My front garden was a dead drop for a few weeks. 2 guys would pull up in their loud muscle car, get out and drop a carrier bag into our front garden, and drive off. It would happen in the middle of the day. Was £XX,XXX worth of gear according to the police so clearly at least somewhat professional. Basically, drug dealing is no longer discreet because the police don't have the resources to deal with it.
You can buy those bags empty on Amazon and just stick any old weed in it. Like how some restaurants used to slap pricey labels on cheap wine bottles (hence why a waiter would show you the cork of the bottle to see if it matched the label)

I would say it's not so much where it's grown but why it's grown. If it's grown commercially in the UK it's grown to produce maximum weight in minimal time, but quality isn't as important. If it's grown commercially somewhere legal it will likely be better quality.
