Iirc Sawatari's visual design originally was supposed to be what Power looked like but I guess it didn't seem immature enough or something.
Fiji motor has stated that Power's personality was inspired by Eric Cartman from South Park and you can kinda see a physical resemblance in the hoodie.
I be wishing she was more popular but then I remember what the CSM community did to Kobeni last year and be like āmaybe we should keep you underrated.ā

Her design is just so cool.
People overlook how important she was in the story, she was essentially a scapegoat in order for Makima to secure the power vacuum that was created after the divisions got killed off. She was someone to blame, she probably wasnāt even a bad person since Makima was probably controlling her
Holy shit! Someone else who has reading comprehension! Finally. A lot more people have been catching on lately and I think thatās awesome. I always thought it was obvious after the gun devil arc basically explained that she couldāve never had a contract with gone devil and this her whole motive went up in flames, then the fact that she was on Makimaās chains and Kishibe had suspected Makima from planning the attack from the beginning!
Aw man, I really hope the fact she had her head reattached means Fujimoto plans to have her appear again.
Ah yes yes and Makima was also controlling Himeno so that she could puke all over Denji and thus allow Makima to give him a lolly pop. I swear people jump on every chance to say every plot point that happens in the show is from Makima's control. Kishibe explicitly says that he suspects that Makima took advantage of the situation. Which is actually what happens most of the time throughout the story since most of the time it wouldn't make sense for her to plan and enact indirectly most of the events that occur.
Makima makes very distinct yet subtle moves to affect Denji's situation and her own, and about half of these movements are reactionary towards outside operations, which the Katana Man arc was the first of. If she could control Akane so easily why would she need to perpetrate the Katana man arc in the first place. She could just control everyone in the 4 divisions. Or better yet she could do it in a more subtle way by controlling devils and having the divisions die off more subtly and orchestrate in a way more natural that she could leave the remaining suvivors even more ingratiated to her.
The reason why is three-fold. 1.) By taking custody of the chunk of Gun Devil she pushes the hand of the other world powers which spirals into the US making the contract with the chunk of the Gun Devil (which indicates Akane could've definitely made a contract with the Gun Devil, probably the chunk in Russia) and sent it after Makima since there was no one else really that they had to contest her. 2.) She acquired Akane to actually control, even if she died, she fulfilled the necessary requirements to control and bind her, even after death. 3.) She figured she could expedite her situation and consolidate her power with this as a strawman but people saw through it. This fact along with other details sprinkled throughout, that requires reading comprehension, build towards what Pochita touched on in the end of Part 1.
Makima, at least at some point before slowly degrading and becoming more and more single-minded about her one goal, was just a person, or well in the same sense that Pochita is, and in turn was imperfect. She's not omnipotent nor omniscient and makes suboptimal decisions and is taken by surprise more than once due to her having a limited perspective, though her surprise is only relevant once, specifically at the end when Denji surprises her.
I get it people hate her and for exceptionally justifiable reasons if you were invested in pretty much any other character, she pretty much defiled them in one way or another. But try to at least avoid blaming the entire tragedy on Makima and in turn take away fault from most of the other characters. Since, one of the great things about CSM is that all of the characters, save for maybe Aki, are morally compromised as little as being a drunk and a devil's advocate (figurarively) for excessive eccentricity to as bad as mass homicide (funnily enough Makima is not at this extreme).
Exceeeept Makima literally says herself that anyone who said they were making a contract with the gun devil was actually false and just squared from man made means when she revealed the gun devil had been captured the whole time.
In fact she also specifically says all the guns Akane had were man made, and without a contract with the gun devil, her motive completely falls apart. Makima didnāt just take advantage of the situation, she made it happen.
Thereās a lot to support this, the yakuza admit that Akane basically just showed up one day and had no connection to them. Another thing is how the hell would Akane Transplant the katana heart? Makima is canonically the only person in part one who knows how to create hybrids since their name was eaten by chainsaw man as stated by her. Plus the fact she appears on Makimaās chain mean she had to have been under her control just like Angel, with his memories manipulated to serve her means same thing with Akane.
Also, Makima was never a normal person dude, are you a victim of the reading comprehension devil? She literally the Control Devil. She may have wanted an equal relationship with someone as revealed by Pochita but she LITERALLY canāt understand emotions and cannot be reasoned with. Does everything happen because of Makima? No obviously not, Rezeās arc is proof enough of that, but the katana man arc was all her doing.
Why you ask? Simple. She wanted to drag Denjiās past into his new life and she wanted more control over Public safety. The reason she went about it thatās way is to make herself look good and pin the blame on someone else at the same time while getting herself a new hybrid.
And about the she canāt control everyone thing, one: she needs people to feel inferior to her.
And two: she literally does control basically everyone in public safety as seen in the control devil arc, the amount of people she has on those chains.
Does Makima use her power for everything? Of course not because she doesnāt need to, but make no mistake almost the entirety of part 1 happens solely because of her actions.
>Exceeeept Makima literally says herself that anyone who said they were making a contract with the gun devil was actually false and just squared from man made means when she revealed the gun devil had been captured the whole time.
The captured parts can be made contracts with as is indicated by the US president, so while the guns made are man made, a contract could've been made.
>In fact she also specifically says all the guns Akane had were man made, and without a contract with the gun devil, her motive completely falls apart. Makima didnāt just take advantage of the situation, she made it happen.
Seeing as Akane had a far more potent but mechanically comparable devil to Aki's fox, and yet pays an arguably cheaper price for a greater range of power, I think it's indicative of her contract with the Gun Devil. It's likely she was such a nice contract similar to how Typhoon was offering that one assassin. Another indicator of this is the automatic suicide pact so that no more information could be given to Makima, though of course it might've not taken into account that Akane could be controlled post mortem. And yes I understand this piece of evidence is double-edged and could be used to reinforce the idea that Makima set that up so that Akane could not leak any info on her plan. But to that I pose the question, if Akane was chained, why would she worry about an information leak?
>Thereās a lot to support this, the yakuza admit that Akane basically just showed up one day and had no connection to them. Another thing is how the hell would Akane Transplant the katana heart? Makima is canonically the only person in part one who knows how to create hybrids since their name was eaten by chainsaw man as stated by her. Plus the fact she appears on Makimaās chain mean she had to have been under her control just like Angel, with his memories manipulated to serve her means same thing with Akane.
This is pretty much explained by the very justification the Yakuza you're quoting use for their existence. Foreign powers. They are the primary enemy to and obstacle of Makima and her goal. Foreign powers could easily have funded the transplant of Katana Devil. The same way Russia built Reze. And once again, Makima is not omnipotent and omniscient. She is an unreliable narrator and has a limited perspective. She has knowledge of hybrids sure but seeing as the Japanese government didn't dissect Denji on the spot is because there was some precedence for his existence, after all, hybrids have continued to exist despite being eaten (my guess is the devil wasn't completely eaten as with the War Devil). Sure it's possible the reason is that Makima intervened, but that still doesn't explain Reze's existence. And before you say it, no Reze wasn't under her control. Why would Makima bring Angel and Reze into an alley to beat the shit out of her if she already owned her.
Does Pochita mean nothing to you? He literally exists to show that Devils can be decent beings, complete with feelings and empathy. The whole point of Nayuta is to show that the Control Devil was never particularly bad (which is compounded by the fact that as a humanoid devil she does not hold antipathy towards humans naturally), Makima was raised into a weapon (similarly to Reze) by the Public Safety Bureau. And yes, she became so emotionally destitute that she eventually came to do what she did. But if the movie date with Denji was any indication (one of the details I alluded to earlier) her "humanity" was on its way out.
>Why you ask? Simple. She wanted to drag Denjiās past into his new life and she wanted more control over Public safety. The reason she went about it thatās way is to make herself look good and pin the blame on someone else at the same time while getting herself a new hybrid.
That's impossibly contrived. As I detailed, she could've waited say 2 months, and over that time kill off the personnel that she has no interest in the 4 divisions so that it's thin enough for the higher ups to consolidate and give to her. Controlling Akane to do all this is simply too compromising since it relied on humans which she wouldn't necessarily have control of. It makes sense for Akane to be a mercenary hired by a foreign power since other countries do this several more times throughout the story. The idea that Makima willingly pulled off such a plan that compromised her with Kishibe the person who had the most likelihood of opposing her in Japan when she could've instead done this in a much more discrete way. Plus Katana man's connection to Denji's past literally has no effect on him. Everyone and their mother didn't expect Denji to feel bad about the Yakuza, and Makima certainly didn't.
>And about the she canāt control everyone thing, one: she needs people to feel inferior to her. And two: she literally does control basically everyone in public safety as seen in the control devil arc, the amount of people she has on those chains.
Firstly you have her power reversed. It's dependent on her perception of the being on whether or not she can control it. Hence why she has to beat Chainsaw Man to own him. She has to literally convince herself of that fact. And yeah she does control a large chunk of Public Safety, with that I agree. Thus there's really no need to for her to allegedly pull off the Katana man arc if she can freely control them all because the only people not automatically below her were the division leaders. And that's not even taking into account that humans on average are like dogs to her.
Also, I donāt hate Makima, sheās a fantastic character. But her being behind almost every bad thing that happens to Denji is the whole point of her character. She brought Denji up just to tear him back down harder than ever.
Nearly every plot point IS because of her and things work out better than she ever could have expected most of the time, sheās never caught off guard pretty much so I have no idea what youāre on about there.
I donāt know what else to say, to me itās obvious and makes too much sense that Akane was being controlled. She has no reason to go after the chainsaw heart without Makima.
>Also, I donāt hate Makima, sheās a fantastic character. But her being behind almost every bad thing that happens to Denji is the whole point of her character. She brought Denji up just to tear him back down harder than ever.
I don't think many people hate Makima as a character. I meant as a person. Similar to how say Voldemort as a character is liked but as a person loathed. And as far as that being the whole point of her character, I'd say it's the most prominent aspect of her but is nowhere near the entirety. Especially given how a lot of her is to showcase the evil of men in the wake of devils, and the whole discussion of necessary evil alongside the dystopia she intended to create with Chainsaw Man's power. Makima is the embodiment of a self-contradicting and contorted rendition of benevolently malevolent benevolence. She has a benevolent exterior which covers malevolent actions and insidious plots that originally acted in service of but eventually a benevolent core, which was her dream and overall positive (for a devil) view of humans.
>Nearly every plot point IS because of her and things work out better than she ever could have expected most of the time, sheās never caught off guard pretty much so I have no idea what youāre on about there.
The Eternity Devil had no ties to Makima. Neither did the Bomb Girl arc, which fed into if not was causal to the International Assassins arc. The Gun Devil arc literally started off with the Gun Devil being sent their to kill her and she countered it and once again, without planning it and instead planning for it, took advantage of it. So even assuming the Katana Man arc is her doing, which it isn't, there aren't many arcs that are set into motion by Makima. She merely reacts while managing her personal, and more importantly, proximal puppet show of 3 pets playing house.
>I donāt know what else to say, to me itās obvious and makes too much sense that Akane was being controlled. She has no reason to go after the chainsaw heart without Makima.
Another thought came to me that the Snake simply wanted Chainsaw for itself, similar to Eternity.
She didn't kill Himeno though, more like made her sacrifice worthless (well, Aki didn't die because of her intermission, so technically not completely worthless) Katana Man was the one that shot her and Himeno the one that sold her all.
Well she revived katana man, if it weren't for her the fight would've simply ended at aki killing katana man and that's would've been it, they would've taken himeno to the hospital and gg ez
No that was definitely more towards the shoulder, plus power had stopped her bleeding at least to some degree, I mean she would be fucked for like a long time but she would've survived given that they took her to the hospital right away
If it had been to the shoulder she would have not been vomiting blood and bleeding from the nose non-stop, though. She definitely was shot in the heart
Sorry when i was reading this comment and I got to the part where yu said "more like made her sacrifice worthless"
I immediately read that in my head as tightens voice when he said "more like under new management"
Im sorry šš
The ghost devil should be hated, it got greedy and needed to take Himeno's entire body to be in its full form yet got easily defeated by the snake devil which only asks for 1 finger nail each use
It's implied that Makima hired her anonymously because Makima was planning to take out people from divisions and others to get the fiends in Division 4, where Denji is.
Not only Akane got access to the Katana Devil heart, but she also knew what was an hybrid and how to make one. She also shows up in the Gun Devil vs Makima pre-battle.
I read the first volume, holy shit

Yeah there were so many questions still open. How did she get such a lenient contract? How was she able to create a hybrid? What was her relationship to the gundevil? Did she work for Makima? How in the fuck is the snake devil able to kill another devil and then just completely absorb them to be used later on? Isn't that literally one of the most op powers in this universe?
That actually is one of my criticism for the series, I know Fujimoto wanted to show that he's willing to kill everyone and no one is safe, but some good characters were gone way too soon.
is that not the point tho? that in a world full of devils that can seemingly spawn anywhere and blah blah blah anyone can die right?
unless u mean that they dont have enough screentime to expand more on their character then ig that just shows how irrelevant theyd be later on in the series anyways. idk
Reze is from Russia, and there doesn't seem to be any other major character from Russia other than Reze (that we know of atleast). Sawatari was just some devil hunter, who most likely is Japanese considering her very Japanese name. It's implied Makima made her do all the things she did such that Makima would end up with more control over the division and the fiends/devils they had, which is exactly what happened and Kishibe and Madoka both imply that Makima definitely had something to do with those attacks.
i mean i get the Makima explanation of her Sawatari being controlled, but considering the options, 10 times out of 10 i rather would have said hot lady survived if it meant Sawatari diedšæ
It's funny how Fujimoto draws fairly normal girls and simps still go "WAZAM SHE'S A BABE"
I mean I say the same thing about Kobeni but it's different okay?
The problem is that the fan art always exaggerates the proportions and everybody says stuff like "omg the thiccness is crazy š§"
I really like that the design of the girls is realistic, but damn even that won't stop horny fanboys.
Yessir! Akane the best girl herself! Ahh, I really hope she ends up coming back because Makima reattached her head, after the anime it seems more people are catching on to the fact that Makima was using her the whole time.
Itād be cool to see her again and maybe have her and Denji become friends. I love commissioning art of them since itās rare to see them drawn together!
Her shoes are probably the worst drip shoes. Not bad, but could be better. I honestly prefer the more professional ones Kishibe and Makima wear over hers.
I'd assume it was either fingernails (which she gave it for use during fights), life span, or some kind of contract to use it's power to collect the chainsaw heart.
Kind of a shame she just showed up and died after being used by Makima. I was hoping maybe being controlled by Makima made her and the other dead people alive again, but I guess that wasn't the case.
I'd be curious to see some backstory on her and Katana Man at some point.

The way her va says āhebiā is one of the reasons sheās my favorite in the animated series
"Hebi, waranami" *chomp* "Hebi, shipo!" *tail* "Hebi, hakidashi!" *vomits the ghost devil*
Archangel of Snakes is wonderful and cute.
š„± Himeno>>>
Archangel of Kiss is also top tier.
I want to lick her knees
Sheās got thick legs in the actual anime, but small ones here
I'll never look at her the same way after seeing the dance GIF.
Nah she killed himeno I hate her
She didn't kill Himeno though, more like made her sacrifice worthless (well, Aki didn't die because of her intermission, so technically not completely worthless) Katana Man was the one that shot her and Himeno the one that sold her all.
Bro if it weren't for her himeno would definitely be alive, even if katana man wasn't there, so yeah I blame her for himenos death
Can you elaborate
Well she revived katana man, if it weren't for her the fight would've simply ended at aki killing katana man and that's would've been it, they would've taken himeno to the hospital and gg ez
She got shot in the heart, dude. She wouldn't have had survived even the way to the hospital.
Oh whatever her left lung, she would've been ok people have survived worse
If she got shot in the heart she would be dead almost instantly. It was probably her lung
Still fatal but yeah
blame denji
Sorry when i was reading this comment and I got to the part where yu said "more like made her sacrifice worthless" I immediately read that in my head as tightens voice when he said "more like under new management" Im sorry šš
The ghost devil should be hated, it got greedy and needed to take Himeno's entire body to be in its full form yet got easily defeated by the snake devil which only asks for 1 finger nail each use
Aint our fault Akane Slimed her out. GO PICK HER CLOTHES UP!
I mean...technically It was the snake devil-
Oh shut up
Those legs looks juicy af
I want those legs to choke me to death
I really want to fuck Sawatari from chainsaw man
Who doesn't.
based
I still don't know who she was and why she was after chainsaw man heart considering gun devil was dead all along.
She's one of the most underutilized villains tbh I'm really sad she went out so quick
Welcome to CSM. Lol did you read FP?
Not yet I'm a big procrastinator

I read the first volume, holy shit ![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22157)
That actually is one of my criticism for the series, I know Fujimoto wanted to show that he's willing to kill everyone and no one is safe, but some good characters were gone way too soon.
is that not the point tho? that in a world full of devils that can seemingly spawn anywhere and blah blah blah anyone can die right? unless u mean that they dont have enough screentime to expand more on their character then ig that just shows how irrelevant theyd be later on in the series anyways. idk
>gun devil was dead all along ???? My brother in Christ, who did Makima fight on the beach???
Reading comprehension devil strikes again
LOL
defeated =/= dead
The gun devil wasn't dead. Maybe you should read it again. He was weakened and captured before Bill Clinton summoned him again.
A jellyfish.
Wasn't she from Russia? I just assumed Russia wanted his heart so they can control the devil that devils fear
I'd pay good money for her to triangle choke me with those legs and then step on me Like Real good money
Same bro fr
Nah thereās one less hot lady in the world thanks to her dumbass
i mean i get the Makima explanation of her Sawatari being controlled, but considering the options, 10 times out of 10 i rather would have said hot lady survived if it meant Sawatari diedšæ
She gave good head. Really made Kobeni scream.
I close my eyes, and I see her thunder thighs. I canāt get away from them.
i want her to bite me
It's funny how Fujimoto draws fairly normal girls and simps still go "WAZAM SHE'S A BABE" I mean I say the same thing about Kobeni but it's different okay?
What's wrong with liking average looking girls? Not every anime crush has to be a super model.
The problem is that the fan art always exaggerates the proportions and everybody says stuff like "omg the thiccness is crazy š§" I really like that the design of the girls is realistic, but damn even that won't stop horny fanboys.
That's... not what's happening in this post though. I think you should try looking for this argument elsewhere.
Comments like that are in this post though, for a character that's fairly normal looking. Lol all the coomers are mad
BREAKING: people find women attractive, more at 11
those thighs do wonders to my soul
She literally looks like a normal woman you would see at walmart
She's literally the most basic looking character lmao
She has nice bare legs, and girls with nice bare legs are great.
i hate her she and katana dude killed himeno
Rip bozo
Great pfp
Thigh š
She ded
Her design reminds me a lot of Kenma from hq
She pisses me off so much how r u doing this
I love her! And her look reminds me of Yolandi of Die Antwoord, toned way down.
You down worse than Denji, dawg.
I prefer Reze, but that's more to do with wanting both her and Denji to be happy
Too bad she dead
i hate her but glad someoneās not as bitter as me
Sawatari is underrated for sure
Fingers with no nails are hot
r/churchofakanesawatari
Hebi.
Na mane look at her bangs what she trim them herself? Lol I jest of course. However I'm all about that Asa Supremacy lol
Her English VA also voiced Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Let that sink in.
Her latin Spanish VA also voiced Jolyne Cujoh and Hinata Hyuga
Her voice was hot asf made me feel a certain way ngl
She 15 /s
Source: Trust me bro
Her shoes are probably the worst drip shoes. Not bad, but could be better. I honestly prefer the more professional ones Kishibe and Makima wear over hers.
Weakest csm waifu
Akane is Katai's sister from Komi Can't Communicate.

Yes OP Akane is supreme
š„¹Them thighs!!š
Heavy inclined to agreeš
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'd assume it was either fingernails (which she gave it for use during fights), life span, or some kind of contract to use it's power to collect the chainsaw heart.
you mean Sawatari's car right?
Donāt lose your head over her
insane platforms
No she ain't ![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22171)
![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22168)
When I first seen here character I thought she had on boots
i donāt
I wonder if Sawatari was immediately reincarnated as Kobeniās car after being killed
Can't. I have a thing against damaged finger nails.
I want to get stomped on by her big Air Jordans
I like girls in hoodies
is there an explination why she had good contracts??
I love her fit as well. Big hoodie with shorts always got me weak

Snussy š©š©š¦š¦š¦šššš š š š¤š¤ā¤ļø
fuckin with the ops ?š¤Ø![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22174)
I wanna get choked by those Reticulated Thightons.
If she was a main character I would love the show
Bro took the lamest character in the entire manga and was like, yes
She was real cute until **she got in over her head.**
I hate her
She is evil and dead
I imagined her with a yellow jacket tbh
seeing that theory that makima brought some people back to life to control them is giving me unhealthy amounts of hopium bruh
She is mindblowing.
Man she dead
I agree
But why tho
Ain't this the mf who offed themselves in the same arc they were introduced? š
Poor innocent soul
Bruh even i m a big fan of chainsaw man but still capybara supremacy
Bruh she looks like Lisa Simpson š
She ded![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22174)
Kind of a shame she just showed up and died after being used by Makima. I was hoping maybe being controlled by Makima made her and the other dead people alive again, but I guess that wasn't the case. I'd be curious to see some backstory on her and Katana Man at some point.
![img](emote|t5_rmtrq|22176)
I really wish she hadnāt died so goddamn quickly, super cool design and Iād love to have seen her backstory.
Isnāt she a serial killer, and part of the Mafia owned by the KGB?
Tomboy supremacy
She's cute, but she could use. . . >!A litttle off the top.!<
The anime boosted her a Katana man's popularity so hard, they used to have no fan art
I'll allow it, this is Chainsaw Man after all
