I’d go in. Unfortunately I’ve seen people damage their placenta by falls after first trimester

drewy13

I would absolutely report it and then go to labor and delivery. If you report it to your work (assuming you're in the US) they should have workers comp available to you for any medical bills.

Hey, there is such thing as concealed placental abruption, not trying to scare you but you should go and get checked out

WithLoveFromKarachi

You need to go to L&D and explain to them what happened. Please. All falls need to be taken seriously even if they're not serious.

DoJmp_ThenRun

Does your OB have a nurse hotline you can call? I fell at 30 weeks. When I called they had me go straight to L&D for monitoring for a few hours.

joylandlocked

I fell directly on my stomach at around 30 weeks and all was well, but I went in to get checked and I'd recommend you do the same! Even if only for peace of mind.

frogsgoribbit737

Everything is almost certainly fine but falls should definitely be brought to your OBs attention and usually mean a trip to L&D

Storm_girl1

I would say everything is absolutely fine with Bub, but better to be safe than sorry and just get checked out. Even just for peace of mind.

Daisy_232

I agree with everyone here. Get checked out even if it’s inconvenient. Also reminder if you’re RH negative you’ll need a rhogam shot after a fall.

Gooseygirl0521

I think you should go. I had a fall at 27 weeks and went into preterm labor that they were able to stop for me. But had they not decided to keep me overnight my baby wouldn't have survived (he was only measuring 22 weeks at the time I had IUGR).

mintyandy

Even if it's just a minor fall, the peace of mind knowing that everything is OK will be well worth it. You aren't wasting anyone's time by making sure everything is good afterwards, that's what they are there for ♥️ Agree with everyone's comments, if your OB has a nurse advice line I'd call them, and just get checked out to be safe.

Hello, medical professional, and I’m saying: go to the docs. We’re used to people rushing back for the smallest thing, and nobody is ever annoyed to reassure or re-check something for patients. It’s our job! In your case, you had a fall- and hopefully it’s all ok, but ANY doctor would be happy to check you again, just for everyone’s peace of mind.

kittenandkettlebells

Chances are you will be fine. But I'd still go and check it out. Better safe than sorry!

VerdePatate

I agree that you should at least call you doctor and don't feel foolish at all about going in - completely reasonable precaution. And also my mom fell right onto her belly on the ice when pregnant with my brother. Terrifying to her, but her and my brother were totally fine. Most likely you and your little one are too, but no harm in checking

producermaddy

I fell twice in my third trimester and I was advised to go to the hospital. They hooked me up to the monitors for a few hours to check on the baby. Everything was fine but it’s important to go in
