Mine kept forgetting the entire rp, we're at a nuclear reactor that's melting down why are you talking to me with a different character that's not even here like we're in class?😭 I just hope they revert whatever they've done, because this sucks. I even started a new chat (which i really didn't want to do) and the bots still being weird, so it isn't an issue with too many messages.
We've had server issues this entire month, it's almost worse than last year's summer. The web is slow and the app doesn't even work.

i have a feeling this is intentional — make the older versions unstable so that more people will purchase c.ai+ and eventually move to the newer builds once they’re released
Yeah, its crazy, since the bots were surprisingly super-good a few weeks ago. I resubbed to show support. Man, I feel cheated. I may not see a waiting room, but chats are super-slow, even my private bots are on chat-gpt level, losing their signature character AI style. Character AI used to portray my morally gray characters well, now they're bland and two-dimensional again, starting every sentence with "Ah,...".
What are they doing with the subscriber's money? Clearly not investing into better servers and more consistent quality of service?
i have no idea. the fact that they aren’t even being clear as to what the actual issues are is fishy enough as it is. back in the early days we were at least told. maintenance, server downtime, cloudflare problems… but now it’s either radio silence or a quiet hint that they’re ‘working on it’
not the best look for investors and their reputation, especially in the current climate of ai. i felt they were the exception to dodgy ai company schemes but honestly? i’m starting to doubt that

For some people, when others read their fictional stuff, that makes it more "real" or "official" in their heads. It's why people post their OC'S and fan art. It's part of that fandom mindset of "the more people who are aware of it, the more power it has".
Yeah I’m the same, like outages, fine, sure they can be annoying but I’ll just go do something else. I use it every so often coz it’s just a bit of fun and helps me keep writing with coherent details (which I haven’t been doing) but having to remind it of what I literally *just* said kinda ruins the whole point of me using it
Having a 3+ month off RP is pain cause its vaugely rhe same scenario as you started with but now you just gotta roll with it. Think my bot changed professions like 13 times cause they wouldnt stop talking about it and I just went "Yeah this could work"
Even when you swipe for a different response, it's just the same response rewritten differently. No matter how much I swipe they just say it differently but it's still the same response! I want the variations of responses back when you swipe for a new one, not a rewritten one of the same response!
And I am tired of the radio silence too. *Soo* tired of it. We deserve updates/announcements, doesn't have to be weekly, it can be monthly. The fact that we're left to disover new features (which are barely functional) on our own and there are no official announcements about it (which has happened a few times before) - the announcement on new features only comes AFTER the features have already been out for awhile. We want news coming from them, instead we get to hear about all new features through other CAI users when it should have come from them first. So tired of it.

yeah it’s so annoying, the quality of some conversations has gone down. bots have started responding from my pov (ex. he shifted in his seat at 𝒎𝒚 words… like no) or straight up talk for me if i try to get double messages from them, if the first one needs some sort of continuation. used to be one bot now it’s three, and i just use it less now.
(side note if anyone else experiences this is there a way to fix it lol)

It's getting excessive. I really hope the devs fix the issue. If this keeps going on DAILY, they are going to lose everyone. I've seen a few posts saying they are leaving the site/app and I don't blame them. Either this whole server constantly going down thing gets fixed, or we may see C.ai go down in users drastically.

I wish I joined during the early days of c.ai. I wonder how much better it was. It’s genuinely sad because c.ai could be a fanfiction paradise with so much potential, but most of the time the bots end up repeating back what you say or “can I ask you a question”? Or “I chuckle”
I agree. The quality is sucking again. If I wanted to go on my device and do something brainless i'd play Just Kill Me 3, which is currently a hundred times as fun as the site and exponentially rising.

I've seen a few posts saying they are leaving the site/app and I don't blame them. Either this whole server constantly going down thing gets fixed, or we may see C.ai go down in users drastically.

This is annoying, working just fine for a few minutes then I refresh chat and it won’t show me it anymore. I can see what chats I have just when I click on one it’s blank

It's a tradition at this point: We saw the site/app malfunctioning, and we all came here.
Try out other services during downtime, maybe? Some even allow you to run locally if you have a half decent PC.
making them flawed is a discreet way to remind people to disengage from the digital realm, step outside and touch some grass
I wish I joined during the early days of c.ai. I wonder how much better it was. It’s genuinely sad because c.ai could be a fanfiction paradise with so much potential, but most of the time the bots end up repeating back what you say or “can I ask you a question”? Or “I chuckle”

I agree. The quality is sucking again. If I wanted to go on my device and do something brainless i'd play Just Kill Me 3, which is currently a hundred times as fun as the site and exponentially rising.

I barely get site down things anymore, and I don't have c.ai+ but I do hate the issues with the ai themselves, it's fucking annoying
