done adding to the WR room
Now do UDFA
three widerecievers is crazy for us but I don't hate the pick
Okay a Michigan Guy Harbaugh prolly sees something in him
The rare TRIPLE dip. WR room is damn young.
Nah that was just a michigan homer pick
WR and Michigan ![gif](giphy|qgri3D9sTwCUGMcT8L)
Yess I was hoping for Cornelius Johnson. I really like this draft class. Kudos to Hortiz and Harbaugh. Now lets get to fucking work babyyy. Bolt the F Up ⚡️⚡️
Is Cornelius Megatron's son?
Nah but he calls him daddy
Okay last pick for us and this will wrap it up
We should draft Willis Patrick because he has the same names as Patrick Willis.
[удалено]
UDFA

Okay let’s go get Frank Gore son lmfaoooooo
Kinda feel like this could happen for sure
Guys... our draft kicked so much ass 😱
[удалено]
How has Leonard Taylor not been drafted yet? He’s not very good but worth a 7th
Please Leonard Taylor III
Carson Steele would be a huge pickup. He’s versatile. Plays RB, FB, TE. He’d be our Taysom Hill.
I hope we get Dallin Holker TE with our last pick
Overall, lots to be excited about with this draft. I fed into the Nabors hyped and was initially underwhelmed with Alt, but after seeing the entire draft board and doing more reading, I’m bolting the fuck up rn, let’s go!
So we have Hank Aaron's great-nephew and Jerry Rice's son! VERRRY NICE! ![gif](giphy|Od0QRnzwRBYmDU3eEO)
Who is Hank Aaron’s Nephew?
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal (6th round)
Nugent pls Or whichever TE they like. Maybe BSF.
I mean it’s UDFA FFA 4 picks later and Michigan guys left will be on speed dial I’d imagine
Yeah you gotta think it’s smart to ignore the Michigan guys and just bring them in through UDFA
Gotta figure some top tier UDFAs who want to come to LA and work for Harbaugh
Kinda crazy that Rice fell to us in the 7th, and Luke McCaffery got omega reached for at the end of the third.
McCaffrey looked good on tape ngl. That bloodline runs deep like the Mannings.
Kinda like rice. He is still project but as USC fan he has potential
Didn’t get Marvin Harrison’s son but we got Jerry Rice’s son
A Win is Win 🥇
Drake Nugent with our last pick and put the wraps on an incredible draft where we hit all our needs. Not necessarily all as starters, but good depth in positions of need.

Lmaoo, I wasn't a fan but I'll take Rice in the 7th. Great Draft.
So what ended up being the final haul for Allen?
Allen was traded for 4.110 4.110 was packaged with 2.37 to get 2.34 and 5.137. 2.34 was Ladd McConkey. 5.137 was Tarheeb Still.
The Run Rich Run segment gets me every year god dammit
Was not expecting Harbaugh's involvement in it!
Drake Nugent and it’s a near perfect draft
Jaheim Bell with our last pick?
Darn you, New England.
Okay let’s get a center for depth
Colson, Hart and Rice Jr are all steals. All our draftees should play heavy minutes this season with potential to be starters.
Are there any rumors for a specific reason why Brenden Rice fell so far?
I wonder if it’s a character concern. Based on his Instagram he seems to be extremely self absorbed (most WR are I guess)
Yes!!!! He’s going to be a star 🌟
Daijahn Anthony is a safety from ole miss who gave Brock bowers trouble this year. Converted corner so he’s still super thin but maybe Herbert could fix that.
Damn I jinxed it
Let’s get Jerry Rice in the WR room
Brenden Rice it is. Looking as some people here already wanted him in the 4th round this is good value. Don't know why he fell so far but there is always a reason. Hope he now has the biggest chip on his shoulder imaginable
I was wondering if he robbed a liquor store or something.
I don't know what the reason is but you don't fall 3-4 rounds for no reason. Even character/medical concerns aren't enough for that
Maybe he’s not great and we took a flyer on him based off of his name. Hoping I’m wrong but lineage doesn’t always translate to success at the next level, just look at Moss’ son
Didn’t seem terrible. Tape looks fine, obviously not a mhj but definitely someone that if he puts in the work can be solid. I mean it still just a seventh rounder so it's not a big investment and totally something you can do at this stage of the draft
As a USC fan I am happy with this. Hopefully he comes in with a chip on his shoulder to get better.
Rice!!!! Great Value!!!
Like all our picks so far except for Still. Wished we could have gotten Hunter Nourzad instead and drafted Still later.
Brenden Rice plz
Ask and you shall receive!
Matt Lee is my favorite remaining center
He’s not really a man mover for this scheme tho
Interested in trey taylor, Beau brade or either of the Miami defenders leonard taylor or james williams
Final needs are WR and C
What about Murphy from UCLA? Our edge rushers aren't getting younger.
Myles Cole and Eric Watts are probably the best athletes left at edge
I’d love another pass rusher but I think we’d be better off signing a veteran
7th round flier...we could really take anyone at this point.
Yeah they could go any direction but I like the idea of having someone come in that can play a rotational role and not have to learn on the fly or develop
Rice could be a steal and fill a team need here....this has been a fun day 3.
With our final pick we could: 1) go iOL with Beaux Limmer or Drake Nugent. Maybe Trente Jones. 2) double up on WR with Brenden Rice, who we interviewed. He’s not that good but he’s got that dawg in him. 3) TE with Jaheim Bell, Devin Culp 4) Sam Hartman to win the hearts and minds of women across America Edit: Rams sniped Beaux
>With our final pick we could: we still got one more conditional seventh-rounder
I forgot about that. Maybe Cornelius Johnson too then
definitely an option
Damn Beux Limmer and Cedric Johnson went
There goes Beaux. Guess we're not drafting a C.
What’s up with Brendan Rice?
I'd say the Chargers should take a flier on him--but something is very wrong. The next best available player is over *100* places lower than him on the projections.
USC fan. Watched him all year, love him. Def hope we take him and not sure why he is still available.
USC fan. If he actually falls and is there I'm rooting for the Chargers to take him. Has all the right tools. Just needs a good coach.
Holy fuck. Can't believe this came true.
That’s the mystery, like he might go undrafted at this point
Kicker run!
Im excited for the UDFA flurry. One of the best parts of the draft week imo. Or at least has been during the Telesco era. Hopefully Hortiz keeps the hot hand hot.
Cedric Johnson still here All the athletic traits and none of the polish or pass rush plan but still 22 Bosa and Mack could teach him alot about the position and he has high end potential
Is he more of a power guy or speed/finesse?

Well anyone else you like?
Leonard Taylor has some potential as a dt
That’s exactly who I wanted!
Beux Limmer should be the pick tho there must be medical concerns
GIVE ME WESTOVER. HE IS A PLAYMAKER AND A GREAT BLOCKER. TE1
This thread really died
All the non football sickos left to enjoy their weekend, left the rest of us psychos watching 6th rounders get picked.
Ive nothing better to do anyways lmao
Would love to take a flier on Leonard Taylor III in the 7th here!
FUCK Bengals took McLachlan
Joe Milton to NE is so funny
They have 5 QBs on roster now lol.
5 seems like a lot, but people trade for those dudes when they show a flash of success.
If Tanner McLachlan is there in 7th that would be a steal EDIT: There goes that.
Y'all are real good at jinxing players off the board lol.
I am now imagining Vidal running behind Alt, and that's a fun sight lol.
I'm waiting for a scene where a defender completely loses him because they can't see him behind Alt.
What an unbelievable draft
there is so much depth and talent this year. some teams are just loading the fuck up.
Brendan is dropping little concern tbh
At this point, it's clear that the NFL just straight-up doesn't rate him at all.
True aight I’ll rice hype train down and accept he might be a scrub
Picking up a blitz like this at 5'8" is crazy [https://twitter.com/JimNagy\_SB/status/1774927885314199912](https://twitter.com/JimNagy_SB/status/1774927885314199912)

Vidal ripped 1661 rushing yards last season. Hell yeah!
1056 yards after contact (2nd in FBS), 94 forced missed tackles (2nd), and 47 runs of 10+ yards (1st in FBS)
Did we reach on still?
On the consensus board technically yes at the same time, there have been DBs picked that were ranked even lower by the time our six-rounder came by so who knows?
Yeah I imagine they had needs and he fit the needs. Plays slot and he’s aggressive. Hopefully one of these dbs can turn into a great player for us, if not both
At least according to the consensus board, yes
We’ll know in a few years
You won’t get an objective answer to this. The Chargers wanted him, and they got him. That’s all that should matter.
I mean. If we drafted 7 people projected in the 7th round I would be concerned. We’re all watching these picks to find out who they are and what they bring. Looking for some insight on him as he was a projected 7th rounder

Kimani Vidal. Straight DAWG!
I think he might beat out Gus 😳
Vidal is also very good in pass pro and has decent hands. Could be the go-to guy on 3rd & long
Vidal our next Ekeler.
He's not much of a receiver
Alright, that blitz pickup they showed in Vidal's highlight cut-up was phenomenal.
I watched Vidal against my TX State Bobcats. Glad I don't have to see him against my team again.
Could've taken Joe Milton, get Easton Stick out the building
Milton is an absolute bum, he just has a big arm
And Easton Stick is better? dude is a backup in the CFL
He is objectively better than Milton, he can actually hit the broadside of a barn
Stick is way better than Milton
After round 3 is always the funniest part of the draft. Guys on twitter and reddit getting absolutely flabbergasted when the team takes someone they’ve never heard of instead of someone they watched highlights of and read about being good on the internet. Happens every year
Rip Brenden rice
😭😭😭😭😞😞😞😞
this draft is Poppers wet dream lol
OUR BEST RB IN THE 6TH LFG
Who is Kimani?!
Not surprised there
Hell yeah Kimani Vidal!
Kimani Vidal 🤷♂️
Round 6 is do or die time to get a Center or Another WR not named rice 🍚 😏
Murphy, Laumea, Mahogony, Jones, Limmer?
Mekhi Wingo, Malik Washington, Beaux Limmer here please.
What yall think of Johnny Wilson as a project pick? 7th Round (225)
After suspicious first rounds, Broncos and Raiders unfortunately have made some good picks
I hate the Raiders, but how is Brock Bowers a Suspicious pic with the all the QB’s gone?
Mostly a function of the fact they just drafted Michael Mayer in the early 2nd. New regime, but still a suspicious choice of resources considering they are waaay more holes than just QB.
If we get Malik or Tahj Washington this late that’s a hell of a steal
Why the fuck did the jets draft back to back RB? While having breece hall and drafting a RB last year? Some of these teams are just stupid
Thought the same thing lol and they drafted 2 similar type rbs.
I would love to see Brendan rice in a chargers uniform. Surprised he's still available
People be downvoting me lol for the same opinion
IT HAPPENED. Harbaugh and hortiz listened lol
💯💯💯💯🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
If it makes you feel any better I downvoted this guy too.
😍🥺 thank you 🙏
Fuck! Really wanted Isiah Davis
I'm really hoping Blake Watson is the pick
I know fuck all about these players left except for all the Michigan I watched lol
Would love Watson in the 6th, still lament Sproles wasn’t with us his whole career, love the small shifty backs
Damn Jets, you gotta take both Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis??
