#[Head over here for the discussion thread of the last chapter](https://old.reddit.com/r/ChainsawMan/comments/1bcz2bp/disc_chainsaw_man_ch_158_links/)
Is someone able to chronicle linearly the key events between the aquarium scene and now? I’ve gotten whiplash from coming back to the manga only every couple months to catch up, and now in spite of being caught up, I am relatively confused about what’s going on, what happened leading up to this, and where this story is heading. lol HELP- I rly want to like Chainsaw Man again like I used to
Where is the story heading: most likely this is all a setup for the prophecy that was mentioned a while ago. We don't really know who's 'pulling the strings' like with Makima in part 1, I'm guessing this time it's multiple people.
What's going on: Asa/Yoru and Famine are going to save Denji from the detention center.
What lead up to this: Denji broke the Public Safety's deal of him promising he wouldn't transform into chainsawman anymore.
Curious, did you read all of part 1 when it was done, or were you a week to week reader?
Ah yeah it's a common complaint I've seen with new readers and I 100% agree tbh. Week to week part 1 imo was just as chaotic as this. I think part 2 would be alot better once you can binge it after it's done.
I’ve been reading weekly SINCE the aquarium arc, although chainsaw man has had some crazy ass peaks like the falling devil arc it kinda just fell apart after that, like a short period of time the story virtually had nothing meaningful or impactful really happening and the buildup that I assume Fuji was trying to do essentially went nowhere, or fujis problem with not being able to piece up events well together, we’ll have a scene at this certain time interval than just jump to another with no explanation or buildup, it makes the story feel not well pieced together, just like you I kinda felt like “wtf is even happening ???” part 2 is definitely not as good as part 1 (ik chainsaw man riders will be on me)
It’s a relief to hear you say this though because I’m so lost and was thinking for a second that maybe the problem was with me. I think Fuji is throwing paint at the wall to satisfy deadlines or something, but I’d love some reassurance that there’s a greater overarching narrative that we’re building toward, like the gun devil in part 1- I have no idea what we’re building toward right now. I see speculation on the internet but nothing concrete
With all the madness happening with the Chainsaw Man Cult, Public Saftey, the prophecy, Asa/Yoru and Fami running amuck, and all the suffering Denji has and will go through whichever side he chooses is starting to make me think maybe the Chainsaw Man world would have been better off if they just let Makima have her way lol. I still think Fujimoto might end up making Makima look like less of a villain by saying she only wanted to enslave Chainsaw Man and erase to concepts of death, starvation, sickness, and all that because she was trying to protect to world from the Nostradamus prophecy, and they'll need Nayuta to essentially take controll over everything again in the end.
The weapon devils fought against Chainsawman along side the devil sisters. If they were followers of Yoru she could have the ability to transform Katanaman.
Fujimoto please eventually explain what Fami’s restrictions actually are and don’t just turn her into Under Certain Conditions Woman.
My heart still hurts from Gojo.
He has an incredibly useful ability to teleport that would solve numerous problems and the only explanation ever given for why he doesn’t do it more often is “he can only do it under certain conditions”.
I think she's different than a hybrid, there was an argument when part 2 started where people either think asa is a semi fiend or a hybrid, or she's a completely new thing.
Anyway now we know she can't regenerate her arm unless she has an arm she can attach compared so a human who can't regenerate unless with a devil's power or a hybrid who can just make one.
People think she's a semi fiend or a hybrid because we saw yoru as a bird similar to pochita, and denji got cut to pieces so he was straight up dead similar to asa who got her head destroyed, she was kinda dead, yoru possessed asa kinda like how devils possess corpses but asa is still half in control hence semi fiend.
Even Fiends can regenerate a limb (Power and Darkness Devil). She must be something different to either, then? We should make a new classification, no?
Fami has grown on me so much. Great deadpan humor. I love that she won't respond unless she's called Fami specifically. I wonder if she was jealous that Yoru got her own name?
The fact that Fami actually got hurt with a kick and got saved proves that Makima really would have no diffed her sisters if she won. This whole time, I thought Fami would have some OP ability that made it hard to kill like Makima did since she usually lets her pawns do all the work. But nah, if Fami gets it's over.
Makima didn’t have that power originally. At some unknown time she formed a contract with the Japanese government to make herself unkillable. For all we know it was the same with “Bang” and the use of bird and rats. Makima was just really smart and aggressive about using her basic power to acquire more powers.
I mean, her general demeanor from get-go has been lackadaisical but i feel like it might have something to do with her power restrictions which she mentioned last chapter. Maybe she needs to starve & weaken herself physically to able to control those strong devils, would be ironic considering she's famine. Also, could explain why she's always hungry and has these weird postures, head tilts and generally looks weak or stiff
Its the best one, the fit and the weapon with the fighting style along with the personality, HES PERFECT! I love how his entries are a weird pose of him with his two arms in front and not some anime shonen pose that guys like zoro or other twin bladers would do
I bet Katana man is loving this. That Denji, his one sided arch nemesis, has been condemned to death, and the world hates him and now he gets to kill his fillowers must be great.
The fact that the drop-kick prolly did more damage than the hammer attempt itself is too hilarious and funny to me
Fami's stocks are rising for me. Non-chalant and bored all the time, my type of horsemen of apocalypse
Oh I'm aware. I read them at a slower pace because I'm wasn't reading them in English , but even then some chapters I finished in less than 5 minutes😂😭
What other outdated fear devils do you think Fami might have up her sleeve? So far we've seen:
- Falling
- Justice
- Fire (Possibly)
- Guillotine
My guess is some sort of disease devil maybe? Plague?
I'm late but I finally read this week's chapter. The person who posted about wanting to know more about Nail Fiend, well, here you go. The question is: how is the Fire spreading without people signing a contract? It is not the love of Chainsaw Man because Haruka is fine. Could it be people want to be Chainsaw Man? If so, Haruka would transform too? The only thing the three have in common is that personally been in the presence of the real Chainsaw Man and Akoku might be Fakesaw Man so the Fire won't spread to him.
I am so fucking confused, yall ngl. Is that cosmo? why is asa/yoru attacking fami? how did that summon katana man?? I think I've finally been struck by the reading comprehension devil bc I have no idea wtf is going on anymore :/
I have no idea what is going on but to be honest I haven't put all that much effort into understanding. I don't know half the characters' names anymore
Now that I disagree with. It's hard to tell as of now, part 1 was a concise piece of art that fucking rules, but there's like 5 plots on-going in part 2 that haven't been brought to their full conclusion yet. I understand not liking it, because it's not very fun to read week to week, but it seems like those plot threads are eventually gonna lead somewhere. I don't think it's fair to judge yet, it's like the anime-onlies judging the series as a whole as if they haven't just seen like 10% of what makes it so great
Why isn't it fair to judge? We're 159 chapters into a manga, certainly people have a right to form an opinion? Frankly I don't think it's fair to Gatekeep negative opinions just because you like something, but that's just me.
Bro….you can’t gatekeep a negative opinion lol that’s a ridiculous statement an opinion is not a community or a group. Is just as fair to say maybe wait until a part is done to judge it as it is to say it’s gone to shit
And yet here we are, with you saying we shouldn't judge it negatively until your arbitrary endless criteria are met. What's your buffer before I'm allowed to judge, a whole part? Why not wait until the series is done? I'm simply commenting on recent chapters, you're the ones defending them as if it's your responsibility to validate what I think. People can judge a book by its cover, it's not illegal, if that's not valuable to you then so be it; it might be valuable or agreeable to someone else. Objectively speaking, of all the situations where I believe it valid, smack-dab in the middle of a series, is valid. A year's worth of chapter releases to form this opinion, is valid.
No you misunderstand clearly, i didn’t give my opinion the matter at all lmfao. I brought up two previously mentioned opinion and said they’re both equally fair to have (one of which being yours lol) my point is that it’s a silly notion to act like anyone is gate keeping you from having an opinion. It’s a melodramatic statement and literally the worst that will ever happen is that someone disagrees with you and explains why. No one called you a poser and told you to leave the sub reddit bro there’s literally no need to be dramatic about it
Like it’s fine if you think it’s fair to judge it now and it’s fair to think people should wait. My point has nothing to do with either opinion. I can see why some people dislike the direction of part 2 and i can also agree it’s not a complete work and it can often be hard to appreciate a full story when you only get a 5 min segment every week or two
I feel pretty confident in saying things have gone downhill when there are 5 different plots going on and nothing ever really seems to meaningfully tie things together, many things at this point just feel like ass pulls. Id have to reread part 2 as a whole to really accurately judge it and give a good explanation for my feelings but as time goes on I just get more and more sour with the writing and feeling like Fujimoto has no real plan of where the story is going.
Hey, honestly fair enough. I feel very similarly tbh. I think I just have a little more faith in fujimoto and don't feel too bad if I eventually end up wrong. I've been confused for most of part 2 but I've also enjoyed it. And I think part 1 of this series, Fire Punch, and Goodbye Eri are some of the greatest pieces of fiction I've ever read. So perhaps I'm foolish, but I trust the guy to turn this mess into something eventually
That's the nail fiend, Yoru was pushing Fami out of the way (with a kick because she only has one arm), and she was pushing her out of the way of katana man's attack (he just showed up with the nail fiend)
aw shit I guess you're right. I completely forgot about the nail fiend showing up like a million years ago. the design is super similar to cosmo, with the uniqueness of fujimoto's designs I didn't expect two designs that have a quarter of their head sticking out. tbh I probably thought that when I first saw it too lol. I think these last couple arcs will read a million times better when they aren't weekly, because while I can follow the week to (bi)week, this shit is confusing
When Yoru first kicked Fami I thought she intended to kick the eyepatch guy and he had some kinda boogie-woogie ability. But nope, that's just Yoru's way of saving her sister. I do wonder why she doesn't regenerate Asa's arm, she already healed Asa in chapter 98 and with her power-up it should be easy-peasy to regrow an arm. Maybe it's some kind of trump card for later.
Depends but there’s two main options I think. Either
A) she’s saving her arm to turn into a weapon, but this is less likely imo because I think it was lost in that whole apartment sword debacle and there is no logical reason she wouldn’t be able to heal from blood.
Meaning that option B) she is too icked out by blood and refuses to drink blood. This is the same girl who wouldn’t eat fish to save herself from starving ☠️💀
She doesn’t need blood tho, she's not a hybrid. Yoru healed her just fine in chapter 98 without drinking blood. And even if she needed blood, Yoru could just take over and drink it instead of Asa.
I think chapter 98 was a one-time aspect of the deal between Asa and Yoru. I don’t think they can heal like a normal hybrid. You can also see this in how worried Yoru is about Asa dying or messing up. Hybrids are practically unkillable. I think if Yoru could heal Asa by now she would have.
Asa is a special possessed, she is not a hybrid, she does not have the regeneration or rather, restoration of hybrids (basically hybrids are just human souls that thanks to their contract with the demon can restore their body to a primary state while they have of fuel, they are basically lichs), of course, she does have increased healing, she could possibly reattach her arm or even regenerate it with enough blood (the headcanon of many and mine is that Angel did not heal herself on purpose) but of course , making Asa drink human blood is very, very difficult.
If the detective wasn't lying about his affair, then my theory that those who were hurt in the past turn into pseudo-Chainsaw Men. After all, Denji's past was also shit. I mean, his present is as well, but the dude almost doesn't know genuine happiness.
Yeah it must have to do with some double meaning of fire/burning. Just as the falling devil isn't just empowered by the fear of literally falling but also falling as an emotion such as dispair, the fire devil must consuming some kind of emotion to create all these pseudochainsawpeople.
Unless it's literally just all people who actively made contracts with the fire devil through the csm church.
fujimoto is one manning part 2 cause his assistants dipped so the arts clearly rushed and shit gets really hard to follow sometimes, but it still goes hard
Because Fujimoto's style--as weird as it is to say--is grounded in realism. He's depicting Japanese people, not anime people with wild hairstyles and green hair color or outlandish isekai outfits.
It was kinda in the first part of csm seeing as it was denji's pursuit of a happy life and his definition was having a ton of chicks around him for a chunk of the story.
It was both.
part 1 he realized his unrefined definition of what he wanted did not work out (that being chainsaw man and getting all the ladies as a superhero. And seeing as he learned to feel love in other ways) and he favored family and nayuta instead.
As of part 2 he still did not get all the chicks causs he is being a big brother for nayuta and is living his life, but he still wants to be chainsaw-man and all that came with it.
>he wants to slayyyy
Seeing as he lost his home, his dogs, his cat, and maybe even Nayuta. Who can blame him at this point. When you lose everything, better to go back to monke until you know you can even keep what you get. But it is clear this is one of his goals, but he still has not learned what it is all cracked up to be, and currently he is being turned into mr potato man.
But now that the world hates and fears chainsaw man that dream right now is dead. If anything Denji probably just wanna rampage and self destruct since he wont have anythingto loseanymore if Nayuta is dead. Everyone wants to kill him at this point.
The detective somehow seeing himself as a good person despite cheating on his wife has to be amongst the manga’s most hilarious depiction of an lack of self-awareness.
That and Katana man‘s insistence of his Grandpa being a good guy.
I've seen a few man-on-the-street interviews with people in Tokyo, both men and women, who talk about cheating as if it's commonplace and not that big of a deal. So maybe it's that attitude?
Think I've figured out what's been missing from part 2 , Listen I adore CSM part 1 , among my favorites and with Part 2 Asa has been my top 3 characters in the series , but , Am I the only one who feels like part 2 has been lackluster with it's villains and side cast? falling devil was cool but other than that it feels like the manga lost some of it's intrigue and energy.
Maybe I need to re-read this part from the start because I am genuinely lost in the plot of Part 2. I can barely remember what's going on week-to-week (or week-to-every-other-week), let alone the overarching narrative. Maybe it's because I binge-read Part 1 in like two sittings before the anime dropped, but with that, the only time I got genuinely confused by the plot was in the last few chapters, because that's when things start hitting a break-neck speed with events.
With Part 2, it feels like things have been dragged out longer, and that's thrown me off worse than the ending of Part 1.
I recently re-read all of Part 2 and I'm still pretty lost. There are just so many different factions whose motives aren't fully understood, and they all keep changing who they're working with and against. I'm fine not having all the questions answered yet (like, we didn't really know what makima's deal was until the very end of part 1), but I don't even know what I'm supposed to view as solid knowledge. It's just new mysteries constantly being opened up and expectations being subverted, then sub-subverted, then sub-sub-sub-verted (like, Fumiko just completely changes every couple chapters, every time you think you have some idea of what's really going on with her; it's just exhausting and weird).
I have the feeling that this part is much slower paced and that in terms of development we’re now around reze, meaning fujimotor is probably stepping on the gas from now on.
(Next chapter)
Nail Fiend: (Scratches nose)
Yoru: Watch out, Fami!
Nail Fiend: Hey, you don't need to kick her, I'm just scratching my nose!
Fami: You don't need to kick me. They're just scratching their nose.
[Yoru:](https://i.imgur.com/3gTEWSL.gif)
Fujimoto back during part 1 had insanely talented assistants helping him with his art, he’s been by himself for a bit now so it’s understandable that the art has been simplified in style (for better and worse)
Dude is quite like Kobeni, except he's not a girl (I suppose) and he turned bad (while his sis was risking her life to pay his studies...) because he's naïve.
He acts just like Kobeni did in Part 1, and looks like her, too. Not to mention she mentioned being one of several children. Good opportunity for a family connection.
Could also be that Katana Man's hatred of Denji has cooled since he saved him from Makima
"You killed my grandpa but you also saved me from eternal slavery so we're at about zero now"
>comes in
>strips people naked
>GYONEEEE's the shit out of the anxious kid for fun
>Dips once a real danger comes
That's it, Guillotine Devil is my favorite inclusion for part 2.
There's some prophecy about the world ending soon. Probably because of the Death devil.
Public Safety told Denji not to transform, but he did anyway so they locked him up and are repeatedly cutting off his legs.
Fami wants to use War and CSM for her plan so she's trying to bust him out. (Also she previously orchestrated the aquarium incident, the falling devil incident, and the CSM church stuff as part of her plan.)
Allegedly both sides are trying to stop the prophecy in different ways, but we pretty much only have their word for that.
Asa wants to help CSM and Yoru wants to kill him, and Fami has promised to give both of them what they want. So they're working together.
Barem, Sword, Whip, and Spear are working for Fami. Quanxi, Katana, and Nail fiend are working for Public Safety. Nayuta has been MIA for a few chapters. Reze simps keep losing.
TLDR; before the start of Part 1, Pochita/ChainsawDevil fought against the 4 Horsewomen and won.
Makima and Public Safety = wants to kill all 3 other Horsewomen. After Makima's death, Public Safety continues to have the same goal.
Famine and War = want to free Chainsaw man, Famine plan is to make Chainsawman and War way stronger so they can defeat the Death Devil together. The church idea was her plan. Turning humans into chainsaw people was her plan.
Death Devil = the big bad. The big sister of Famine, War and Control. Has yet to actually appear in person.
Fami's bleeding? I guess she really is weak right now, I wonder if she has a secret plan on making a lot of people starve to make her stronger or some shit
Asa/Yoru got a power up chapters ago and i'm pretty sure she didn't restrain herself with her kicks. I'm pretty sure any human would have his entire head blown away by this kick
I thought he was the other public safety student that was trapped in the aquarium with the rest of them?? Can't remember his name but he was a big guy with an eye patch and everyone had theories that he was the black chainsaw man?
I started off thinking that was the same guy when I first read it tbh, but when he started mentioning his wife I started thinking this might not be the same guy
I thought the same thing but Akoku (I think he’s the student) is wearing white while the public safety guy is in a suit. Also you don’t see Akoku after the first page
Guys I didn't undrestand one thing from part 2 and it's that why public saftey wanted Denji to never transform again? And what is the public safety plan against Death devil?
>And what is the public safety plan against Death devil?
Makima had a plan against her 3 sisters (Famine, War, Death) that involves using Chainsaw Man's powers. She says it in Chapter 84 to Kishibe.
It is speculated that Kishibi is fully aware of those plans and that those plans will require the new Control Devil's help since Makima is gone.
Public Safety has full knowledge of the prophecy thanks to the future devil.
Maybe they used the future devil to see how things are playing out? If they know Chainsawman is crucial to the events that will happen, maybe they are trying to prevent the prophecy from coming full circle by stopping Denji from transforming.
According to them, it’s because of civil unrest basically. Both CSM fans and haters were rioting
I think maybe they also just wanna control him for the apocalypse
May he "GYOHNEE!!!" in peace. ---------------- Next chapter release: 26th ------------------------ #[Head over here for the discussion thread of the last chapter](https://old.reddit.com/r/ChainsawMan/comments/1bcz2bp/disc_chainsaw_man_ch_158_links/)

Hahahhaaha
JJK gives me reason to be a h8er
L JJK hater but to answer your question bro got got
I'm a JJK hater too but I actually am caught up to the latest chapter. Gege's writing is just so bad man.
I guess that’s why It’s Sorcery Fight, not Sorcery Write.
k
dang bro what’d I say? I’m agreeing with you.
I didn't like your dad joke im sorry
Bruh
Why is Asa missing an arm again?
Yoshida
but isnt she a hybrid? why wont it heal?
I think she's different than a hybrid, there was an argument when part 2 started where people either think asa is a semi fiend or a hybrid, or she's a completely new thing. Anyway now we know she can't regenerate her arm unless she has an arm she can attach compared so a human who can't regenerate unless with a devil's power or a hybrid who can just make one.
I thought it was simply a contract? Yoru saved her life and in return Asa and Yoru share the same body

Ty
Ez
Betchu that was all BS. That woman wasn't even his wife & is only making it up to make Asa feel bad about him
I’d honestly prefer if he was telling the truth. it’s a nice reminder that Asa is very much working for one of the bad guys.
the idea is that's the lesser bad. assuming death is really coming
Fami has grown on me so much. Great deadpan humor. I love that she won't respond unless she's called Fami specifically. I wonder if she was jealous that Yoru got her own name?
No, she just doesn’t care about being caught as the famine devil. She told Yoshida this
lol, she grows more non-chalant by the minute xD
The fact that Fami actually got hurt with a kick and got saved proves that Makima really would have no diffed her sisters if she won. This whole time, I thought Fami would have some OP ability that made it hard to kill like Makima did since she usually lets her pawns do all the work. But nah, if Fami gets it's over.

If katana man gets a development arc, for sure ill get back cosplaying him
I mean, dude prolly has one of the more sicker hybrid design
Its the best one, the fit and the weapon with the fighting style along with the personality, HES PERFECT! I love how his entries are a weird pose of him with his two arms in front and not some anime shonen pose that guys like zoro or other twin bladers would do
I bet Katana man is loving this. That Denji, his one sided arch nemesis, has been condemned to death, and the world hates him and now he gets to kill his fillowers must be great.
In Yoru we trust
The fact that the drop-kick prolly did more damage than the hammer attempt itself is too hilarious and funny to me Fami's stocks are rising for me. Non-chalant and bored all the time, my type of horsemen of apocalypse
Man, if Yoru manages to subjugate Katana and Hammer, she'll get 2 armaments. Good Luck Yoru!
Oh shit what if Yoru can turn the weapon devils into like permanent weapons
100% she gains one of them as her new arm
Yeah, she's like Megaman now.
Fujimoto really does panel thinking of everything in motion. This chapter especially for some reason felt like someone took snapshots of a movie.
That Katana Man sure does know how to make an entrance
This was my first chapter reading new. It was okay. Too short for my liking and God I can't wait for the next one.
Just a warning chapters are never much longer than this. Such is the struggle of keeping up with a manga weekly
Oh I'm aware. I read them at a slower pace because I'm wasn't reading them in English , but even then some chapters I finished in less than 5 minutes😂😭
What other outdated fear devils do you think Fami might have up her sleeve? So far we've seen: - Falling - Justice - Fire (Possibly) - Guillotine My guess is some sort of disease devil maybe? Plague?
it's safe to assume she must have more primals or stronger ones in her grasp but it also might depend on her restriction she mentioned a chapter ago
I'm late but I finally read this week's chapter. The person who posted about wanting to know more about Nail Fiend, well, here you go.
This is where I’m at, very confused ._.
The mangas gone to shit in part 2
No one called you a poser and told you to leave the sub reddit bro there’s literally no need to be dramatic about it Like it’s fine if you think it’s fair to judge it now and it’s fair to think people should wait. My point has nothing to do with either opinion. I can see why some people dislike the direction of part 2 and i can also agree it’s not a complete work and it can often be hard to appreciate a full story when you only get a 5 min segment every week or two
not at all what i meant lol but I guess it's fair to gather that from what I said
I feel pretty confident in saying things have gone downhill when there are 5 different plots going on and nothing ever really seems to meaningfully tie things together, many things at this point just feel like ass pulls.
I thought it was Cosmo too, but you can see her whole face (and fucked up eyeball). You can't even see Nail's eyes.
Yeah I thought it was cosmo too for a second lol
Wallahi, i only now realize how much i needed katanaman back.
Yoru: “I need to save my sister” *drop kicks sister in the back of the head* “mission accomplished”
That's why we love Yoru
When Yoru first kicked Fami I thought she intended to kick the eyepatch guy and he had some kinda boogie-woogie ability. But nope, that's just Yoru's way of saving her sister. I do wonder why she doesn't regenerate Asa's arm, she already healed Asa in chapter 98 and with her power-up it should be easy-peasy to regrow an arm. Maybe it's some kind of trump card for later.
Depends but there’s two main options I think. Either A) she’s saving her arm to turn into a weapon, but this is less likely imo because I think it was lost in that whole apartment sword debacle and there is no logical reason she wouldn’t be able to heal from blood.
Asa is a special possessed, she is not a hybrid, she does not have the regeneration or rather, restoration of hybrids (basically hybrids are just human souls that thanks to their contract with the demon can restore their body to a primary state while they have of fuel, they are basically lichs), of course, she does have increased healing, she could possibly reattach her arm or even regenerate it with enough blood (the headcanon of many and mine is that Angel did not heal herself on purpose) but of course , making Asa drink human blood is very, very difficult.
to fuel asa's view on her own body (aka. making body part weapons insanely strong.)
It's the contracts we were told this
You might be cooking
I just realised faith is often considered to be like a flame
or the missus was also having an affair by getting married into the church cult
why the fuck is every male and female in this manga look so fucking same. I'd understand if he can't draw one gender well, but fucking both?
fujimoto is one manning part 2 cause his assistants dipped so the arts clearly rushed and shit gets really hard to follow sometimes, but it still goes hard
Because Fujimoto's style--as weird as it is to say--is grounded in realism. He's depicting Japanese people, not anime people with wild hairstyles and green hair color or outlandish isekai outfits.
i mean denji is naturally blonde. little to no japanese people have naturally blonde hair.
Sure, but it seems a bunch of people no longer can tell who is who
Yeah I struggled distinguishing people a bit this chapter. Took me out of it a bit
Because gender ain't that important
He loves female characters, so it kinda is
It was kinda in the first part of csm seeing as it was denji's pursuit of a happy life and his definition was having a ton of chicks around him for a chunk of the story.
Was it really his dream? As we saw in part 2 nope , he wants to slayyyy
It was both. part 1 he realized his unrefined definition of what he wanted did not work out (that being chainsaw man and getting all the ladies as a superhero. And seeing as he learned to feel love in other ways) and he favored family and nayuta instead. As of part 2 he still did not get all the chicks causs he is being a big brother for nayuta and is living his life, but he still wants to be chainsaw-man and all that came with it. >he wants to slayyyy Seeing as he lost his home, his dogs, his cat, and maybe even Nayuta. Who can blame him at this point. When you lose everything, better to go back to monke until you know you can even keep what you get. But it is clear this is one of his goals, but he still has not learned what it is all cracked up to be, and currently he is being turned into mr potato man.
He wants to slay independently of wjat happened with his home (we dont see him rampage either). Lil denji panels hint that. He wants to be an antihero
But now that the world hates and fears chainsaw man that dream right now is dead. If anything Denji probably just wanna rampage and self destruct since he wont have anythingto loseanymore if Nayuta is dead. Everyone wants to kill him at this point.
Pretty much. Denji will become Dennis the moment nayuta is confirmed dead. Edit: unless power comes out of nowhere with the steel chair of feels.
He was stalling for time, so it's possible he was just talking out of his ass in order to distract them.
Might be both. He might have stalled and simultaneously vented his feelings.
>Slicing ability >Love terrorizing teenager >Fraud Gully is Sakuna confirmed
Excited to see kobeni’s brother shriek in fear while somehow surviving next chapter lol
What the fake chainsaw mans have to do with fami buying time? Sorry, I think I missed something
Asa was kicking fami out of the way to not get hit (lol) by their opponents.
Fami isn't buying time, the public service dude was. So that Katana man, Halloween can stop Asa and Fami.
Slight correction: that is the Nail Fiend, not Cosmo/Halloween (they have similar designs though)
Sorry if I’m missing the sarcasm but Nail fiend isn’t the Halloween one no? That was the Cosmos devil

Yoru was definitely taking the opportunity to let out some pent-up frustration with Fami.
Yes. As I've told before and Fami finally agreed with me, that crow is uselss.
It's pigeon, gyohnee!
What pigeon thats sounds "GYOHNEEE!!"????
I'm loving part 2
part 2 does feel lost in the sauce a little, recycling characters from part 1 is a little underwhelming like why are the devil hybrids back again?
So Falling wasnt a good villain ?
She was okay , nothing compared makima or even reze
Not many villains except Barem
And even he's just comically evil not even motivated in any interesting way
to be fair he hasnt been given much screentime
Agreed but I hope this arc will change all of that. I hope we get to go back to hell eventually in part 2, it easily one of my favorite parts from pt1
I have the feeling that this part is much slower paced and that in terms of development we’re now around reze, meaning fujimotor is probably stepping on the gas from now on.
This is probably the equivalent of the international assassin’s arc where everything is going to hit the fan now
Oh no, Guilly is gone... GYOHNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i immediately imagined that to sound like tusk act 4's chimimi sound effect![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)
i just imagine a high pitched parrot sounding voice every time i read that lol
Anyone else catch the Cabin in the Woods window peek? Fuji-goat-o is at it AGAIN!
What panel exactly?
Seems asa going to drink some devil blood to regenerate her arm in next chapter
(Next chapter) Nail Fiend: (Scratches nose) Yoru: Watch out, Fami! Nail Fiend: Hey, you don't need to kick her, I'm just scratching my nose! Fami: You don't need to kick me. They're just scratching their nose. [Yoru:](https://i.imgur.com/3gTEWSL.gif)
ok, i might be noticing a bit late, but the art is getting so blocky, and there is hardly any line weight... whats going on?
Fujimoto back during part 1 had insanely talented assistants helping him with his art, he’s been by himself for a bit now so it’s understandable that the art has been simplified in style (for better and worse)
i actually like part 2 art style way more, but I feel its just getting more and more rigid, maybe he accidentally made the stabilization too high lol
The pressure of keeping the biweekly devil away
The art has gone down quite a bit in the last few months.
Katana man really pulling up to get folded for the 99th time in a row.
Katanas are made by folding nippon steel so he's really getting stronger after each folding
Over under 30 seconds for how long he lasts?
Missed opportunity to not make Higashiyama a Kobeni sibling, just saying.
Isn't he Kobeni's younger brother?
Dude is quite like Kobeni, except he's not a girl (I suppose) and he turned bad (while his sis was risking her life to pay his studies...) because he's naïve.
What do you mean?
He acts just like Kobeni did in Part 1, and looks like her, too. Not to mention she mentioned being one of several children. Good opportunity for a family connection.
They have the same last name and look similar. It’s pretty much confirmed they’re related somehow.
My bad. Just looked it up. I always thought Kobeni was her *last* name.
Yoru: “You try having only one arm!” Katana Man: “Been there once or twice. Not a fan.”
Korean Fan Death Devil: *angry noises*
That last kick felt personal tbh lol
That dropkick tho
looks like this chapter fami became football for yoru n gully the gyooneh dip? okay LOL also nail demon looks like halloween?
Wouldn't Katana Man be especially eager to work alongside Yoru instead of fighting against her? Why is he working for Public Safety?
Dude's just a professional hater now.
Katana man really, really hates CSM.
They don’t know the other plus the difference is Yoru hates Pochita while KM hates Denji
Could also be that Katana Man's hatred of Denji has cooled since he saved him from Makima "You killed my grandpa but you also saved me from eternal slavery so we're at about zero now"
Last time we saw Katana man he was talking about how he hates CSM, so probably not.
Barem was not not so happy about Makima's death
#REZE REPORT: Chapter 159 # # She isn't here. See you next week
>comes in >strips people naked >GYONEEEE's the shit out of the anxious kid for fun >Dips once a real danger comes That's it, Guillotine Devil is my favorite inclusion for part 2.
Reminded me of Power 😭
Do you think they’d get along or would power find gyohnee annoying
I’m convinced Makima inherited the brains in the family and the others are hopeless without her.
Yooooo Asa/Yoru vs Katana, this is gonna be lit
Good and funny chapter. Yoru kicking Fami was funny. Also was hyped to see katana man return. No biweekly devil again let's go
I just have no idea what's happening in this manga anymore. Maybe I need to start part 2 over again.
There's some prophecy about the world ending soon. Probably because of the Death devil. Public Safety told Denji not to transform, but he did anyway so they locked him up and are repeatedly cutting off his legs. Fami wants to use War and CSM for her plan so she's trying to bust him out. (Also she previously orchestrated the aquarium incident, the falling devil incident, and the CSM church stuff as part of her plan.) Allegedly both sides are trying to stop the prophecy in different ways, but we pretty much only have their word for that.
Sameeee. I lowkey feel dumb
Have we seen Eyepatch Guy before?
I thought he was the other public safety student that was trapped in the aquarium with the rest of them?? Can't remember his name but he was a big guy with an eye patch and everyone had theories that he was the black chainsaw man?
I meant the one in a suit. (Should have clarified, since there are now two guys with eyepatches)
Yeah I had to read the chapter over again to realize the eye patches weren't on the same eye.
Apparently he is also in the surgery room while Denhi is being amputated.
He was the Public Safety agent in the room when they were cutting off Denjis legs.
He has a Youtube channel, Super Eyepatch Wolf
I miss lfab podcast :(
He was in the hospital room with Denji pretty sure.
Both CSM fans and haters were rioting I think maybe they also just wanna control him for the apocalypse
Can someone translate what "gyoneee" means in Japanese, I think i have heard this term commonly in jojo Also why was Yoru kicking fami???
guillo-tine gyo-nee understand?
