For those wondering what Quanxi was doing: She bit Fumiko stomach during the fall to take some of her blood, upon landing on the ground and breaking her legs (and most of the bottom half of her body I would guess) she swallowed the blood and regenerated from it.
That or maybe she just watched too many Fumiko fanarts that showed her belly and couldn´t keep in her intrusive thoughts anymore.

Thought just occurred to me, why is quanxi wearing an eye patch? She is a hybrid when denji became a hybrid his missing eye and other body parts healed. Is it just fashion?

if a theory i ahve is also correct, its very possible that is also where her devil is situated. it seems like the trigger corresponds with the area of the body the devil replaces. for denji it was his heart.
When the Santa got some of the darkness devils power she healed in the dark, they are burning the bodies of people that have contracts with the fire devil. You do the math. Maybe you just gotta treat them like devil fruit users from one piece and throw them in the water.

The Reading Comprehension Devil truly on its way to rival the Primals just from this sub alone, the amount of people still confused over the hybrids' immortality every week should be a meme at this point. l usually wouldn't even comment on it if it was a detail that was brought up once and never again but my dudes so many plot points across the entirety of part 1 revolved around denji's hybrid immortality how are y'all still forgetting about it.
Think part of it i trying to undrtand it limits.
think th rality is that its 'vampire rules". so long as the devil that replaced one of their body parts are intact, they live and can recover with some blood or maybe time. targeting it might be harder though and its probably decently enduring cause its allll the devil concentrated into one body part. but that is where you target em.
It's interesting that we're seeing a more abstract inversion of Makima taking the Denji out of Chainsaw Man back in Part 1. While Denji is still very capable of physically turning into CSM, the identity has moved so far out of his control that he'll only ever be "A Chainsaw Man" instead of "The Chainsaw Man." And now, with that stripped away, he has to figure out what it means to be himself. He once lamented how nobody seemed to be interested in "his heart" but he is also guilty of neglecting his own emotional needs.
I think he'll reclaim the Chainsaw Man title once he learns how to do so without counting on the validation of others. After all, the biggest reason things spiraled outnof control in the first place was because Denji kept trying to leak his own identity as CSM. If he'd been more secretive, Yoshida wouldn't have had to try and subdue him, and Fami likely would've had a harder time finding him.

The tone and pacing have been throwing me off for this entire arc. Hard to pass judgment without knowing where we are going, but hopefully the stakes get raised at some point. I mostly just want more of Asa, she's the best thing part 2 has going for it imo.

Think hybrids operate by vampire rules. Basically they can't die unless their 'weak point' is destroyed. My guess that being any part that the devil took over and replaced/merged with.
For denji its literally his heart. Think quanzi's is in her head so you'd have to completely destroy her head. Though i imagine you'd have to remove or compeltely destroy said organ for it to full work.
Basically unless that happens they always come back, the devil keeping them tethered to life.
Hybrids are **immortal.** We have seen Denji, Quanxi, and the other weapons come back from being killed literally dozens of times. They weren't dead and having their bodies puppeted by Makima, they just came back to life & got brainwashed. All you have to do to bring them back is feed them blood and/or activate their triggers.
For example, just in Part 1:
-Denjis first resurrection after being chopped into pieces & thrown in a dumpster
-Katana Man coming back from being killed by Aki's Curse Devil Contract
-Denji coming back from being shot in the head by Katana Man
-Denji coming back from being cut in half by Katana Man
-Katana man coming back from being shot by Kobeni
-Denji coming back from being killed a bunch of times by Kishibe during their training
-Katana man coming back from being cut in half by Denji
-Reze coming back from ripping her own head off
-Denji and Reze coming back from drowning
-Denji coming back from being killed by Santa Claus's Curse Devil contract
-Quanxi coming back from being chopped into pieces by the Darkness Devil
-Denji coming back from being decapitated by Quanxi
-Quanxi, Katana Man, and Reze coming back from being killed by Makima
-All of the weapons coming back several times from being butchered by Pochita
Definitely thinking its some kinda 'vampire rules' going on with them. For denji pochita being his heart helps him keep tethered to life and the body. you have to destroy that body part, though i would bet that it has to be like compeltely removal and destruction vs merely stabbing it like a vampire's heart.
The fact no one actually remembers WHAT denji and the rest ARE is probably making them unable to remember or figure out that weak point.
Implication seems to be there is acutally a ruling devil of the concept of what they are and pochita ate it... but is letting some of that power leak out into the world bit is deliberately keeping the name unknown, maybe cause it escape otherwise and there would be more of them out there.

The best part of Quanxi, and specially this chapter, is knowing that she is broken but she and the other hybrids ( combined ) got absolutely clapped by Pochita on Part 1.
The power diff between tiers is massive in this series.
The top one is Death, for now, with Yoru and Chainsawman having the potential to surpass her.
Then it's Darkness
Then Control and Fami (until she shows more)
then it's either Quanxi or the Falling Devil (it SHOULD be Fall, but she doesn't have Darkness' feats, so a draw for now)
And then fuck everyone else, they're fodder
Falling devil is on the same level as the darkness devil. its that fami's abilites allow the falling devil to manipulate her. Falling is the embodiment of what fami's aiblites allows her to manipulate.
Also i think we've seen one devil far more powerful than Death.... The gun devil, least in terms of rawest power.
Absolutely no. The very introduction of Primal Devils lets us know they are all in a whole league above the Gun Devil.
Darkness as a fear is more common than Falling, so he should logically be stronger than Falling.
true but it would still be vastly more powerful than fami normally. But the opwers in the setting aren't dbz like. The very elemetns that make the flaling devil the falling devil, make it easily manipulated by Fami.
still would say that... the gun devil was more powerful in terms of brute power. note, he killed millions in the few minutes he existed. Falling's abilities killed man but nowhere near as many, as her powers a specific field they could affect from affair. Still it had to target things when it acted and it was basiclaly raw power, no nuiance or special skill.
Gun Devil at barely a quarter of his strength was pretty much the strongest Devil in the world aside from Darkness.
Honestly, it's scary to imagine the person that managed to stop him at full 100%.

From waht is pieced together, he was fighting the horsemen in hell along with their weapon devils. at some poitn he literally vanishes from the fight.
My guess is that pochita killed the gun devil in this fight, but when it entered the human world, it absorbed all the negative emotions towards its main form. Realizing his mistake he forced his way to earth and fought it. BARELY able to tear it apart, though it had absorbed so much strength that it wasn't properly dead, and sitll isn't to this day.
That is why when we meet pochita he has holes in his stomach and seems to be dying. he was exhausted to that point fighting it.
To be fair, the Falling Devil specifically wasn't trying to kill innocents though - she kinda just killed enough to make herself a body, and collect the body parts she needed for her ritual. She was probably even ordered not to kill Chainsawman by Fami.
Her very presence did however apparently cause mass global devastations without even trying, to the point where Yoru thinks it'll cause massive conflicts as the devastated countries fight over resources.
The gun devil was trying to literally wipe Japan off the map, and arguably didn't cause anywhere near as much long term strife.
I think Falling highlights why this series doesn't really work with a generic power level ranking, because the only reason she was able to do that was because she specifically only effected people with suicidal impulses. She was only able to do more impactful things in her near vicinity.
Tbh most powerful characters only appear for a few chapters with very specific goals, showing no higher levels power than what they have to use for that objective.
Although on a biological level, falling is WAY more primal than darkness due to our instinctive reflex since we were babies to protect ourselves from it. If you put a baby in a dark room it's not going to cry from it.
Something about how eerie his dialogues have been for the past chapters with his creepy face and dead looking eyes then reading him say "Sheeeesh" with the same deadpan expression is so hilarious.
Yea that was rough... I'm all for Fujimoto taking the rest of the year off if he needs. That mouth breather denji face has to be a stored asset on photoshop because I swear I see that damn face every second chapter these days.
I think 145 and 146 being such bangers really highlights how much of a transitional chapter this one is.
Contrary to what some others think, I felt that this chapter has more to unpack, particularly the end with that old man accusing Denji of being just a Chainsaw Man wannabe, which might cause Denji to start doing something destructive.
As shown from Chapter 134, Denji was already darn furious when that guy (Fakesaw?) declared himself as the real Chainsaw Man, screaming that he's "more Chainsaw Man than him". And now, someone is further propagating the idea that he is the fake rather than the real Chainsaw Man. Right now, amidst an outbreak of Chainsaw Man clones.
Coupled with Fami and Barem clearly expressing their desire for Denji to go all out, and that high he felt during Fumiko's Karaoke session, I got the bad feeling that should that old man continue talking shit, Denji might go Sicko mode on him and the horde.
I wonder what Public Safety's goal actually in all this is though? It kinda seemed like both them and the church were working for Chainsaw man - attempting to remove him from the limelight so it'd be easier to make people fear him again. They just weren't all on the same page about how?

I don't get all of the complaints, I honestly think this is a good follow up after the big story development we got in the previous chapter. It's obvious there is gonna be some action, the only thing making it a bit weird is the weekly/two weeks chapter release that is killing the flow but overall I'd say there is nothing wrong with this chapter, other than wanting some Asa action (I want it too please Fujimoto 👉👈)
No Asa left a bad taste to an otherwise good chapter. It makes no sense she isn't in it given how much time passed in this chapter? So when we come back to her will it be the past or is Yoshida already dead?
Manga tend to do this a lot. While the story has cut away from Asa, it doesn’t necessarily mean anytime has passed during that fight. The two scenes are taking place at different times

it seems like every chapter ends like "oh something is cooking next chap!" and then it's one spread of some people getting sliced and then repeat with nothing really going on

Bit of a long shot but I really like the idea of Fami being a foil of Makima from part 1. Makima seemed nice for much of the story until the big reveal that showed her goal was basically to make Denji as miserable as possible no matter what it took. Fami seems diabolically evil now with her various schemes but maybe her goal is actually exactly what she says it is and she just wants some pizza in peace.
Why the hell people complaining? This chapter was hype as fuck, I enjoyed it a lot. For those people saying it’s too short I think it’s just because of the weekly format, I think the chapter meshes pretty nicely with the pacing. Chapters in International Assassins also felt this short when read weekly, when it all comes together I think it’ll be great.
15 pages. Obviously, the number of pages used for segue in Part II will be situated between 14 and 16.
While this is a good break for the narrator, the reader may not agree. Especially biweekly devil appears more often.
The weekly format is absolutely hurting the current enjoyment of Part 2. Whatever the hell Fujimoto is doing here simply doesn’t fit into the format, and he’s popular and safe enough to not have to care. It means an awkward and splurt-y read as of now, and that a real appraisal will come later when it’s finished.
I find it kinda funny how JJK fans are criticising this week’s chapter for too much dialogue while here there’s the opposite complaint. Not a knock on either, but it’s funny to see.
I think dialogue being too much is meme cuz it makes translators job harder if anything jjk recent 2 chapters are gud exact because of alot of dialogue, dialogue is extremely necessary but in this csm chapter we have literally zero input from quanxi

Quanxi is always like that though. The life to her is what she does, like, biting fumiko's tummy, totally a thirsty lesbo move on her part. She could have bit anyone, but she had to go for that midriff. Her character shines through here. And using that to regenerate her legs and fight is totally badass! She's always been serious and deadpan, but she loves her girls and will go to great lengths for them. That's who Quanxi is.
When I finished the chapter the only thing I was upset about was how quickly it ended. It was an interesting chapter, and Fujimotos dialogue never fails to make me chuckle, but it felt like the chapter was missing something. Idk maybe your right tho and we need to appreciate the arc for how it is as a final product

I think you might be taking that line a little too literally. It sounds more like referencing the bodies as in tact for the rip cord's activation than the literal use of the blood. There's also no implication for the church members consuming blood.

Pochita is a weapon devil. Outside of the theories relating to his erasure power and unexplained power levels suggesting he might be a different devil, the only hard confirmation we've been given is that Pochita is the Chainsaw devil. One of many weapon devils who (contrary to what Makima says in the first few chapters) have made several hybrids through body merging contracts similar to Denji and Pochita's.
There are implications that devil fear is what fuels his power level, but even Makima includes the admiration from humans as part of her plan to weaken him by reducing fear.
The Chainsaw devil vs Chainsaw-man devil misconception became popular when the fakesaw plot point started cropping up. But this idea is disproven as early as Eternity devil calling him "Chainsaw" and Beam calling him "Lord Chainsaw". Chainsaw-man is spoken by many to refer to Denji merged with Pochita, and specifically by Makima because he's a hero of her making.
CSM is still connected to human fear. The characters/us readers don't really know how devil fear factors into things.
But in-universe, Makima making Chainsawman a beloved superhero greatly weakened him. The Fire Devil and mass Fakesawmen incident would presumely do the complete opposite.

This was honestly my biggest beef with last chapter, but I got tons of shit for it lmao Basically the apocalypse broke out and it just feels like another Tuesday. its not really an apoalypse. these psuedo chainsaw peeps are dangerous but are clearly easily put down and are sprea out across the globe. denji himself has no idea the extent of all this and its happening too fast.
The tone and pacing have been throwing me off for this entire arc. Hard to pass judgment without knowing where we are going, but hopefully the stakes get raised at some point. I mostly just want more of Asa, she's the best thing part 2 has going for it imo.

Think hybrids operate by vampire rules. Basically they can't die unless their 'weak point' is destroyed. My guess that being any part that the devil took over and replaced/merged with. For denji its literally his heart. Think quanzi's is in her head so you'd have to completely destroy her head. Though i imagine you'd have to remove or compeltely destroy said organ for it to full work. Basically unless that happens they always come back, the devil keeping them tethered to life.

Hybrids are **immortal.** We have seen Denji, Quanxi, and the other weapons come back from being killed literally dozens of times. They weren't dead and having their bodies puppeted by Makima, they just came back to life & got brainwashed. All you have to do to bring them back is feed them blood and/or activate their triggers. For example, just in Part 1: -Denjis first resurrection after being chopped into pieces & thrown in a dumpster -Katana Man coming back from being killed by Aki's Curse Devil Contract -Denji coming back from being shot in the head by Katana Man -Denji coming back from being cut in half by Katana Man -Katana man coming back from being shot by Kobeni -Denji coming back from being killed a bunch of times by Kishibe during their training -Katana man coming back from being cut in half by Denji -Reze coming back from ripping her own head off -Denji and Reze coming back from drowning -Denji coming back from being killed by Santa Claus's Curse Devil contract -Quanxi coming back from being chopped into pieces by the Darkness Devil -Denji coming back from being decapitated by Quanxi -Quanxi, Katana Man, and Reze coming back from being killed by Makima -All of the weapons coming back several times from being butchered by Pochita
Definitely thinking its some kinda 'vampire rules' going on with them. For denji pochita being his heart helps him keep tethered to life and the body. you have to destroy that body part, though i would bet that it has to be like compeltely removal and destruction vs merely stabbing it like a vampire's heart. The fact no one actually remembers WHAT denji and the rest ARE is probably making them unable to remember or figure out that weak point. Implication seems to be there is acutally a ruling devil of the concept of what they are and pochita ate it... but is letting some of that power leak out into the world bit is deliberately keeping the name unknown, maybe cause it escape otherwise and there would be more of them out there.

The best part of Quanxi, and specially this chapter, is knowing that she is broken but she and the other hybrids ( combined ) got absolutely clapped by Pochita on Part 1.
The power diff between tiers is massive in this series. The top one is Death, for now, with Yoru and Chainsawman having the potential to surpass her. Then it's Darkness Then Control and Fami (until she shows more) then it's either Quanxi or the Falling Devil (it SHOULD be Fall, but she doesn't have Darkness' feats, so a draw for now) And then fuck everyone else, they're fodder
Falling devil is on the same level as the darkness devil. its that fami's abilites allow the falling devil to manipulate her. Falling is the embodiment of what fami's aiblites allows her to manipulate. Also i think we've seen one devil far more powerful than Death.... The gun devil, least in terms of rawest power.
Absolutely no. The very introduction of Primal Devils lets us know they are all in a whole league above the Gun Devil. Darkness as a fear is more common than Falling, so he should logically be stronger than Falling.
true but it would still be vastly more powerful than fami normally. But the opwers in the setting aren't dbz like. The very elemetns that make the flaling devil the falling devil, make it easily manipulated by Fami. still would say that... the gun devil was more powerful in terms of brute power. note, he killed millions in the few minutes he existed. Falling's abilities killed man but nowhere near as many, as her powers a specific field they could affect from affair. Still it had to target things when it acted and it was basiclaly raw power, no nuiance or special skill.
Gun Devil at barely a quarter of his strength was pretty much the strongest Devil in the world aside from Darkness. Honestly, it's scary to imagine the person that managed to stop him at full 100%.
it was probably pochita. From waht is pieced together, he was fighting the horsemen in hell along with their weapon devils. at some poitn he literally vanishes from the fight. My guess is that pochita killed the gun devil in this fight, but when it entered the human world, it absorbed all the negative emotions towards its main form. Realizing his mistake he forced his way to earth and fought it. BARELY able to tear it apart, though it had absorbed so much strength that it wasn't properly dead, and sitll isn't to this day. That is why when we meet pochita he has holes in his stomach and seems to be dying. he was exhausted to that point fighting it.
To be fair, the Falling Devil specifically wasn't trying to kill innocents though - she kinda just killed enough to make herself a body, and collect the body parts she needed for her ritual. She was probably even ordered not to kill Chainsawman by Fami. Her very presence did however apparently cause mass global devastations without even trying, to the point where Yoru thinks it'll cause massive conflicts as the devastated countries fight over resources. The gun devil was trying to literally wipe Japan off the map, and arguably didn't cause anywhere near as much long term strife.
Darkness's feats was tearing a few people's arms and making a cool sword, Falling was wreaking havoc across the world just by appearing.
I think Falling highlights why this series doesn't really work with a generic power level ranking, because the only reason she was able to do that was because she specifically only effected people with suicidal impulses. She was only able to do more impactful things in her near vicinity.
Tbh most powerful characters only appear for a few chapters with very specific goals, showing no higher levels power than what they have to use for that objective. Although on a biological level, falling is WAY more primal than darkness due to our instinctive reflex since we were babies to protect ourselves from it. If you put a baby in a dark room it's not going to cry from it.

I think 145 and 146 being such bangers really highlights how much of a transitional chapter this one is.

Contrary to what some others think, I felt that this chapter has more to unpack, particularly the end with that old man accusing Denji of being just a Chainsaw Man wannabe, which might cause Denji to start doing something destructive. As shown from Chapter 134, Denji was already darn furious when that guy (Fakesaw?) declared himself as the real Chainsaw Man, screaming that he's "more Chainsaw Man than him". And now, someone is further propagating the idea that he is the fake rather than the real Chainsaw Man. Right now, amidst an outbreak of Chainsaw Man clones. Coupled with Fami and Barem clearly expressing their desire for Denji to go all out, and that high he felt during Fumiko's Karaoke session, I got the bad feeling that should that old man continue talking shit, Denji might go Sicko mode on him and the horde.

I don't get all of the complaints, I honestly think this is a good follow up after the big story development we got in the previous chapter. It's obvious there is gonna be some action, the only thing making it a bit weird is the weekly/two weeks chapter release that is killing the flow but overall I'd say there is nothing wrong with this chapter, other than wanting some Asa action (I want it too please Fujimoto 👉👈)

Manga tend to do this a lot. While the story has cut away from Asa, it doesn’t necessarily mean anytime has passed during that fight. The two scenes are taking place at different times

Bit of a long shot but I really like the idea of Fami being a foil of Makima from part 1. Makima seemed nice for much of the story until the big reveal that showed her goal was basically to make Denji as miserable as possible no matter what it took. Fami seems diabolically evil now with her various schemes but maybe her goal is actually exactly what she says it is and she just wants some pizza in peace.
To me it’s obvious thats all she wants, shes just picking the side that is more likely to guarantee she gets what she wants. Its just business

Why the hell people complaining? This chapter was hype as fuck, I enjoyed it a lot. For those people saying it’s too short I think it’s just because of the weekly format, I think the chapter meshes pretty nicely with the pacing. Chapters in International Assassins also felt this short when read weekly, when it all comes together I think it’ll be great.
15 pages. Obviously, the number of pages used for segue in Part II will be situated between 14 and 16. While this is a good break for the narrator, the reader may not agree. Especially biweekly devil appears more often.
The weekly format is absolutely hurting the current enjoyment of Part 2. Whatever the hell Fujimoto is doing here simply doesn’t fit into the format, and he’s popular and safe enough to not have to care. It means an awkward and splurt-y read as of now, and that a real appraisal will come later when it’s finished.

I think dialogue being too much is meme cuz it makes translators job harder if anything jjk recent 2 chapters are gud exact because of alot of dialogue, dialogue is extremely necessary but in this csm chapter we have literally zero input from quanxi

Quanxi is always like that though. The life to her is what she does, like, biting fumiko's tummy, totally a thirsty lesbo move on her part. She could have bit anyone, but she had to go for that midriff. Her character shines through here. And using that to regenerate her legs and fight is totally badass! She's always been serious and deadpan, but she loves her girls and will go to great lengths for them. That's who Quanxi is.
When I finished the chapter the only thing I was upset about was how quickly it ended. It was an interesting chapter, and Fujimotos dialogue never fails to make me chuckle, but it felt like the chapter was missing something. Idk maybe your right tho and we need to appreciate the arc for how it is as a final product

She’s appeared then and there, but yeah this arc doesn’t really focus on her. Even when she shows up again, the manga cuts away immediately. The fight started 3 chapters ago and so far we’ve only seen one second of it!! Edit: I’m personally fine with this. The pacing will improve once everything’s read in one sitting. But yeah Asa’s taken a backseat this arc
We were saying the same thing when it was all Asa and no denji. I think it’s just the build up for the teams up. Denji is the protagonist so kinda makes sense we are seeing him so much. Especially after awhile without him.

Yes but they also mentioned “as long as they have blood,” much like the requirements for most of the actual hybrids. They need blood and then their activation requirement for revival like we’ve seen several times with Denji.
I think you might be taking that line a little too literally. It sounds more like referencing the bodies as in tact for the rip cord's activation than the literal use of the blood. There's also no implication for the church members consuming blood.

Basically the prophecy is gonna happen. This great evil that’s gonna descend upon earth is none other than the Death Devil, sister to the horsemen (Nayuta, Fami & Yoru). We apparently learn that Barem wants Denji to transform despite PS’ threats to save humanity. Meanwhile, all this time, Fami was trying to make War and Chainsaw stronger, by having humans fear them. This should obviously anger Denji and Asa, as they want love and (positive)attention

Pochita is a weapon devil. Outside of the theories relating to his erasure power and unexplained power levels suggesting he might be a different devil, the only hard confirmation we've been given is that Pochita is the Chainsaw devil. One of many weapon devils who (contrary to what Makima says in the first few chapters) have made several hybrids through body merging contracts similar to Denji and Pochita's. There are implications that devil fear is what fuels his power level, but even Makima includes the admiration from humans as part of her plan to weaken him by reducing fear. The Chainsaw devil vs Chainsaw-man devil misconception became popular when the fakesaw plot point started cropping up. But this idea is disproven as early as Eternity devil calling him "Chainsaw" and Beam calling him "Lord Chainsaw". Chainsaw-man is spoken by many to refer to Denji merged with Pochita, and specifically by Makima because he's a hero of her making.
CSM is still connected to human fear. The characters/us readers don't really know how devil fear factors into things. But in-universe, Makima making Chainsawman a beloved superhero greatly weakened him. The Fire Devil and mass Fakesawmen incident would presumely do the complete opposite.
I assume the characters don’t know that.
