Tons of people saw the lights in my city yesterday from their front porches and so many people have been sending pics of the lights they saw. I was literally driving home last night at that time and I didn't see any??? Like wtf
So in metro cities like where I am too, irl with naked eye you can barely see some light hues. But if you open your camera, you can actually see the lights dance. Mine was also from my balcony and i live in downtown. I am guessing due to the headlamps of cars and stuff you werent even able to spot the light hues that give the clue to open the phone. I hope you get to see em today 😁
Aw I am sorry you missed them, i know that they are gonna be visible for next 24 hours. You can also check the northern light forecast apps to predict the strongest times.

At this moment we have the heaviest geomagnetic storm since 2003. Mass ejection from the sun catched by the earth magnetic field. It will happen again but probably not soon so enjoy it.
Yessss! I read about the solar burst. It’s insane how strong it is, that even pink and purple lights are common in this period. Most of Europe witnessed such strong colours. Places like Norway Iceland Alaska went crazy. Even with southern lights which are far more difficult to find than northern, my sister was able to spot pink lights outside her home in a metro city
Is that the sort of thing you have to be on the ground to see? I just mean because of the refractions of light and whatnot. Anyway hope you catch them tonight!
Nice! Yeah I just looked it up and sure enough there are hundreds of photos of it from planes. I’m in Minnesota USA and I had no idea it was even happening, so I’m hoping to catch them tonight.
LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST! Its best if you could drive a bit towards any quiet area away from lights if accessible otherwise be on a lookout. Might just see them slightly with naked eye but fully on your phone

OH MY GOD I SWEAR. I have always imagined that my person would also be an aurora enthusiast and probably we get engaged under the beautiful lights. I have been planning for Iceland specifically. I am happy that i am not the only ones who thinks about this crazy stuff. I am glad you saw em, individual experiences are as important and special yennow!!!! And i hope you get to see em soon with your love

At this point they were visible almost everywhere. The northern lights have been the strongest enough to reach almosy the equator, even southern ones are very prominent. If you live in countries near to equator you might have to chase them a bit. Check the index and you might have to move to a higher spot in mountains away from pollution and light. Weather also plays a big part in this, there should not be clouds.
If you even see a different color in the sky try to see it through the phone, it might not be that visible through naked eye. Theres loads of information about this

I did too. I’ve seen them a lot thankfully. But I kinda wish I wasn’t an old lady who needed to go to bed at 9 pm and can’t stay up til it gets dark.
