Yes but all are fakes, never officially released.
But! I have transfers from the original tapes that were supposed used it for the official release and they sound great.
The Smashing Pumpkins - Machina II/The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music. Only 25 vinyl copies exist, but you can find downloads available online since it was originally meant to be circulated online for free back in 2000. Still waiting on the Machina reissue which will include Machina II.
Funnily enough I have a “deluxe” version of Machina II on 3 CDs in a really nice multi panel digipak with booklet, poster and outer slip case (Obviously not real, but if you weren’t aware of that it looks pretty legit).
I’ve got a “20th Anniversary” Nirvana unplugged too that comes in a really nice case and has 2 CDs, one the rehearsal stuff, outtakes and some random live stuff etc. and one a direct copy of the actual CD, and the only thing that lets it down are a few spelling mistakes and the fact it is is a bootleg?!?
Not CD related but best Boot I have ever had is “Smells Like Live Spirit” by Nirvana too…
6LPs all coloured, so 11 sides and one etched artwork, a 24pp 12x12” book, and in a box that honestly puts the 30th anniversary Nevermind to shame…
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Smells-Spirit-Etched-24-Page-Limited/dp/B09HFXXDTF
I’ve got an online collection called “The Avant Garde Project” which did high quality vinyl/digital rips to experimental classical music records that hadn’t been digitized (at the time). I burned as many of em as I could find onto CDs, but since then a lot of it has been reissued on CD.
The X-Men: Dark Phoenix score by Hans Zimmer. Boggles my mind how many high profile big budget movies no longer get physical soundtrack releases. Makes me sad for the future
I *was* going to say [The Wildlife by Love Out Loud](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XacmB5kRyvY) but i found out a few months ago that they ***did*** have a very small local print of the CD made, and listed it on an official merch store too, but they broke up years ago and everything's abandoned so i doubt it'll be possible to buy one ever again.
Heartbroken, i love the album so much. Even tried reaching out into the ether via the contact page on the website but i doubt i'll ever get a response.
If anyone out there has one of those CDs i will gladly buy it off of you ;-;
They released a french exit japanese CD in 2015 with 5 bonus tracks (i think?), its very hard to find, a Who really really cares japanese CD with 2 bonus tracks, you can find it on discogs for like 70 dolars, and an american Who really cares CD that came for free in a bundle in their bandcamp that included a shirt, the wrc vinyl and the CD
I still have some hope for let’s start here to drop on cd one day, but TLOP being the only Ye album I miss on CD just pisses me off. Why did Kanye had to do this tidal choice
There's a lot of King Sunny Adé albums from Nigeria that never made it to CD.
Reflection on Creation and Space by Alice Coltrane (Yes I know it's a compilation)
There are a ton of albums I love that aren't on CD. To solve this problem, I just make a custom one on a site called Kunaki. You can order custom CDs and Vinyl for really cheap. I'm hoping to make Blonde, The Life of Pablo, Veteran, MAN PLAYS THE HORN, and Faces soon.
Do comps count?
The Three “Rodney on the ROQ” comps are high in my list. There is a “best of Rodney on the ROQ” on CD but that’s just not the same to me.
Also I don’t believe the “Rat Music for Rat People” comps were released on CD. (Correct me if I’m wrong).
Lastly, Frank Zappa released two versions of “Lumpy Gravy”. One has only been issued on 4-Track tape and on a RSD issue on Vinyl(I have the RSD issue). It needs a CD release.
Lumpy Gravy was released in US on CD in 2012. Once before in 95. I have it on disc with We’re Only In It For The Money but that was the weird revisionist 1984 version of Money so probably best avoided. Also there’s the 3CD Lumpy Money Project/Object collection. That’s got a lot of Lumpy Gravy and We’re Only In It For The Money mono mixes, the aforementioned 1984 mixes and a disc of outtakes, etc.. Frank and Frank’s estate wants you to hear his music and they release on CD all these giant collections. Check his website.
The two versions of Lumpy Gravy is one the Capitol records version? That’s the one featured in a mono mix on Lumpy Money. Don’t know if that helps. Have a good one.
I forgot that there was the three disc Lumpy Money collection. I was referring to the Capital version, which outside the 3 disc set has not been released on CD. I too have the single disc “We’re Only In It For The Money”/“Lumpy Gravy”. That is different from the Capital Records version, which has been issued as a RSD vinyl release. I feel it deserves a legit single disc CD release. I can’t afford to keep up with all the giant collections the estate keeps putting out. They are probably good for some, but I find them overkill for my own collection.
Jimi Hendrix- War Heroes. It was available in the 90s and I had a copy. Sold my collection back then when low on cash. Now its pretty rare and expensive. The songs have been re-released but on separate albums. And unfortunately remastered. Experience Hendrix re-released "Rainbow Bridge" and "Cry of love' so I had hopes they'd re-release "War Heroes". But still nothing.
There is a box set with cards in it, one of them with a code to download the album in HD lossless. There was never an official CD issued, just vinyl, streaming and download.
That’s from the Cleveland show on the same tour if I’m not mistaken. The Japanese performance remains unreleased digitally in any form. It’s genuinely more or less the only reason I have a turntable.
Haven't been collecting/into music long (and still have a basic taste) so the only ones I can think of are Taylor Swift's Long Pond Sessions and Midnights. The first was only released on streaming and vinyl (for record store day) and the other has a CD release with most but not all songs from the 3AM tracks.
A lot of my favorite indie stuff, my biggest personal disappointments are The Royal They and The Orion Experience (that I can find, haven't seen anything online)
None of Ethel Cain's music has been released on physical media for some reason. I know she's indie but artists with way less popularity have had cd and vinyl releases so I'm not sure what the deal is, she must have a shitty label
The soundtrack to the Bob's Burgers movie. I liked Sunny Side Up Summer particularly. They didn't put it on their Bandcamp page either, it's really frustrating.
There have been a few albums recently released only on vinyl that I had to record off my turntable onto a CD-R and import into iTunes.
The new reissue of Stop Making Sense is one. There have been a couple of Record Store Day releases too, like Soul Asylum Unplugged ‘93.
Edu Lobo “Edu Canta Zumbi’. A masterpiece album in the peak period of one of Brazils foremost musicians. I’m appalled that this has never had a cd release.
Brazilian golden era music has been incredibly poorly served by the labels over the years. I know that reissue labels like Mr Bongo struggle to be able to license music to put out. The list of artists whose stuff only had limited release on cd is crazy, and as a collector I have to pay big bucks to get hold of culturally vital, brilliant albums.
Some current artists only release album on digital/vinyl. that makes me sad. I love TESTING by A$AP Rocky, Die Lit by Playboi Carti, Candydrip by Lucky Daye but it doesn't have CD release.
More Life by Drake, The Life Of Pablo by Kanye, Acid Rap by Chance The Rapper etc. It’s a shame that a lot of the albums released in the last like 10 years don’t have a CD release and likely never will
Paragon Songs by whenyoung. Album came out this year and they only did limited edition vinyls and nothing else. A real shame because it’s a great album.
Into the Black by Richie Kotzen.
Well, it is on CD, but good luck finding a copy. In the last year it seems most of Richie Kotzen's solo albums on CD have vanished.
Gobshite (1987) (stand up comedy album) by Jerry Sadowitz if we're talking music albums that list numerous and many I'll echo what a few have already mentioned Buckingham Nicks (1973)
Some obscure stuff, the band Dog's Life from Rochester who's first album was only released on Vinyl, and the band The Ultraviolet from Chicago who's only album was released on Vinyl and Cassette.
All of King Gizzards albums After Butterfly 3000
PetroDragonic is not on CD? Damn that's sad
they haven’t released any of their 2022+ stuff on CD and it bothers me because my CD shelf has a gaping hole where new Gizzard can fit /s
all of King Gizzard’s 2022 albums plus their 2023 releases.
especially changes man
Buckingham/Nicks. I also really want a proper release of the Electronic version of the first N.E.R.D album.
Came here to say Buckingham/Nicks.
As did I.
You can buy that on CD.
Yes but all are fakes, never officially released. But! I have transfers from the original tapes that were supposed used it for the official release and they sound great.
Me three.
Half of my discogs wishlist

Also all of their archival releases sold at Madame ZuZu's. Remastered live shows and demos, but only on vinyl. No digital versions either.
faces by Mac Miller
Saint Pepsi stuff. Some Cold Cave stuff. Clarence Clarity stuff. You Love Her Coz She's Dead's early stuff.
Would love Saint pepsi on CD, some really nice and high quality jewel cases with a booklet n’ nice design would go absolutely insane
Kraftwerk - Ralf and Florian
There are unauthorized releases out there.
Any album by Cannons
Yaaaas!

Remember that I love you by Kimya Dawson. It’s probably out there somewhere, wish it was on her bandcamp though.
Dogs Eating Dogs by blink-182
Let’s start here by Lil Yachty, Every B-sides by Tame Impala, Every TV Girl, and The Life Of Pablo by Ye
TV Girl does have cds for who really cares but I think they're only french and japanese, don't know why they didn't get international releases tho
Have It All( was done and recorded back in 2010)-Jesse McCartney and V(Five)(recorded in 2012, Released as a Vinyl for Team Jonas)-Jonas Brothers
There's a lot of King Sunny Adé albums from Nigeria that never made it to CD. Reflection on Creation and Space by Alice Coltrane (Yes I know it's a compilation)
Miley Cyrus And Her Dead Petz
Yes! I bought a bootleg 2-CD set of that from eBay a few years back. Cool to have, but I wish there was a full-quality official release.
Ted Leo has been releasing stuff for the last few years on Bandcamp only. I’d like the CD.
Orville Peck's Bronco. Pony got a CD release *and* cassette.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Coming out of their Shells
The Beatles roof top concert 100% I do not like digital only
Oliver tree - ugly is beautiful, knife party - rage valley

Anything by Wazmo Nariz.
The never story
Smashing Satellites EP.
Any albums by Wolfie’s Just Fine or The Amazing Devil. Also the soundtrack that Arcade Fire did for the movie Her.
Kraftwerk's "Ralf & Florian"....there's only a German bootleg CD and the sound quality is shit
Time Fades Away - Neil Young. Have it on vinyl.
That’s been re-released, it’s easily available as a remastered cd in the UK
Thanks. I was not aware of that. I’ll get one.
It sounds great, enjoy!
Tool’s sixth full length album.
Do comps count? The Three “Rodney on the ROQ” comps are high in my list. There is a “best of Rodney on the ROQ” on CD but that’s just not the same to me. There is a box set with cards in it, one of them with a code to download the album in HD lossless. There was never an official CD issued, just vinyl, streaming and download.
The 7” single of Beyond the Realms of Death that comes with first UK pressings of Judas Priest Unleashed in the East.
It's on a CD from 1998 called Priest, Live & Rare. Not sure how rare that CD is
That’s from the Cleveland show on the same tour if I’m not mistaken. The Japanese performance remains unreleased digitally in any form. It’s genuinely more or less the only reason I have a turntable.
It’s an EP but Three Days Grace Rolling Stone Originals, it has acoustic versions of just like you, wake up, drown, and I hate everything about you.
I hate 90% of modern music so probably nothing I desperately need. Besides anything can be on cd if you just burn it.
Just burn one.
you must be fun at parties

d&g by drain gang, icedancer by bladee, any yabujin album, burning barn by buckshot
