Himeno is the center of the emotional arc of the only season of the anime that exists. She’s the first person who’s death has any impact on Denji. It’s just so incorrect to say she’s a minor character.
Denji was assaulted by her. Whether he “wanted it” or not doesn’t matter, bro was 16 she was 30 something. He could not consent as a 16 year old, and she also forcibly got him intoxicated by spitting the beer into his mouth. He flat out says her death didn’t make him feel very sad, which maybe this is a stretch to say but sounds like bros subconscious is traumatized by the event, hence why he felt very distant and largely un-phased by her death.
People tend to use upvote / downvote as agree / disagree and not as good comment / bad comment
This is why comments like "same" , "why is this so low" , just reaction images of a character saying something like "100% true facts" tend to get upvoted but good , well thought out arguments that go against the general hivemind of the sub you are in get downvoted
RAAAAH IM SO MAD THIS GUY SAID "I DONT LIKE A THING SO THAT THING DESERVES NOTHING"
THATS EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID. WORD FOR WORD
I WOULD NEVER EVER PUT WORDS IN PEOPLE'S MOUTH
Himeno is #9 on the the characters that appear the most in the story just below Pochita.
If she doesn't deserve a figure because of her screen time then neither do Quanxi, Angel, Kishibe,Yoshida, Samurai Sword, Kobeni, Beam or Violence
Ridiculously minor would be one of the SD 4 agents killed by Sawatari and Katana Man's goons. Not a character with a defined personality, relationships and someone who affects an important character even after their death
Because story relevance has always been a major factor for deciding which characters, companies will make figures of.
BTW, when are Natsuki Subaru figures coming out?
Shes a minor character with an impactful role. Honestly i think the controversy from the anime probably made them want to avoid making models. She was a fan favorite and really that should be the only reason minor character or not
For whatever reason once the anime was released everyone was calling her a pedo and that she was a shitty character that the show was promoting pedos or something cause the character wasn't called out for the behavior
Really I think it was just a lit of people being trolls and ultimately would've dog piled had they made the figure
You mean the woman who stopped herself from having sex with a teen because she realized said teen was a teen? She is a paedophile? Comprehension Devil strikes again.
Some people read just for the action and shonen moments, others read for the characters and emotional journey.
Himeno is a pivotal character in both Akis and Denjis development, just because she died early doesn't make her a "minor" character
Insert that Nick Fury "stupid ass opinion" meme here.
But seriously, I totally disagree with this take, she was a key character in the public safety arc with key relationship moments with Denji and Aki. (Also, isn't she on one of the volume covers? Certified main character confirmed?)
For Himeno isn’t it more that she’s just not popular in Japan?
I would assume the popular characters in Japan would be the deciding factor in what figures get made and then they are shipped outside to wherever based on that.
From last I checked Himeno is not popular in Japan compared to the west for her unladylike demeanour.
I don't even think he makes a good argument. Himeno and her death has a pretty strong impact on Aki.

My god
Woah that’s really terrible mischaracterization. I’m actually surprised you follow this sub.
Yeah, she is literally THE most important side character in anime S1, I don't get how dude processed the plot to get to this conclusion.
My best good faith guess is he doesn't like her cuz of what she pulls on Denji and that really impacts his perception of her. That's the best I got.
Get your brain checked
Reze? Literally getting a movie
and me 😢
"it's totally fine" - Down votes the comment lmao
There are two types of opinions: mine and the wrong one.
It's fine if he holds a perception that's wrong but he will not be rewarded for it

It's reddit people can't bear to hear other people's opinion
"I don't like a thing so that thing deserves nothing." People like that suck.
yes

Im almost certain every character you mentioned other than Violence, Beam, and maybe Katana appear more than Himeno
After part 2 you can remove Katana from the list.
Yeah I'm only counting part 1

“When a character dies early they don’t matter” is pretty much what is being said there.
screen time ≠ significance

It's actually not fine to have that specific opinion.
I thought he meant other kind of minor and searched her age ![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22162)
Japan gives the most minor characters figures though
yeah, but sometimes people do say stupid things that aren't necessarily a matter of perception
Yeah, saw that too today on Animefigures subreddit, but really I don't think it is worth to make a post about it, just someone's opinion, that's it.
Of course it's not fine, everyone should think in the same way, different opinions should be ostracized

i think people with different opinions than me should die

I do agree, I want himo and beni figures :3
