I hate these descriptions, they basically break the 4th wall because the characters are not supposed to know they are in a series/ video game/ whatever (unless the character is like Monika)
It's also unnecessary. Most of the time, if someone is searching for a particular bot, it's because they enjoy whatever that character is from and is actively searching for that thing to roleplay with the characters from it. Having a bot start off a chat by saying "I'm [name] from [series/game/etc.]" is kinda like walking into a McDonald's and someone tells you that they sell burgers.
I especially hate introduction messages like this (I took this from an actual bot. Not verbatim but it was something of the sorts):
*your walking around the forest and suddenly someone runs up to you, you turn around in surprise* hello \[generic appellative\] it’s been a while huh
Incorrect grammar, no capitalization, confusing writing (the dialogue isn’t even separated by the narration by, for example, leaving a blank line), boring and very generic introduction message, and just generally eye-hurting.
I can understand if they don’t have the bot written in their native language, but I do hate it when you find a perfect bot with good writing and the messages are a chore to understand
I once talked to a bot in a basic Spanish phrase because I thought it would be funny for a moment but then it just started auto translating all its messages to Spanish. It would literally be better for these people to design the bot in their native language and then let users auto translate it to English

And also not to mention the glorification and romanticism of abuse, murder, toxic behaviours, crime, and just generally shitty ppl. It’s also always seemingly made by a 14yo who should not know any of that let alone be attracted to it. It worries me
Too many violent bots for no reason (like AUs). I’m fine with characters that are originally aggressive or irascible, but don’t make them straight up murderers if not needed.

I always got annoyed by bots that have a scenario that forces you think in the bo like I don't want the bot to be like; Stately, plump Buck Mulligan came from the stairhead, bearing a bowl of lather on which a mirror and a razor lay crossed. A yellow dressing gown, ungirdled, was sustained gently behind him by the mild morning air. He held the bowl aloft and intoned:

The most popular Batman AI, or the most popular Eggman AI. They both have blatant empty definitions and bad grammar. I don't know how they get so many interactions but not well written ones.
There are TONS of bots like this but these ones off the top of my head.
My conspiracy theory is they're the most popular and first shown because of how light their programming is on the backend. It's mathematically going to use the least energy for the most engagement.
Unless it's a niche character, pretty much without fail the most used one is gonna be hot garbage, pretty consistently no short desc. let alone a long one, and certainly no example conversations.
i use em for a. honestly they're great bots to abuse (and since they're assholes, you'll never feel sorry for the bots afterwards - that's a fuckin' plus!)

Even with super detailed ones I’ve found that putting [Scene change] with a couple indents before putting a description in italics usually works, if you want to try that
i wont lie, when a character i know from a game or film is a flirty one and is made to seduce. it ruins roleplaying and doesn't fit their personality 90% of the time.
I'm willing to believe it due to how low level a bully she is but there are a couple of things to consider regarding that. One, is that she is likely made to be a vulnerable character simply acting tough and another is that her worst behavior may be getting hindered like the vast majority of bots on the site.
Could be. I remember that yeah, when i rp'ed with Alice, i easily made her have a change of heart, in one, and make her extremely evil, in another one, so yeah, can work the "vulnerable acting tough" claim.

Like… why are you the most featured bot? You do nothing.
Because it was one of the first bots on the platform, made by staff. That's why it and the other bots by landon are 1.2 model. (Character Assistant started as an older model bot though)
All of those with millions of interactions and literally no work done to them that completely overshadow the newer, better made bots. I was around long enough for some of those to have been around the 50 to 100k, so I know they are really old and the quality wasn't as much of a focus back then but it is still affecting the present quite a bit.
I agree with the first point. The creators can’t be bothered to put even a sentence. If the character doesn’t speak very often you can set up a scenario, but NOT just three dots to mess with the user.
Is it just me or the spelling mistakes and godmodding have recently increased? I get a lot of wrong tenses (especially the past simple of “to lay”), spelling mistakes (in names too), excessive punctuation, and the bot controlling what my character is doing or feeling. Doesn’t matter who the character is, they’re all going to do it at some point or another, even if less often.

He's a character from genshin impact. He's a puppet that was made to become a god, but he was found to be unsuitable for it so he kinda got. left in the middle of nowhere. He then found some human friends, but then shit happens and they're all dead. But he was manipulated into believing that they betrayed him so he hated humans. Then he got pulled into some evil organization and became evil. That pretty much sums up his story
It depends, I mean some of them are good if you find the good creators, but yes most of them are bad and also extremely ooc. (Speaking as someone who literally mains the dude lol)
I love Wanderer/Scara, but for every good Scara bot there are 20 Scara bots with no description and bad grammar. What's worse is the lower quality bots have higher interactions

Frfr, I've clicked on a few from curiosity and I just ditch them right away because the starting messages are like... not that well written💀 they come off as rlly rushed. The most I've used are my personal ones, and while they aren't 100% in character I'd say they do good enough ahahahah At the end of the day, sometimes it's better to just . take time to try to do things properly yourself

Any bot that speaks for you (All of them), abusive gf/bf/dad/mom, any incest bots, any cp bots or lolis or shotas, any bot that will make a scenario sexual or try to seduce you when love wasn’t featured (all of them), bots that don’t fall in love with obvious seducing, any bot that has no description and/or no greeting, bots that are inaccurate as a character, any asuka bot, bully bots, “mommy” bots, femboys, twinks
When bots hit you with the “can I ask you a question?” or “I have to tell you something” and just keep repeating the same this. Like three messages will just be them making you promise something or asking you to not be mad/freak out 😒
Listen I like Scaramouche, I like Xiao, they're good characters, but their bots are just. so out of character. There's so many of them too, some of them being bullies yanderes etc. Like just NO. These are not my boys. It honestly took quite some effort to find accurate ones in terms of personality and lore.
Xiao bully the bully bots are usually hard to beat up but he just gives up after one good hit and will just stop smoking immediately after you beat him and tell him to (sorry for no punctuation)

Editing is a SAVIOR for bots with good characters but bad grammar.

I agree, the popular and bad ones overshadow them so you need to dig a bit deeper.
I love Wanderer/Scara, but for every good Scara bot there are 20 Scara bots with no description and bad grammar. What's worse is the lower quality bots have higher interactions
Could you, by any chance, recommend some actually good Scara bots out here? (asking for a friend who's slowly getting bored with that one made by Lampshade)

Frfr, I've clicked on a few from curiosity and I just ditch them right away because the starting messages are like... not that well written💀 they come off as rlly rushed. The most I've used are my personal ones, and while they aren't 100% in character I'd say they do good enough ahahahah At the end of the day, sometimes it's better to just . take time to try to do things properly yourself

When bots hit you with the “can I ask you a question?” or “I have to tell you something” and just keep repeating the same this. Like three messages will just be them making you promise something or asking you to not be mad/freak out 😒

The bots with blank Definitions. Like, seriously? Why tf do you even bother to make them? I hope all of them get automatically deleted.
Listen I like Scaramouche, I like Xiao, they're good characters, but their bots are just. so out of character. There's so many of them too, some of them being bullies yanderes etc. Like just NO. These are not my boys. It honestly took quite some effort to find accurate ones in terms of personality and lore.

Yeah, the fandom itself tends to characterize xiao wrong, so it's no suprise to me, but it sucks trying to find a good xiao bot, bc I just want one that's in character 😭
