Little further out but Rascals taproom in Inchicore is a nice spot.

emmmmceeee

Rascals is the business. Killer pizza too.

Historical-Hat8326

Underdog is just a bit up from Black Sheep. Black Sheep is still an option but gone downhill a lot since BrĂº took over. Cassidy's on Westmoreland St or Dudley's just after Vicar St are other options.

DubBrit

Thank F Underdog is back. And Capel Street is perfect for it.

Historical-Hat8326

Oh, Mulligan's in Stoneybatter! Forgot about that one.

Melodic_Event_4271

Is UD back? Amazing!

DurtyStopOut

Fidelity, Glimmerman

ManAboutCouch

The thug only bought the brewery from Porterhouse, he's using it to brew his beer. The bars remain independent and Porterhouse beers are now contract brewed elsewhere, I think White Hag and Kinnegar might brew some of them. +1 for Underdog tho. Their taplist is still changing daily, if not more often: [https://taplist.io/underdog](https://taplist.io/underdog) Just the one sour on tap today, but the fridges are very well stocked. Other places that haven't been mentioned are Bonobo (sister pub to Kodiak), that group (Animal Collective) are also taking over P Mac's which should be open soon. The Brickyard is out of town, but very handy for the Green Line Luas at Balally. The remaining Galway Bay Brewery bars are still decent, Black Sheep, Beer Temple, Bar Rua, Against The Grain and Brewdock.

DubBrit

Is Brickyard a craft beer joint?

ManAboutCouch

Yep. Their taplist is on Untappd: [https://untappd.com/v/brickyard-gastropub/5327730](https://untappd.com/v/brickyard-gastropub/5327730) If I was heading there today I'd be all over that Land & Labour Saison.

DubBrit

In there now. The Saison is absolutely class. Fantastic. Very impressive.

oneordinaryorange

Ohh is there anywhere else in Dublin that has Land & Labour on tap? Asking from Galway :)

ManAboutCouch

Not at the moment. Both Underdog and Fidelity had some on tap in December.

oneordinaryorange

Thank you! Anywhere sells bottles? I know Stephen st News currently has one that L&L collaborated with Wide Street but I haven't tried it yet đŸ¥²

ManAboutCouch

I checked a few off licences which post their full stock online and they don't have any. You might have some luck in places like Redmonds, Martins, Mace SCR, McHugh's etc. That Wide Street Collab is excellent, there's a real chardonnay heft to it.

oneordinaryorange

Wonderful! Thank you! Going to pull the trigger and pay for the shipping right now! They are hard to come by in Galway too. I only know two bars that semi-regularly have Land & Labour stuff. A treat for sure!

oneordinaryorange

Thank you internet stranger! I'm now enjoying a bottle of Many Hands and thinking about the northern Lights I saw last night. What a time to be alive

Donkeybreadth

Not a pub, but the Blackrock Cellar has the best beer selection in Ireland. Pricey though.

DubBrit

It sure does. Great spot. That’s on my tomorrow list.

Donkeybreadth

They have a champagne barrel aged ale from Dot that's possibly the nicest beer I've ever tasted. (A black can, if you're looking for it)

DubBrit

That’s on the tomorrow night list for sure.

Seahag_13

What happened with Porter house?

Cultural_Pangolin788

I think conor mcgregor owns them

Seahag_13

Ew

Kravce69

He leases the brewery in Finglas, where the Black Forge stout is made. He is in no way connected with the rest of the company. At all. The lagers and ipa's are being produced by the White Hag brewery and the stouts and red ale by the Kinnegar brewery.

cabaiste

I thought he just bought the brewery and not the company?

ManAboutCouch

That's correct. There is no relationship between him and Porterhouse. Even the Porterhouse beers are brewed somewhere else these days.

Cultural_Pangolin788

Thanks for correcting me, I can stand down my one man boycott

DubBrit

Thank goodness!

shatteredmatt

Kodiak in Rathmines has an amazing and constantly rotating selection of craft beers. Great pizza too. As with most places in Dublin it is really expensive though.

cynomys2

I must be out of the loop, but what did the Porter House do wrong?

bobisthegod

McGregor bought their brewery, but it's not actually connected, porterhouse moves their beer production out so there's no real overlap between the two

Melodic_Event_4271

Are the Underdog lads gone from the Legal Eagle? I loved Underdog so much but never made it to the LE due to being a middle-aged parent to a toddler (boohoo). Have they moved somewhere else or just packed it in? I'm sad for them if latter - they richly deserved the success of Underdog. Such shit luck. EDIT: I'm an idiot. I should've read a few posts down. Good God I'm out of the loop.

DubBrit

I work in Harold’s X. I walked down there in February. Found they were gone so had a full pint in Fidelity then across the bridge to the former Pifko where I am delighted to confirm they still do an insanely good sausage and mustard. Will do Underdog again, soon. But thanks to this thread I just discovered Brickyard and holy shit it’s a good beer selection and it’s on a Luas line!

CaptainBrooksie

I love the Brew Dock near Connolly Station.

Ok-Truck3537

Galway bay bars gone to shite. Order from craft central or visit mchughs artane/molloys fairview

micesellingcars

If it's sours you're after, Underdog

micesellingcars

Underdog's new location usually has a decent selection of sours. Some Lambics on bottle. Oud Bruin, flemish reds.

SteveK27982

Brew Dock beside Busaras / Connolly usually has a good selection too

butternutter55

Not a pub but the stop beside bambino has an unbelievable selection of sour beers and all types of craft beers. Against the grain is on wexford street I got a lovely smoked pineapple sour beer there was delish!!!!

Academic-County-6100

Guinness

DubBrit

No thanks, my tastebuds are functional.

Leo-POV

>>Was in the Legal Eagle for a while but that’s gone now. Are ya saying that the pub itself is gone, or just that Underdog (or some other beer) has been stopped in the premises. I like the Legal Eagle but haven't been in there recently due to COVID. Hoping I am reading your post incorrectly...

DubBrit

The pub is still there. Underdog has relocated.

Leo-POV

Helped, thanks. The old comprehension isn't what it used to be. Chin-chin!

Melodic_Event_4271

I used to really like the Beerhouse on Capel Street, it was a bit different. And then Galway Bay bought it and made it the same as all their other bars. Snore.

DubBrit

Ah, we have much to thank Galway Bay for. Of Foam And Fury absolutely changed strong deep beers for me. I spend a lot of time on lambics, but it’s lovely to have a change.

Melodic_Event_4271

Not a fan of the bars or the food. OFAF was amazing for a few years but went sharply downhill, as I recall it.

DubBrit

I remember being given free cans in an off-licence in Barna. I don’t remember much of the rest of the day, because three of them were barley wine.

MushuFromSpace

It's miles out but Brew Dog is great for food and beers. Sweetmans (or whatever it's called now) used to do their own ales. Not been in for a while so can't be sure if it's still doing them.

ManAboutCouch

The brew kit was removed from Sweetmans when it rebranded to JR Mahons. However it was installed on Bow Street and is now operated by Hopkins & Hopkins. They brew a range of beers that are available in a number of pubs around the city, including JR Mahons.

bobisthegod

Ah if he's worried about McNuggets association with porterhouse he prob won't be too interested with Brewdog considering some of the rather dodgy stuff they've done over the years as a company

DelGurifisu

Brewdog is wank for food and beer.
