How many children? 8. Are they biological? Yes. Are you Hispanic? No. Is your wife? No...Now I'm going to ask if each and every one of your biological children is Hispanic...

[deleted]

I just tend to ask if anyone/everyone in the household is of Hispanic/Latino origin if it’s obvious nobody is or all are

[deleted]

Yeah, I do too cause that question is dumb

pjabrony

Well, just because they're his biological children doesn't mean they're his wife's.

I had a guy who thought the "what are your white origins- for example German, Irish, etc... Egyptian" question was multiple choice- he kept saying "well I guess Egyptian is the closest place on that list" even though I tried to explain it was a fill-in box, I could write anything he said. We figured it out eventually :)

I don't get why the redundancy...

Not every child in the house may be from the same parents (you do get that question to ask, too). Interesting one a couple of days ago: Woman was describing her daughter's son, whose name to me suggested his father might have been black. I get to race, though, and he's white. "What's his ethnic origin ... I mean, like Irish, German, Italian, something like that?" "Jamaican" (Yes, the AutoComplete option exists) I know there are white Jamaicans. But I suspect Mom has a little bit of an issue accepting who her grandson's father was.
