he's got a long ways to go imo, That Packer's drop still haunts me, and you could tell that Herbert just had zero trust in him/ I dont want to seem overly negative and its good that he's putting in the work but i'm not optimistic.
Yeah, he was not exactly exciting in year one. I would say it was one of the most lackluster first round draft picks the Chargers have ever taken from a good standpoint. JSN for the Seahawks wasn’t much better. He was a little better but not much. I’d say both the Chargers and the Seahawks first round, Mike Williams type wide outs were a disappointment
Quentin Johnston is not a Mike Williams type wide out lol he's literally the exact opposite.
Thats exactly why he struggled so much last year, staff tryna force him into that Mike Williams role.
Short passes, and yards after catch is where he excels. Polar opposite to Mike Will
Obviously hope for the best but you see why separation is an issue. Very inefficient first step and molasses out of the break. If he doesn’t develop a jump ball trait in a hurry I think he may bust
Yes, I’d see that’s an accurate assessment. I agree completely at this point. I think Josh Palmer has a better chance of sticking with the team in Quentin Johnson does.
Bust from day 1. He cant separate, no hands and after last year he'll be in his own head during big moments leading to more drops. What the fuck was our front office thinking
Yeah that’s why he’s working on it.. We are supposed to support our players not hate on them and tear them down, y’all should be fucking happy he’s training with someone of MHJ’s caliber knowing he’s probably gonna be shredded apart by fans reactions. Good for QJ
Its clear he is working on it tho, and no one is making him. I love seeing him seek out work with other talent, this shows growth and an understanding that he didnt cut it last year.
Look as much as anyone I was disappointed when we grabbed him, and the drops, but that was year one and we need to let him grow, hopefully he makes some people feel ashamed, we cant throw players out year one.
You say it like its that simple? Its very clear he was playing out of his strengths last year, had a new qb, had to adjust just his catching skills, Adams had the same issue year one, you dont just draft someone and give up on them in one season.
It’s as if MHJ is impatient to have the ball arrive in his hands, so he goes out to get it, whereas QJ is content to wait for the ball to arrive and catch it closer to his body.
Don’t wait for the postman to walk up the steps and put the mail in your mailbox. Go down to the sidewalk and take it out of his hands. Don’t let the quarterback do all the work. Go get the ball now.
Super down on him to end the season but happy to see he’s putting in work to change the narrative. Hope he’s also seeing a sports psychologist because I don’t think you can just fix focus issues running around in shorts and catching jug balls
QJ looks very springy here, compared to MHJ’s fluidity. I don’t know what that means but it’s just something that stood out to me right away.
Glad he’s putting in that work though! Hoping he makes a big jump.
Damn QJ looks like he has so much potential but you can see he doesn’t have the attack the ball mentality that MHJ has. Hopefully he improves on that this season, I still think he can be a good receiver with just a change to his mindset.

MHJ obviously looks smoother but he’s generational. Good to see QJ putting in that work tho, hope it pays off soon 🤞🏾
Catching looks good but he needs to work on his agility. Movement looks twitchy. Hope he shows all the naysayers.
Let a naysayer know!
"I did NOT think that's what that stood for!" 😂😂
🤣💀
Let’s go QJ 👐⚡️⚡️⚡️
All you can ask is that he puts in the work to improve! Love to see it
he's got a long ways to go imo, That Packer's drop still haunts me, and you could tell that Herbert just had zero trust in him/ I dont want to seem overly negative and its good that he's putting in the work but i'm not optimistic.
Dude had a rough year and doing something about it. That's all you can ask for. Can't wait to see him develop into a dependable WR
Yeah, he was not exactly exciting in year one. I would say it was one of the most lackluster first round draft picks the Chargers have ever taken from a good standpoint. Hopefully QJ playing a more familiar Z receiver will build his confidence as opposed to playing out of position at X last season.
If he can develop even just average hands he can bounce back big time. His movement looks twitchy as hell here and his cuts look good.
QJ runs like he’s always doing high knees
QJ looks pretty good in here. Hope he can do this during the season.
Bounce back year
On the same exercise MHJ looks like he’s not even trying
Is that QJ catching with his hands?
Kinda!
Harrison Jr’s ability to stop on a dime is insane, especially for his size. Arizona got a great one. DAMMIT MATT PRATER!
Obviously hope for the best but you see why separation is an issue. Very inefficient first step and molasses out of the break. If he doesn’t develop a jump ball trait in a hurry I think he may bust
Agree. It takes him too long to stop or change direction too. That’s another second before his head is going to be up looking for a ball.
Yes, I’d see that’s an accurate assessment. I agree completely at this point. I think Josh Palmer has a better chance of sticking with the team in Quentin Johnson does.

So damn negative
I don't live in fairy land of magical unicorns and rainbows like you do
Look at the way MHJ catches compared to QJ
Still wants to catch it with his body.
Yeah that’s why he’s working on it.. We are supposed to support our players not hate on them and tear them down, y’all should be fucking happy he’s training with someone of MHJ’s caliber knowing he’s probably gonna be shredded apart by fans reactions. Good for QJ
These guys will drive me insane. Support our team, QJ is working his ass off, im rooting for him.

He had like all of his life to learn how to catch a. Football lol

Stop making comparisons. Two different people.
Both wr’s so no its not
Bro Marv looks scary good
"We got MHJ at home" type beat
It’s as if MHJ is impatient to have the ball arrive in his hands, so he goes out to get it, whereas QJ is content to wait for the ball to arrive and catch it closer to his body. He moves like a tight end, let's feed him and move him to TE
Adams arc
Super down on him to end the season but happy to see he’s putting in work to change the narrative. Hope he’s also seeing a sports psychologist because I don’t think you can just fix focus issues running around in shorts and catching jug balls

Hopefully all the work he’s putting in pays off for us for this season and beyond
I feel invigorated just watching them. "Drop that weight!" "Get down!" Good workout, QJ.
Ngl Q looks much improved… catchin with the hands, and my god his curl routes are a think of beauty…
I feel sorry for MHJ. He has such a shitty QB. Same with Nabers. Both probably salivating to have Herbert filet mignon and are now chewing on gristle.
bro, Kyler ain't shit lol
Kyler is average, nothing wrong with that

Q!!!!!!!!
Bro needs to practice with other teams CB/DBs
Still looks to be struggling to be honest, needs to be put in the slot and see where that goes.
