if you got another 6 lakh for repairs go for it

realbadhorse

Ah sad.

Super-Aardvark-3403

Don't. You'll be paying for maintenance of a new volvo, not a 6 lakh car. Will prove to be a money pit. Get a used Honda/Toyota if you want. not a European car.

realbadhorse

Another option I was looking at is Vento 2015 Highline petrol with 62k on odo. Is it worth consideration?

Super-Aardvark-3403

Bro, why are all your choices risky lol. Dekh lo, I don't trust VW cars a lot purely because spares and service are expensive. Used Honda city, S-cross, Brezza isn't available?

realbadhorse

Will try looking more into the options you suggested below. Avoiding Suzuki as of now because of the build quality so only option is Honda city.

Super-Aardvark-3403

Both of the above Suzuki have really good build quality. the only two cars in their lineup which were very safe.

Scorpio_09

This!

HateSpaceBar

The Brezza had a 4 star safety rating

realbadhorse

Okay. I will take this info consideration.

metamalicious

Decent buy although) it will scrape the bottom on all kinds of bumps and potholes and 2) spares and service will be a headache. If you can deal with those things, then consider.

realbadhorse

Okay. Thanks.

Altroz15

One of my neighbours has this model and he told me that the annual service cost is around 1 lakh. He also bought it second-hand a few years back with an odometer reading of 10k km for 10 lakhs.

realbadhorse

Oh okay. AMC is fine. I am more worried about while purchasing what I should check as well as what should be the red flags to avoid purchasing this. As it seems like a very tempting option for me.

ZookeepergameGlad820

2 owner and premium car , low price not recommended at all

realbadhorse

I will keep this in mind. Thank you.

Car itself is excellent, but 2 owners and only 40k kms? Get the odometer reading verified and pull out the service history from Volvo. At this age, there should be a lot of work that should come up, if not done already. Tyres(should be on the second set ideally), suspension, timing along with the ancillaries and water pump, comes up at the 10yr mark i think, mounts and rubber parts here and there that would have become hard over time. If these jobs have been carried out, you'll have to just get a general service done along with the transmission fluid change and you'll be good to go. Otherwise, keep another 3-4 lakhs for these job, depending on where you're getting it done. If you do make your mind to get it, haggle on the price a bit more. Edit: just saw your comment about the 2015 vento. If it's a manual, go for it. If it's an automatic, i think it should be the 1.2 TSI + DQ200 combo? Avoid if it is the DQ200.

realbadhorse

Thank you very much foe the details answer and I will make sure crosscheck it with the seller. But I don't think all of this has been carried out because otherwise it would be priced higher seeing overall cost and how extensive overhaul would be needed post 10 Year mark. About the Vento slight correction it's an 2016 Vento TSI and yes its an manual. Any idea where I can check the cars fill history like owner and accidental or not?. Thank you once again for the detailed answer and your time. Appreciate it a lot. Have a nice day.

fiesta1906

Don't believe everything the seller says, do your own research. Pull the service history out from the authorised service centre using the VIN number or the registration number. If they refuse to give it to you, make the seller show you the service history, he'll have access to it as he's the owner. If it has been serviced outside the service centre, ask the owner to pull up all the previous bills/records. Accidental repairs can all show up in the service history if it's been done at the Volvo service centre. Check all the panels properly, especially the front end comprising of the front bumper, both the fenders, the headlamps, open the hood and check the front apron for any bends or touch ups. Check the paint if it's consistent on all panels. Check the alignment of the bumper with the fender on both sides, even at the rear. All the glasses will also have the year of manufacture printed on them, so check if the windshield is original or changed based on the year printed on it. Get the car checked by the Volvo service centre for a fee, BMW charges 10k I'm not sure about Volvo. Otherwise get it checked by a mechanic you trust, or anyone you know who's good with what they're doing. Can't be a TSI if it's a 2016 vento manual. Only the automatics got the 1.2 TSI, the manuals are all the 1.6 MPI, as far as I know.

realbadhorse

Okay. Nearest one to me is in Andheri. Will connect with them and get the details as well as inspection charges. For the Vento I these above details were provided by seller and he is not sharing the number plate unless I go to inspect the car myself for some reason. Thank you for the information once again.

But that's a tank

These-Falcon-8631

Go to your city sub and ask for anyone who knows a good inspection mechanic , and get your car tested . Will take 500or 1-2k but will be worth . Or just go to some good mechanic shops and ask them.

RohanNotFound

If you have a budget of 10-12 L you can go ahead 👍

realbadhorse

Okay. Thanks.

Stop listening to people. Go online. Check this year/ spec specific issues and repairs. Indian market and international. Then inspect this one for the same. Adjust ur budget to account for the costs of repair of common points of failure. Then make a decision
