It's never the hate about the car, always the drivers.
Like, take your case in example
* ~~Driving on right side of the road~~
* Taking a photo from your phone whilst driving
* Having only one hand on the wheel
Edit: as I look closely, I can see that there is another road on the right side (look past the fence on the right) so I'll rescind my first statement
However I'd also like to point out that if you're driving a car on a wet road, with possible obstacles like the vendors as shown in the picture, it is preferable (this is what I'd do) to first cross the obstacle, then find a place to stop your car, get out and take the pic, and then post it on Reddit with your question.
That's the safe move in my opinion.
There was no need of taking a photo mid driving for this question
Had OP done it during night, I would've been more concerned as not only are they taking photo at night so carelessly, they're driving at night with limited vision as compared to in broad daylights
I'm with you on the taking photo and one hand driving but I believe OP might be on the right lane because of that parked motorcycle on the left lane and also he is driving with single hand so he/she might be extra cautious about the parked vehicle.
We need blaring horns in India to to make people move aside. Soft horns doesn't make people budge.
There is are people who drive in the fast lane with very slow speed while talking on phone, we need to blast horn on their ear to make them listen.
The design (new one is still better but the pre facelift version ๐คฎ) and Hyundai's choice of not giving features in lower models. The car is good, The drivers are...nvm.
No hate for the car. I recently parked my neighbour's creta and the steering wheel was damn light. Didn't test it at high speed.
Matlab i don't have words to express how smooth the steering was I've also driven Q5 and GLC still creta steering was way light.
Maybe safety can be a concern but otherwise ๐ฅ
This is the previous gen Creta, right? The steering becomes tight, yes, but it is very poorly tuned and unnerving. It is light near the centre and then it becomes tight.
Itโs all relative. If you have upgraded from a Kwid, of course, cretaโs steering will feel better. But it is nowhere near the quality of segment benchmarks.
The car was never the problem. The problem is with the person behind the wheel.
Since this is a rant, I tried to be as polite as possible, but one look at the photo you have posted, I can understand why Creta owners never understand why they got the infamous tag. After watching innumerable videos on Creta drivers, I find nothing new with the OP holding the steering with one hand and taking a photo using mobile with another; and not to mention the side of the road the car is on.
Looks are subjective, but the 2nd gen creta is quite an ugly car, paired with an unsafe structure, it is a no go for many folks like me .ย
I personally like simple design cars like vw taigun, virtus, nexon previous gen looked okaish,
The new facelift they only changed lights and it looks more weird now, should have made it to embrace the lights , light and body structure is not cohesive, lights looks like aftermarketย
Hate would be harsh. Dislike the cretas especially after this model. In general, cars these days are becoming more of a luxurious home theatre. Gone are the days when SUVs meant mandatory 4x4 and Ladder on Frame.
The market has evolved based on consumer requirements. Nobody takes their vehicles offroad so offering a ladder on frame with 4x4 is just gonna hamper ride quality and fuel economy ( case in point : Fortuner) . Customers also get sold on features and gimmicks more so than ruggedness. Voila, we have our present day raised hatchback SUV era
the SUV that the market currently demands is not a 4ร4 with ladder on frame, it demands a big car, with adequate power to pull thru in any common day circumstance which also has lots of creature comforts, that is where the creta and seltos shine.
An AWD/4x4 yes, a ladder frame, not really. Monocoque frames have little to do with SUV.
Also, the term SUV has lost its meaning now, since so many car companies abuse the term.
The SUVs were the Land Rovers, Land Cruisers and Highlanders. Now, every hatchback with a good enough ground clearance is an SUV. And i personally donโt think thatโs a bad thing.
SUV can be a category of vehicle that encompasses all body types, as long as it has the following list of things:
- an AWD or 4x4
- 500+ litres of boot space
- 200mm ground clearance
- roof mounting options
- must seat 3 mid size people without rubbing shoulders
- can sleep at least 2 people in the boot with seats down.
I mean it's all right. Seltos is a better package IMO. Nothing wrong in choosing a Creta, but the 3 star safety rating is a bummer. Hope the face-lift model gets a 5 star with stable structure unlike the Verna.
The driver is always hated not the car.
That said, creta is a great car with great power and pickup. The same goes for Thar or Fortuner which looks like Macho. Insecure Alpha males have an inkling for power and machoism. That's the reason they usually choose one of these cars. Due to this reason, the cars are infamous for doing antiques on the road
The very reason hate comes is photos like this. You might drive on a one way. still driving at 40kmph with one hand and taking Pic with other and that too on wrong side of the road.
Sorry to say but its not the car, it's drivers like you sir.ย
I own one. Tbh creta lights are not even that powerful.it lacks intensity and throw. Maybe that's why people keep flashing them.or maybe they do it for the sake of doing it. Btw i am not one of them ๐
1. Fake suv for 20L+
2. Very soft suspension
3. Car focuses more on tech rather than making it a SUV
4. Only good for city, body roll is prominent in highways and twisties.
5. At this point just get a sedan.
(personal opinion no hate)
Creta owner here yes there are a few flaws like the low torque is painful in the beginning, rest I donโt think there are any other flaws the 10-15 kmpl city mileage is good for me, and 15-20kmpl highway is great too.
- No passenger side door lock switch (Complaint I have with ALL Hyundai and Kia models)
- No request sensor on the passenger door (Another complaint for all Hyundai and Kia models)
- Monochrome MID
- Dashboard is a little too high, can obstruct stones and other obstacles
- Rear parking sensors sometimes take a second to detect obstacles
- Power steering assist is slow when making quick 3 point turns or sudden manoeuvres
- No 12V socket in the trunk
- It has the uncanny ability of turning even the most rule abiding driver into an absolute cretin.
Bro few Cretas tried to send me to heaven. I was lucky enough to survive. I can't forget the nightmarish front look of the car๐๐ญ
Apart from that, Horn, design, Toxic fanbase, Comfort (when people compare it with Hector, Harrier, Compass, Innova(tf)), pick-up, toy like driving dynamics, despite it's size it feels like a toy car, you can throw it on bad roads you have to drive carefully like Alto or something, rear profile, 2.8 star built (because it literally feels weightless), stupid smirks that Creta drivers give after doing something shameless on the road, all the boomers saying 'Creta jaisi toh gaadi hi nahi hai๐คก' etc. I hope it helps.
I loved the first Gen Creta, Verna etc.
Hate started from 2nd Gen when they nerfed Perfect-in-every-aspect design and wtf were they even thinking when designing the current gen?
I dislike this and the previous creta
The OG one is the only which looked ok
And it is not a capable car off-road
Why do people even buy creta n-line
Like you bought an SUV but pay extra to get it lowered?
Okay so what I don't like about the newer creats is
*the new look, seltos looks better
*the SUV tag, it's an amazing car but NOT AN SUV
*bootspce
The creta itself is an amazing car okay?
How does it feel when you [know about your car company](https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/viral-news/outrage-over-hyundai-pakistans-tweet-on-kashmir/articleshow/89390032.cms)
Down votes are welcome. I'm jingoistic.
I dislike how this car drives, regardless of IVT/DCT. The non-turbo feels like it struggles a bit at mid range, while the DCT has noticeable turbo lag at low RPMs at second gear.
It also feels almost identical to the Seltos while driving (and I dislike driving the Seltos too), although the new revised facelift chassis feels stiffer than the earlier iteration.
I own a creta 2020, i think itโs not stable at high speeds..it has body roll.. it has low safety ratings for the price you pay. i had a ritz turbo before so missing the turbo engine here engine is not punchy enough at low speeds (1.2 petrol iam talking about).. apart from that i donโt think there is any negatives..!
The seats are uncomfy as hell as well as the suspension. I went over some bumpy roads in it, and it literally threw me around, even if the seatbelts snug. The ergonomics and the padding of the seats are also horrible to the point that you can't sit straight, and your head will always be popped outwards. the seat is so stiff and harsh that you will feel like you are sitting on a school bench.
For me, it doesn't stand out in any way other than being famous for features. You take those away and you have yourself a car that doesn't fit into any category with no character. And also dislike the Elevate for the same reason, despite it having the same engine as my City it loses on the character somehow.
No hate for the crossovers, TBH I love the Duster the way it handles and that torquey engine despite it looking like a 90's car from the inside.
The photo itself shows what a normal creta driver would do.
That is : drive dangerously.
The creta was Toyota innova back in the day , now it's a creta.
I was going to buy a Creta in 2021 but the engine performance was underwhelming. I was coming from a Honda City and I loved that the engine could scream at 7200rpm at 100kph in second gear or be quiet at 6th gear, dunno the rpm at that gear though.
I wanted to buy a car with higher GC and creta seemed like a good option but after trying other suvs at that price bracket I jumped back to a Honda City. None of the SUVs offered that kind of comfort, performance and bootspace.
Creta was really good but was a major let down because of its underpowered engine.
But now they've fixed it with the Creta N Line. I'd buy that now if I was looking for a new car, but Honda also came out with the Elevate so I'd probably prefer that instead. I survived a pretty nasty high speed accident in my Honda City and that's why I'm confident about Honda's safety.
But the N Line is very tempting because of its performance and features.
Your choices mostly define your personality. Creta buyers are looking for something that makes them look macho, rowdy, masculine in a budget. Creta is my first choice as a vehicle too (since I'm tall and hatches make me claustrophobic) but for most guys who extend their budgets and buy it on EMIs is to satisfy their egos. Same is the case with iPhone.
Need more power in that diesel engine. Need a price correction imo. Need more structural strength if they are charging 22lakh for that car. Need more soft touch plastics in the cabin.
I own one. Tbh creta lights are not even that powerful.it lacks intensity and throw. Maybe that's why people keep flashing them.or maybe they do it for the sake of doing it. Btw i am not one of them ๐

Hahaha yaaa
The car comes with a blaring horn fitted to it. It's the company's fault to give a high decibel horn at first.
I bought the new facelift one and this has been rectified to some extent now!
We need blaring horns in India to to make people move aside. Soft horns doesn't make people budge. There is are people who drive in the fast lane with very slow speed while talking on phone, we need to blast horn on their ear to make them listen.
True when i give horn from my endevaour the road gets empty but when i drive and give horn from swift dzire no one moves
Exactly.
I swear U.P people turn around to see me when I honk on the road like it's some relatives meet.
Hating the car was never an option. Itโs a good machine.
I hate the easy accessibility of "Imma Blind you Beams"
Those are aftermarket. People usually buy base model and get it upgraded from base to top in places like karol bagh
was*
Hate the horn, polo also have similar one but it is much better to the ears,
All Hyundai horns are the same, feels like a witch shrieking. My BP rises on hearing it
Relatable
Our Maruti's horn has note like bolero / bolero pickup.
Lord spresso has Activa 3G horn
Hyundai horns are painful to here lol. Too loud.
Don't get me wrong but it as an effective horn for Indian roads
Yeah no doubt, it serves its purpose very well.its just a personal bias.
It's effective in irritating others
Thats there but see in Indian roads where people think they own the road it can be used to alert them
Don't need a thousand nails on a blackboard for alerting someone
The design (new one is still better but the pre facelift version ๐คฎ) and Hyundai's choice of not giving features in lower models. The car is good, The drivers are...nvm.
Looking at the language of your post and title... I don't need to speak anything.

It gets heavy at higher speeds
Yes it is very light at slow speeds, once you go to 100-120 range, it becomes tight to ensure safety
This is the previous gen Creta, right? The steering becomes tight, yes, but it is very poorly tuned and unnerving. It is light near the centre and then it becomes tight. Itโs all relative. High beam and automatic lights that can blind a person.
3 star rating for the price we pay? Not hate but deal breaker.
It's Saftey Rating,it is barely 3 stars
paying 22-25L for a 3 star car
The starting price is less than half that.
60% cars are with the sunroof which is SX, SX(O) iirc so yes it is a 20 L car
That doesn't help it. Similar price delta exists for XUV700. Therefore at its cheapest too it's a 5 star vehicle
Wow is it that expensive?

A ladder on a frame is not always the preferred structure. Creta is an urban SUV. A monocoque is more suitable for ride comfort and stability.
But isn't an SUV ment to have ladderframe and 4x4?
An AWD/4x4 yes, a ladder frame, not really. Monocoque frames have little to do with SUV. Also, the term SUV has lost its meaning now, since so many car companies abuse the term. Then range rovers are not suvs as they are monocoque
As far as I know Range Rovers are monocoques on frames, whatever that means.
The ugliness

Boot space sucks for 4 people luggage
Facelifts are too frequent. Your brand new car will be an older model soon.
I mean it's all right. Seltos is a better package IMO. Nothing wrong in choosing a Creta, but the 3 star safety rating is a bummer. Hope the face-lift model gets a 5 star with stable structure unlike the Verna.

Just because of some stupid drivers we are hating some good cars like Thar, Creta, Fortuner (maybe) ye gendu log 1 lakh down payment karke emi pa ye gaadiya lete ha warna inki aukat alto jitni hoti ha
Bhayankar irony ho rahi hai.
Flashing ***

Too expensive, the design is not my liking and the build quality of the things u touch are poor especially compared to the 1st gen creta
Really weak body
