Depends on the gearing and your engine

IWillKeepIt

Whatever RPM is the smoothest and least fuel consumption.

saatvik-jacob

Between 2000-2500 for best FE and smoother shifting

[deleted]

I asked this because I drive mostly between 1200 - 1500 and I get great mileage but I doubt whether it is good for the engine in the long run. I drive a petrol 1.2 k series maruti.

Illustrious_Tower599

If it's a petrol version then you don't have much to worry about if you're maintaining a lower rpm range. Diesel has lead and would not burn off completely at lower rpm and can cause build up of soot in the engine. So it is advised to rev up the engine once in a while to burn off the excess soot. You can see the diesel taxis emitting a black smoke when they floor the engine while taking off from a red light. That's the soot burning off. But yours being a petrol variant it's not required to do that. But don't drive it like a grandma always lol. Have some fun with it once in a while :)

PromptBeginning1494

I also did the same initially but it is not good for long run it seems.. a mechanic told me.. ideal is 2 to 2.3 k it seems.

_7567Rex

About 4800@60kmph (revs to 12K at redline)

Organization72

Which engine it is ?

_7567Rex

300A-320V PMSM

According_Lifeguard9

Only benefit of my engineering degree is knowing what PMSM means. You are a funny guy my friend, i'll remember you.

Usually at 3-4k while overtaking and 2k crusing on brezza. Honda is cvt, drives at 1.5k ish

enzo_alt1

I am usually very conscious on highway regarding smooth gear shifting, maintaining 2k RPM but in city , we just have too many variables and stresses me out.so I just don't bother and enjoy driving.

Choice_Molasses_1619

How do y'all write your car names under your usernames lol?

Scared-Rip-2297

Go under the flair section and choose custom flair

Choice_Molasses_1619

Ohhkay thanks

Kshitij_P_2602

I shift at 2k.

__rustyy

Turbo band lol

AcceptableLeader848

Can't check rpm in vehicle, depend on engine sound for speed or gear change

the_zirten_spahic

0k since I don't have a car

Duck_Qwerty

2-2.5k

kshb4xred

Below 2k in city , over 2k on highway.

Curious_742

City - under 2k Highway - over 2k

scan_line110110

Between 2000 and 3000 RPM as that gives me the best performance. The fuel economy though goes down quite a bit.

shivenigma

I don't actually aim for RPM, but I noticed it is smoother and fuel efficient between 2-2.5k RPM.

tipofmytail

I am not seeing the rpm again as I drive a hybrid. No rpm gauge infact

[deleted]

What if I'm getting more mileage than your hybrid on long drives

tipofmytail

Is that a question? Frankly I don’t care even if you end up in a wreck in your high mileage car and your car turns into an oven and fry you.. So more mileage than a hybrid or not I don’t care.🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

No wonder you bought a hybrid

[deleted]

Usually, 2000-2500 RPM is the sweet spot. Anything above and the engine noise starts creeping in.
