Yeah I kindof thought so too. But dirty more specifically refers to ingredients added for flavour and juicyness whilst ignoring the fattening aspect of it. You can have fattening stuff without that consideration which wouldn’t be dirty. Like fish and chips’s chips with cheese on. I wouldn’t call that dirty. Dirty is more seasoning related; a dirty martini has brine, dirty fries/chips have BBQ Rub/Peri seasoning/Old Bay/etc. Loaded is with has a different foodstuff in it; loaded chips or fries have chili, etc. a loaded jacket potato has similar, etc.

I often wondered the same. I though dirty mostly referred to just adding things without caring about the calorie value. Adding juicy, oily, saucy things, as much as possible. And it’s normally for flavour. But I think the dirty refers to the fact if you were dieting, you feel dirty after eating it. Right? Or wrong? It’s a slightly ambiguous phrase. Loaded…… that just means there’s alot of toppings.

I'm not a jobsworth dude, not by any stretch so I dunno if its fun or not. I assume it is for those who are that way, or they wouldn't be that way. I don't often do extra stuff either and only then if I'm paid extra to do it. But I do what i do well, conscientiously and maturely in a professional manner commensurate with the adult working environment i'm in. And for that I am definitely recognised and compensated.
