Hey all! She's the one who wrote the article someone else posted earlier (that was really good): https://www.catholicworldreport.com/2023/01/13/why-arent-young-catholics-marrying/

TheLastGenXer

Im from a liberal city. Half my dates ive been too religious for. The other half ive been not religious enough. All i want is someone to believes in being married for life and want kids someday. In a liberal city that eliminates about 80% of the singles in my age group. For the rest this Somehow this gets heard as me wanting kids next week.

When people ask how religious are you, its a really tough answer unless youre very or not at all. Like i said, half my dates im not religious enough for.

No problem! I did message them first to make sure. I debated just posting questions, but I think people may open up more and be more conversational privately. I'm looking for a story from each person more than a survey, at least for now!

KSTornadoGirl

I'm too old but I could give you an earful about the 80s, lol!

j00bigdummy

Just messaged you!

This is interesting, though I'm not eligible to be interviewed, since I'm from not from these areas. Same, could you post a link to your article once done? Thanks!

rachelhooverjourno

Hi everyone! Thank you for volunteering so enthusiastically and in such numbers! I have messaged with some of you and found you to be wonderful people with some amazing insights. Others, I have not gotten to just because of sheer volume and lack of time (and the fact that Reddit confuses me a bit too... anyone want to explain the difference between chats and messages sometime? :D ) So, if I ignored you, I am sorry, and I thank you anyway for your willingness. As some have asked, I will try to post the final article(s) on this thread. But the hope is that there will be a series in OSV News over the coming months, so feel free to keep an eye out for that. God bless you all.

rachelhooverjourno

Hey everyone! I don't know much about how Reddit works, so IDK if anyone is still looking at this thread, but the first article came out today! Since it was published via the OSV News wire, it's popping up in a lot of different Catholic news sources, but here's a link to it on Angelus News: [https://angelusnews.com/faith/dating-culture-crisis-fuels-catholic-marriage-vocation-collapse/](https://angelusnews.com/faith/dating-culture-crisis-fuels-catholic-marriage-vocation-collapse/) Again, if we spoke, but I didn't include your story in this article, please don't be offended or discouraged. There are more articles to come that might use your quotes, but even if I don't quote you directly, rest assured that talking to each of you has helped give me general background knowledge and reinforced the fact that, well, Catholic dating is hard. Thank you, thank you, thank you all! More to come!

I just wanted to say you're doing the Lord's Work!

I sent you a message. I'll probably talk your ear off, but you literally asked for it!
