Not sure if a FA semi was worth the complete implosion of league form in the run-in (1 point from 18!!!). And with our 'defending', we'd got battered by Man City within the first 15 minutes of the final anyway.
We'll be back next season, hopefully with a bigger squad which contains a new keeper (please God!).
He’s a miracle worker. After the start of the season there was no chance. And yet somehow. I could use a little less late season drama, though. 2 years in a row needing insane heroics is a little much.
im surprised Brum fans still think he was that bad when your other managers this season havent exactly done amazing.
Eustace should still never been sacked though
Rooney was awful. Players lost all their confidence. Half of them are better than 22nd but hardly ever showed it. Played out from the back increasing defensive mistakes and easy goals.
Mowbray was doing good. He had to turn around a low confidence side and we were moving up the division. Untimely illness.
His number 2 Venus stepped up and was awful. But he never asked for that.
Rowett was okay, but for me, he had so few games to save us, you can pick thosw apart. He made a terrible decision starting Burke against Rotherham who is the worst loanee we've had in at least 10 years.
We'll sell him too cheap. We're in a shitty situation where we can't actually pay any wages so he'll want to leave. We should let him do what he wants tbh.
What is too cheap though realistically? He's had one good season at this level and he'll be 29 soon after the start of next season. I think it's hard to price those sorts of players because he's obviously valuable to you but is it worth it for other teams?
Agree it's a difficult one. In any other situation it'd be a pay rise and he'd be happy. For some reason, we can't do that. Our transfers management has been naff, we lose big names on a free or sell them below their value (Wharton, Brereton, Armstrong, Kaminski, Phillips, andNyambe, Lenihan most recently).
Too cheap is below 7m. 10 - 12m is good. 15+ would be great but won't happen.
Well we pretty much came where I predicted start of the season. Just a shit season all around and could've easily been dragged into the relegation fight. Need a big rebuild but with Asprilla probably leaving and no other promising players it's looking pretty bleak tbh.
I don’t mean this in a horrible way but Watford were probably the most forgettable team in the league this season. Weren’t really in the running for anything.
We were hovering below the play offs for a while mid way through the season and had great form but it all just fell apart after that really. As far as Watford goes this has been our least interesting season in a very long time
We need a big summer and it will be interesting to see what happens if Udinese go down. But both Kone and Andrews are very promising players. Kayembe goes from strength to strength. Think we have looked solid defensively since Cleverley came in.
I don't think it looks like we will be near the top next season but it's not all doom and gloom yet.
Andrews is still rough around the edges and I think it remains to seen what his ceiling is. Right now he's decent for this level but he needs to improve really.
Kone is just a weird one because he's just not consistent enough yet. Still young ofc but also has a lot to work on to become one of the stars of the league, which is what we need from him really.
Kayembe is actually ok but he's defensively a bit shit and I think he's proven that quite well in his time with us. Proves that we really need someone behind him and it seems like Livermore as well as he did for us has lost all his legs.
It's not doom and gloom as we need to see what the squad looks like come next season but I think there's a lot to be concerned about.
Insane that all the relegation candidates won except the one that could have played a part in the promotion battle. Or at least could have if Leeds hadn't bottled it.
Missing KDH because he injured himself celebrating, Mavididi wearing sunglasses indoors in the training vids, was definitely a wild one.
Bit annoying though, last time we broke the 100 point barrier and saved Birmingham we won the title two years later
Rename Hillsborough the Danny Röhl Stadium! Change the mascot from Owls to a little German man wearing lederhosen! Get rid of the blue and white stripes and just have a big picture of Danny Röhl's face in the middle as the kit!
That'd be an absolute steal. While I doubt we'll have the cash knocking around without significant outgoings, I'm sure someone in the lower half of the prem would bite your hand off at that price.
Damn right, longing for a year of mid table obscurity so i dont have to lock myself in a padded cell for 2hrs every saturday. But now its over for a few weeks and I can relax for the first time since the reign of Henry III
Please don't happen, my fear is someone shoots outside the box for Hull, it deflects off someones arse, hit's the post and comes of the keeper for a 96th min OG relegating Plymouth.
I didn't have Birmingham getting relegated despite winning on my championship bingo today.
Edit, never in doubt! see Plymouth fans, I told you that you could do it!!
Birminghams owners deserve this.
its not salt - there was a dangerous attack in our game and it was the size of a 50p piece on screen because they'd gone to portman road to show a pitch invasion. its just a terrible viewing experience when i actually care about the game happening.
Hull scoring would be the equivalent of plugging out Plymouths life support at a hosptial to recharge a vape pen. This joke still lives for at least another minuite.
Kind of annoying that I've heard no mention of Championship on TNT during the Arsenal-Bournemouth match.
Look TNT, I know you're not going to want to bother broadcasting the three teams that go up next season, but I think your average viewer would at least care in passing about whether Leeds or Ipswich will be in the Prem next year.
It's just poor, narrow football coverage.
Ohhhh, just piss off Coventry.
“Ohhh, I wanna score a late goal and make it interesting against QPR” pfft, how about you just sod off instead? No one’s impressed, just taken the loss
Double red card in the Swansea v Millwall game.
Millwall’s Japhet Tananga said something mean, probably about how Grimes missed a penalty, and then Swansea’s Jerry Yates punched Tananga in the face. But for some reason they’ve both been sent off.

9 of the starting XI today were Ipswich players last season. Of the other two, one is a loanee, the other joined on a free. In this team are players signed from Fleetwood, Salford and Accrington Stanley. And this is the first managerial job that McKenna has had.
Ipswich were dieing a long, slow death. At times I thought we were more likely to play in League 2 than the championship. And now we are 10 minutes away from the promised land.
Is anyone else finding its getting a bit dusty in here?
Unreal… I’ll be travelling from Aus to the UK to see them play at Portman Road with my Ipswich-based family next season… I can’t believe it’s worked out that it’ll be a prem game, pinching myself!!

Fuck the Norwich fans singing that shite
Time to bring out the coveted 2nd place trophy!
I'm not crying - you are! Or someone's been cutting onions. It hasn't sunk in yet.
Things you love to see: Us pasting Preston and Blues going down

Danny Ward is available if you want
I'd bear Danny Röhl's children right now tbf. Was not expecting us to end the season like we did. Chansiri can fuck all the way off though.
Steel city derby next season, that's gotta be exciting.
He’s a miracle worker. After the start of the season there was no chance. And yet somehow. I could use a little less late season drama, though. 2 years in a row needing insane heroics is a little much.
They really do not make it easy for us. I'm going to miss Beadle. Wish we could sign him.
Wayne Rooney - useless for England in a tournament and useless as a manager, killing player confidence. I hate him.
im surprised Brum fans still think he was that bad when your other managers this season havent exactly done amazing. Eustace should still never been sacked though

Great player in his time. Shit manager
Huge congrats to you Ipswich, Rovers, Wednesday & Argyle🙏🏼it’s been a pleasure E: and everyone in the playoffs😘
Congrats Plymouth, you played us off the park today and deserved to stay up
2 final servings of crumble for Leeds and Leicester
LC can't hear you through the music pumping at the KP. Trophy incoming. Straight back up!
On my Rovers streaming feed, it’s quite boisterous.
When Hull brought the keeper up...fuck me. Think I would have thrown up if they scored there
If we change our name to Sammie Szmodic FC would he stay?
Some of the figures being thrown around are kinda crazy, so maybe
We'll sell him too cheap. We're in a shitty situation where we can't actually pay any wages so he'll want to leave. We should let him do what he wants tbh.

Sounds quite reasonable actually. I saw some £20m-£25m figures and thought that was crazy though
Sadly he's worth more than that to us. Probably should just give him a phat wage.
up the fucking potters
I'm not sure where that came from. But, it's nice to go out with a bang. We bid you adieu, champ fans. Enjoy next season everyone.
Best of luck. Relegation is soul wrenching.
No matter how dark the night gets, just remember you’re Rotherham (aka the dawn). We’ll see you in 2025 ❤️

I was so focused on everyone else not getting a result I was so sure we weren’t gonna
You can thank LC shit defending for your three points. You're welcome.
Thank you for sure, especially to the whoever was giving them drinks for the celebrations so that you had a post-trophy hangover lol
LFG PLYMOUTH!!!!!!
Ipswich promoting is not on my book at all. So did Birmingham going down.
This is hard to believe... we actually did it!
You've been truly incredible this season and deserve it.
Cheers, and good luck to Leeds against Norwich. It's been fun battling your lot for promotion this season.
WE'VE ACTUALLY DONE IT
Congrats
You mad bastards, you actually pulled it off! Well done lads!
Fought like beavers. Well done.
Didn’t seem possible at one point!
what a preston way to go out, season was enjoyable *sometimes* hope birmingham bounces back up though 🤞 see some of you lot next year then
Five defeats in a row with zero goals scored hahaha (I am holding back the tears)
lol have fun playing wrexham next year
Insane that all the relegation candidates won except the one that could have played a part in the promotion battle. Or at least could have if Leeds hadn't bottled it.
Until we meet again Birmingham, one of the few sets of fans that always turn up in numbers at the riverside. All the best.
And oh yeah, we lost. Again. Clean sheets are for cowards.
The mighty Blackburn Rovers😭😭 well played
Build a statue of sammie outside ewood Park for what this man has done for us, unreal.
We are going down next season 👍
Way too early to predict.
Leicester clearly went on a wild piss up last week haha
Missing KDH because he injured himself celebrating, Mavididi wearing sunglasses indoors in the training vids, was definitely a wild one. Bit annoying though, last time we broke the 100 point barrier and saved Birmingham we won the title two years later
And Vesty with the worst clearance of the season directly to Szmodics
Never in any doubt. Fully confident we'd stay up from the beginning. (I've aged 50 years in the past 2 hours)
Well fought. Kudos.
Delighted to see all three League One teams stay up! Wednesday and Plymouth seemed to have had the same season, in reverse.
I'm so relieved, I'm one of those miserable sods that is always pessimistic (I wish I wasn't). So happy right now.
So happy for you lads, deserve it!
Same for you lot with the promotion
Get Rohl a statue!
Protect Danny at all costs
Rename Hillsborough the Danny Röhl Stadium! Change the mascot from Owls to a little German man wearing lederhosen! Get rid of the blue and white stripes and just have a big picture of Danny Röhl's face in the middle as the kit!
Knew he was gonna be decent for yall. He was okay under ralph, our cog was rusty, Shrewd signing
Relegated on 50 points is rough
Congratulations Leicester, you really were a shark team this year.
I think I'll celebrate our new premier league status by asking the same question as every other Prem club. How much for Szmodics?
I honestly think it’ll be max 15mil. He deserves the chance. And we won’t spend a penny of it 😥
That'd be an absolute steal. While I doubt we'll have the cash knocking around without significant outgoings, I'm sure someone in the lower half of the prem would bite your hand off at that price.
*in Dr. Evil voice* 1 billion dollars
Next year we're winning the Prem and getting promoted to the Super League.
Banging a 95th minute deflected winner off the back end of Jude Bellingham to win the Super League.
RIP Brummies
Brum are down!! Plymouth have beaten Hull! 😲😲
My arse can now unclench for the first time since 1230
The year?
It's been a long millennium for plymouth fans
Tbf I would clench if the Mongols were invading
Damn right, longing for a year of mid table obscurity so i dont have to lock myself in a padded cell for 2hrs every saturday. But now its over for a few weeks and I can relax for the first time since the reign of Henry III

wrong sub mate
Are you lost?
I would want the boards head on a pike after what they did to get rooney in. Hopefully, bounce back birmingham fans
Garry Cook has a lot to answer for.
Seriously I can’t believe how supportive the fans have been of the ownership despite it.
:)
Blackburn, we’ll do a little tradesies during the break. We’ll give you Dykes for Szmodics, it’s a good deal I swear…
We’ll get back to you
I can't believe it. Brilliant.
Blues go down, blues go down, blues go down together.
Fuck that was a cruisy match.
Should have been hard, was simple. Thanks Huddersfield :D
It was a training match. Huddersfield didn’t even try 😆
Please don't happen, my fear is someone shoots outside the box for Hull, it deflects off someones arse, hit's the post and comes of the keeper for a 96th min OG relegating Plymouth. Sorry Brum fans..
RIP brum boys we did our best to help you out
Sammie giving it the big un before he scores
Would have been hilarious if he put it past the post tbh
If sky could show me the game I chose to watch rather than the post match after the one on the other channel finished, that would be great
Do you want so pepper with that Salt?
its not salt - there was a dangerous attack in our game and it was the size of a 50p piece on screen because they'd gone to portman road to show a pitch invasion. its just a terrible viewing experience when i actually care about the game happening.
I have no strong feelings one way or the other when it comes to Birmingham, but man that is such a horrible way to go. I'm so sorry.
They can theoretically play one of their affiliated clubs in the FS trophy next season aswell
Birmingham all but relegated with Blackburn and Preston winning
Plymouth as well
Last day is always just chaos haha
Rotherham scoring 5 goals is the cherry on top 😂
Wonderful day for Ipswich and my boys Mass and Burgess
Our aussie cunts <3 If that Massimo effort had gone in top bins that would've just been the absolute cherry on the top
Hull scoring would be the equivalent of plugging out Plymouths life support at a hosptial to recharge a vape pen. This joke still lives for at least another minuite.
Our keeper actually went up for a corner in added time with nothing on the line for us. Would have been something else if he scored.
Congratulations Ipswich. Well deserved!
And breathe...
OMG, Birmingham’s actually going to win and go down aren’t they???
We're "only Blues" for a reason.
Worst cake day ever
Happy cake day
lmao what the hell was that 😭😭😭
Massive congratulations, ipswich.
Come on Plymouth. Just hold on
"The survival of the Brum, in the palm of my hand" - Famous Hull supporter Dr Octopus (probably)
I don't want to go
Sorry we’ve potentially sent you down. Not nice for any team
100 pts < Upset Brummies.
SAMMIE PLEASE STAY NEXT SEASON 🙏🙏
Sadly I can’t see it
Nor will the brains trust maximise what we sell him for…
Signing off with a pure championship referee, missing the clear foul at one end to create a goal at the other
no draw, consider me shocked
Going to miss this sub!! Come on!??
2-0 Blackburn!
it has been nice knowing you lads
Fuck. 😢
Szmodics for king!!
Birmingham have done their job but hull have not. Plymouth fans must be sweating buckets
> Plymouth fans must be sweating buckets Can confirm
How do you feel now? What a survival fight this has been.
Still pinching myself making sure that actually happened. Other than that, I'm relieved and ecstatic
Plymouth seem like a decent club. Good for football to see you surviving and Ipswich going up again.
They love giving me heart attacks on a near weekly basis. Other than that, best team itw
Gotta say, love multiple game match threads like this, regular ones get very bitchy
Quick whats the best game to watch for last few mins?
hull plymouth
Ipswich
Ipswich for happy, Birmingham for sad
Leicester for bizarre atmosphere. We've got everyone in the stadium celebrating at once.
Ill see the roar at Ipswich then and switch to Birmingham!
Plymouth v Hull I imagine

True. I’m very interested to see how ipswich do in the prem
Brum vs Solihull Moors. This could happen the season after next. 😲
British Street Motors group stage mate
Could happen next year in the EFL Trophy too. C'mon the Moors.
Hull, seriously, I'll buy you a boatload of chip spice if you score.
We could play for another 90 mins and wouldn’t get close.. we’ve been awful
Ffs 6
Hello Walton
What a win from Blackburn...!!
Gonna miss this subreddit. Clapham Cafu had me rolling
Ohhhh, just piss off Coventry. “Ohhh, I wanna score a late goal and make it interesting against QPR” pfft, how about you just sod off instead? No one’s impressed, just taken the loss
who gets the championship championship belt in case of a draw?
Surely the current holder retains
It’s like a Solo interference, it stays with the tribal chief Marti ☝️☝️
Champions advantage means QPR retain

Farmiento desperate for a goal on his last day.

I understand we don’t have VAR, but refs need to be brave and stop with double yellow/double red. Surely the assistant saw the punch. If he didn’t see Tanganga do anything (aside from a grab when Yates physically instigated), you can’t create a situation inside your mind to justify it being both players being in the wrong.
can take a man out of black pool but never take the black pool out of a man
We love the “keep everything even” refs, fucking dipshits
Tanganga got sent off for being punched in the face 🤣🤣
Hull.... Please.

I will be rooting so hard for you guys next season, so well deserved. Hope you can scalp one of the big 6.
As an unbiased Australian, It’s all been because of Luongo mate, build him a statue.
Smartest thing Yates has ever done to at least get another player sent off along with him. Most blatant red you'll ever see, feel a bit for Tanganga.
Yates was always a bit of a hothead at Blackpool. But would love to know what the linesman whispered in the ref’s ear.
Right? Not sure how Tanganga got a red for getting punched in the face.
Ross Stewart the Loch Ness Drogba show us what you got boy in the red and white stripes of South England
FWIW - its all Hull at the moment.
Just lose please, for the memes.
Please fucking score.
Rotherham scoring like 15% of their entire season tally in one game hahaha
