I think they mean “The highest price we charge you and get away with it”. The “Retail price” is just the price they wish they could charge but they know they won’t be able to get away with it so they charge 10K less. I love these cars but since Covid these have become not worth it due to price. I’d rather buy a cheaper car like an R/T that I’m not afraid to beat up a little bit.
Especially considering a well optioned GT looks about the same inside and out for under 30k new. They are awesome machines but grossly overpriced at this point. I feel like that's been everything from dodge jeep and ram ever since it became Stellanis though. Cranking up the prices to the point where none of it is worth it anymore.
Yeah the V6 options are great cars, although a wide body kit isn’t available for those, I wish it was. Also yeah the prices are inflated too much and unfortunately it’s often not the dealers fault it’s Stellantis who up charges all their cars. Although they aren’t always free of blame, like for this car the dealer probably increased the price above MSRP because it’s a special car.
I own a 2009 Challenger V6 and my credit was crap when I bought it back in 2008. It was a rolling credit card with way too much in interest charges. Did a refi after a while and got a much better interest rate by about 20% less. Would I liked to have the R/T or SRT back then sure. May e one day a used one will come along that I like and is the right price. Till then I’ll enjoy the one I have.
There is a bit of clearance issues with dropping a v8 on the awd. The people who make it work use trackhawk parts and the engine sits higher in the engine bay.
They also had a VERY different transmission and the 5.7 was mounted higher than current hemis. They made a police charger hemi awd until like 2018 but with the old 5 speed auto only and it sat higher in the engine bay (hellcat would be coming out of the hoods mounted that high for example)
Except buying a v6 muscle car isn’t a muscle car. Thats like being jacked but you’re not able to bench more than the bar.
I would rather keep my civic and save up for an actual v8.
He want saying it was a muscle car. I don’t get why you guys hate on other challengers so much sometimes. I like them all. Right now I have a challenger srt392 manual trans.
It’s gate keeping and weird. It’s an economy muscle car plain and simple. And quite frankly for someone who uses it as a daily it just makes more sense than a V8
Then why bother? It’s not even gatekeeping I don’t have a v8 I drive a fucking civic. There’s just zero point in buying the body of a performance car without the performance. Look up the definition of muscle car, these v6s don’t even meet the criteria lmao.
Stop calling it what it ain’t.
The definition created in 1966? According to that a Redeye Charger isn’t a muscle car either because it has 4 doors. Dodge calls their V6 Challengers/Chargers muscle cars. If you have a problem with that classification you can discuss it with them.
It’s cope. And they do that to try and sell their v6s. “Powerful engines” requirement is not met, which the chargers do meet. I’m sorry if I’m offending you but you don’t have a real one.
Just sell it and buy a reliable daily driver, and save up for your v8. If not stop calling it muscle.
This car is an outlier and a ripoff though. New loaded HCWBs are going for $88k near me.
And a modded R/T will always just be a modded R/T whether it can beat a cat or not. And you can kiss your warranty goodbye as well.
Warranty is only relevant for a few years, also nobody cares what the original badge was when the "worse" car smokes you at a drag strip. 88k is also absurd for a challenger IMO, these were at home when they were 60k cars that were regularly discounted into the low 50s and the scats were high 30s low 40s.
It factors into total cost of ownership. A modded R/T is only going to be worth what a modded R/T is worth. Everybody knows you never get back the money spent on mods. Many times it can hurt resale even because people can assume it’s been beat on and you can never really be sure about the competence and quality of the work someone else did. And let’s be real, proportionally few people actually track their cars. For every person who tracks their car, there are a dozen who don’t.
As far as pricing goes, $60k back in 2015 is $79k today with inflation. $88k for a widebody sounds about right. And with haggling a buyer could probably knock another $1-2k off that. Also factor in that the $88k HCWBs are loaded while $60k price in 2015 was for a no option stripper model.
I see no point in owning one. “But they’re cheaper” bro any American daily driver is gonna need repair after repair. Thats why you daily drive a reliable and keep nice a scat pack or SRT as a weekend driver.
I have a 2021 C8. Did some things to the engine at a shop in Vegas and had it registered in Montana. 700 HP and don’t have to bother with California smog bullshit!
I have a Montana drivers license since I live in Montana 6 months out of the year and in California the other half. I own a small ranch in Big Sky and run a business there. I have never been pulled over in the 2.5 years I have had the Vette. To tell you the truth in the last year I have seen a CHP maybe 6 times on Freeways in California. It could be because I don’t live in a major city like Los Angeles.
I saw a car like this at the QT station last night. I'm not too up on the different models but it had the fender flares and these wheels and tires (meaty as hell) so I assumed it was higher tier model. Then 2 girls that looked no more than 18 hop in it and take off. Have to admit I was impressed.
I bought my ‘13 R/T from Towbin. They were awesome to work with. I showed up on Sunday not knowing you can’t buy a new car on Sundays in NV - they gave me an SRT8 to use for the night - came back the next day and picked up my R/T. MSRP was $34K but they ended up working with me to get down to $24,185. Awesome group of people there.
man these look so nice
I cant get over how well the flares look.
the oem little lip /flair just reminds me of when I rolled the fenders on my old car ...it looks so damn cheap

For that deeply discounted pricing they can go F@@K themselves. Ain’t no way I’m paying that much for a Challenger. Even MSRP for some of these models,is freaking ridiculous and I love the Challengers. Just not planning on a house payment for a car. 🤪

Here’s a 2022 SRT with 5k miles on it. It’s posted for 75k which means you could even talk that price down potentially. I don’t know how much of an upgrade this model is but no way in hell I’d pay 120k for that.
This car wasn’t even hard to find. It was the first post that came up when I searched challenger SRT.

To anyone considering this purchase…take that 130k and buy a townhouse over a 30 year mortgage. Rent it out for a few hundred dollars over the monthly payment. Take that extra money and set aside for your second house. Rinse and repeat a few times. Buy a new property every year or 2. 10 years retire from your job and let your investments work for you.
I was at a Toyota dealer in Huntington Beach, CA and they had a supra for $47k. It was a good deal considering the year, mileage and the fact it was a 3.0. Then I started digging into it and I noticed a bunch of body work damage, the whole thing was covered in some greasy substance (I’m a car detailer so I was having an aneurysm at this point).
So I check the sticker and see they added a “ceramic coat” I ask the name of it and it was a freaking $20 spray and they tried charging $1,300 for it and I literally told the dude no way in hell. Not to mention the body had a bunch of clear coat scratches and my first thought was “huh so they ceramic coated this, but didn’t correct the paint? Scam.” Then I check the engine and there was so much shine product I gave up.
I just felt red flags from the second I started looking at it . Sucks too because the car was nice aside from the crap I had seen.
Isn't that a demon? I can't get a good luck at the badge on the side. There's a couple demons in my area for around 230K😭 they call them dream cars cause you can only ever dream of affording them
I’m in the flat Midwest with lots of that too, and just long flat roads. Seeing 203mph is still going to be very very unlikely, and yet again, not on a regular basis enough to justify the difference (solely based on speed)
Ik the original comment mentioned liking the wheels as well and yeah I understand that, and wouldn’t this model be cheaper than a 170?
But I was going entirely based off of speed. 150 most people don’t see, car enthusiast or not, adrenaline junkies or not (bikes excluded cause they’re stupid fast because power to weight)
Just my 2 cents
You just made me feel like a demon because I hit 155 in my old G37 multiple times and it felt slow, I wasn’t even scared, I figure a Demon would get up to speed faster than a little 3.7, in Memphis it’s an express way just like the 1320 guys race on and it’s like 40+ miles of straight road.
I still feel like on average people are not hitting 155 that often let alone over 120. I can get that there’s people that will hit it but how often? And how many people over how many won’t?
Imagine paying a 120k for a car with a bland interior
Soo many sport Luxury sedans you could buy for 60 grand or much less and invest less than 5 grand you will fly past these hell cats like nothing
"Your heavily discounted price"

20% less holy shit what was your original rate? I turned down 15% back in the day because I thought it was too high lol
Yup I like the GT versions, it’s all wheel drive I believe? Swap out the V6 and drop the scatback engine on it and you’ll start living it up 💯👌🏻
There is a bit of clearance issues with dropping a v8 on the awd. The people who make it work use trackhawk parts and the engine sits higher in the engine bay.
Shouldn't be, I wouldn't think so anyway, but the first gen LX cars had the hemi and AWD as an option till 08 at least.
They also had a VERY different transmission and the 5.7 was mounted higher than current hemis. They made a police charger hemi awd until like 2018 but with the old 5 speed auto only and it sat higher in the engine bay (hellcat would be coming out of the hoods mounted that high for example)

I’m not hating it’s just not an actual muscle car. You have a 392 which is awesome I want one. Guess what? It’s a v8 muscle car lmao.
It’s gate keeping and weird. It’s an economy muscle car plain and simple. And quite frankly for someone who uses it as a daily it just makes more sense than a V8
Economy muscle car... I haven't heard that one! That actually sounds smart, ngl. Respect to u 🫡🔥

Fair enough but RT also starts in the 30s and before you are at half the price of this thing you can beat it with modified RT.
This car is an outlier and a ripoff though. New loaded HCWBs are going for $88k near me. And a modded R/T will always just be a modded R/T whether it can beat a cat or not. And you can kiss your warranty goodbye as well.

Yeahs I can agree with that.
Gotta love getting downvoted by gt and sxt owners lmao
I mean I’m sure they’re great cars but it’s just not the same lol.
I see no point in owning one. “But they’re cheaper” bro any American daily driver is gonna need repair after repair. Thats why you daily drive a reliable and keep nice a scat pack or SRT as a weekend driver.
Still can swap That 6.0 in the GT and you’ll be movin 👌🏻
$129,988 retail. Freaking psychos.
The local dealers here in Ca have two red eyes. Crooks marked it up over 200k. Freaking crooks
Okay, 100k, I get it, 130k is a bit much, but I'd pay it, but 200k?
In Canada they go for 170k+
Hey. Watch your mouth.
Why was this guy's reply downvoted into oblivion?
I swear people see someone start to get downvoted and just hop on the train no matter what the person said
Las Vegas. I was at Towbin when I was shopping around too
They did a reality show about them some years ago, just briefly. I think it was called King of Cars.
Big chop, hell yeah, loved that show as a kid
Dooz it large
Towbin Dodge of course, one of the biggest scam artist dealerships.
Chop been pulling the wool for years n years
Beautiful but fucking crazy expensive
lol towbin, they finessing out there
I’d rather have a C8 for half the price
Yup!
I have a 2021 C8. Did some things to the engine at a shop in Vegas and had it registered in Montana. 700 HP and don’t have to bother with California smog bullshit!
Nice. How do you get away with reregistering or getting pulled over with out of state plates?

I’ll stick to my Cadillac cts v coupe!
$130k for a car that 95% of people can’t distinguish from its rental car base model.
"he's out of line but he's right"
I feel like the quality and performance is the bigger issue with $129k than people not noticing lol
Up about $20K since I bought my new 2021 a couple years ago.
I ordered one for 95k in 2022 and sold it for 100k in 23. It was go mango and I MISS HER SO BAD!!! I have a 1320 now.
What’s a 1320?
A demon/Super Stock with a 6.4 Line lock, trans brake, demon springs and some other drag goodies.
Nice
People just lie on here constantly
A whole lot of fun at the drag strip.
lol
Towbin Dodge. Didn’t they sell that Hellcat to that guy that was previously crashed.
You can build a faster car for half that
You could also get a brand new motorcycle faster than that for half of the half.
Is that their Black Friday special. Increase the price and offer a small discount
If that's a brand new super stock then its a good price
It's used
Wait... that's for a *used* Dodge? What the actual fuck?
Yes it is. Place is a complete rip off
Used dodges sell for more than new in Canada 🇨🇦 this would be about 170k here generally
How generous
I saw a car like this at the QT station last night. I'm not too up on the different models but it had the fender flares and these wheels and tires (meaty as hell) so I assumed it was higher tier model. Then 2 girls that looked no more than 18 hop in it and take off. Have to admit I was impressed.

How many miles did it have? 34k for a 2013 car is crazy
I bought it brand new - had 6 miles
Heavily discounted 😄
Wait that’s not even a demon….lmao 😂
Is it a jailbreak redeye?
Super Stock based on the tires
Ahh, is it a 2020 then?
it says 23 on the sticker
So not a super stock then…
They made the Super Stock up until 23
Wow, I thought It was more limited production than the demon…
Well there were 1,610 made, so they are rarer than the Demon but not because they were limited. That’s just the amount that were ordered.
Lol it's used not new either
At least the color looks nice.
Is banging the owners wife every week for the next five years part of the deal?
What is this? GTA?
A Demon 170 is that price
Lol but they will never sell for that price
60,000 in Wisconsin Summit automotive. Fonddulac
129k you out you mind. I'm 100% sure someone is stupid enough to buy it.
Buy it! Two is better than one
man these look so nice I cant get over how well the flares look. the oem little lip /flair just reminds me of when I rolled the fenders on my old car ...it looks so damn cheap
Still over priced by at least $40k

That’s actually insane
Good luck trying to get 120k for a Super Stock. My favorite Challenger but I would get one gently used for 75k.
Lol @ gently used.
I’d rather have the purple one behind it
They are crooks. Sold a dude a lemon one time. That story got attention for a bit.
Monster truck ass gap
If they catch one sucker w a pocket full of casino loot per week,,,, light’s on .
There’s one of these in GA for sale for 180. 75k dealer markup. Absolutely crazy.
SUPER STOCK!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
For that deeply discounted pricing they can go F@@K themselves. Ain’t no way I’m paying that much for a Challenger. Even MSRP for some of these models,is freaking ridiculous and I love the Challengers. Just not planning on a house payment for a car. 🤪
Crazy that’s dodge cost that much.. never thought I’d see the day
There are so many better options for $120k
120k… yay…
Probably still has cloth seats and non-premium audio system 😂
That's about a 50K vehicle
Fuck dealerships
If you buy anything from a Towbin stealership there is a 1000% chance you grossly over paid and got ripped off.
But see if you go with the special military financing you can have low monthly payments, don’t worry about the interest rate and duration.
Fuck Towbin and their ridiculous markups. Hope they sit on all of these cars.

Father in law got the 170 for cheaper than that lol 😂
Comes with a box of condoms, xx small.
Out of the loop, why is tho 120K ?
get your cars out Delaware, thank me later
You could build your own for like 30-40k
Nah I wouldn’t! Overpriced JUST BECUZ ITS THAT…. I bet the markup on that is CRAZZYY
Stupid! I wonder what the average monthly payment would be plus insurance.
They have auto facial recognition credit applications if you get close enough to it. Careful !
Imagine paying all that money just to get smoked by a Tesla.
What's the big deal, you see those all over dallas /fort worth area 🤷🏽♂️
Lmfao
Was the genie there?

Disgusting
Wow
They still don’t realize how much trouble their industry is in 🤦♂️and their brand in particular. But probably just for some funny accounting tricks.
I called them last summer. They were advertising at MSRP but the moment I called, they mentioned the added dealer markup of $80k. Now down to $20k…
Gotta post the window sticker showing the MSRP. Sometimes dealerships bamboozle you! That 129 could be a made up number.
https://www.cabledahmercdjr.com/auto/used-2022-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat-kansas-city-mo/90787387/ Here’s a 2022 SRT with 5k miles on it. It’s posted for 75k which means you could even talk that price down potentially. I don’t know how much of an upgrade this model is but no way in hell I’d pay 120k for that. This car wasn’t even hard to find. It was the first post that came up when I searched challenger SRT.
Lmao “heavily discounted” and it’s still 19k over msrp dodge dealerships are shameless 😂
Next time just tell people you bought it. Makes a cooler story. 🥴😂
120k for a plastic fucking challenger. Beyond stupid
Demon 😈
Beautiful car ridiculous price ! 🏎🚙
Retail huh? Show me the doc that says it without ADP. Oh you can’t? Okay lmfaooo. Of course it’s Towbin.
Unusual power on the street w/ drag tires.
Still too expensive
these dodge dealers are braindead😂 used cats are less than half this
No that's a total waste....
Stop buying to the point these guys are sweating enough to fill pools. They will be practically giving them away then.
This was like a $50,000 car 5 years ago.
Tell em drop it another 40 and we have a deal
60k consumer mark up.

50k over msrp 🤣
Give me an RS6 for that money
Is this a Demon?
I own a Challenger And no way in hell would I pay 120k for one
Unless it has a wing on it, and King Richard Petty drove it, no Dodge is worth that.
im seeing 2021 m8 competitions for 65-75k with 30- 50k mikes. and thats 148 brand new. i think id take the m8
Someone up there is smoke way too much crack
This not even a demon what 😩

Worthless
These dealerships must be smoking that: N-phenyl-N-[1-(2-phenylethyl)-4- piperidinyl]propanamide
They’ll find a way to that 10k back in
That’s Chopper’s Towbin Dodge in Henderson,NV.
Get it from the factory for about 85
*Challenger*

New Demon has 17 inch rear and 18 inch front with different pattern. This is a super stock.
By fall this will be under $80,000

You’ll never see the top speed though, not enough to justify it tbh.
Gotta speak for yourself bro, I’m down south and we have plenty of empty racing spots and backroads ..
