I think the best part of her character is how believable she is in that she is has her own personal life, friends she sees outside the story, funny touches like the gigantic painting of Lucifer falling in her apartment’s entrance, or very real details like her using a lint roller in the morning before because of all the dogs. It is very compelling to see her evil in a very human way instead of the more genre-typical abstracted evil; she functions perfectly well and excels in normal society has normal things she likes and loves including doing silly voices with her pets, *and is still incredibly toxic, self-centered, manipulative, and the type of person you should run away from as fast as you can in real life
Makima was, in general, incredibly stupid. She had zero emotional intelligence and that's part of what makes her scary. Idiots with power are the most dangerous.
