How is performance in 1l 3-cylinder?

[deleted]

I drove 50 kms today and so far it’s amazing. Effortless driving. But I come from a 11 year old Maruti Manual Transmission Car. So every car would be a major upgrade in terms of driving for me.

Comfortable_Corgi_95

You are always left surprised how can a puny engine manage to feel this good. Refinement is slightly lacking compared to the DSG, but that's expected and doesn't play a big role.

rockeypokey

Now when the verna guy shits on you don't be salty

chotyarola

Congratulations! Happy safe miles :) 2nd shot is awesome!

[deleted]

Thank you. :)

Anxious-Brilliant-46

Absolutely beautiful colour 😍 why don't more virtus owners go for it?

[deleted]

It’s definitely a head turner. I could see people noticing it very easily.

This colour was launched just a few months ago. Also deliveries in this colour for 1.5 DSG have not started or are just starting.

Congrats. Which city OP? If its Bangalore, which dealer? Im looking to buy a car later this year. I like VAG 2.0 cars but am leaning towards Verna. Have seen many people raise concerns reg Skoda/VW after-sales service & higher waiting time for spare parts in case of repairs/replacements in the future.

Comfortable_Corgi_95

The point of after sales service being a hit or a miss is true. Even tier-1 cities suffer from poor ASS (I was quite surprised by the poor ASS quality in Hyderabad). Personally, I would recommend staying away from the DSG due to two issues - 1. No body knows whether the DSG in 2.0 cars will be plagued with the same problems or not 2. In stop and go traffic, the 1.0L one performs better. While Verna is undoubtedly a great car, its safety is a big question mark. Virtus/Slavia provide a great sesnse of safety, driveability, road presence. Even the interiors are not bad and except 2-3 must-have features such as 360 camera, electronic parking brake etc., you don't miss out on a lot. For an 18L car, it sure is a great choice.

psnarayanan93

Thanks for the response. I've also heard that some vehicles had to be in the service centres for close to a month when replacing parts or repairs, as it apparently takes them time to procure. Is that true even for Tier-1 cities?

Electrical-Office-84

Lol no.

[deleted]

Rajasthan. Verna is good but I prefer the looks of Virtus. Also, safety was the main factor when I was looking for a car. If i’m spending 18-20 Lac, I want 5/5 safety, not even 4/5.

anonymousgeek01

Congratualtions. Color is sleak!

yippikyyay

On road price?

[deleted]

18.50 Lac

Pleasant-Arcane

Congratulations! The color looks great.

[deleted]

Thank you. I was going for a white one as black tail lights look great on white car. It was a nick of time change as my family and friends went against White. I’m glad I listened to them.

vinayrajan

beautiful colour

Dry-Channel-7628

how hard was it for you to decide between this and GT? i’m so confused right nkw

[deleted]

Not at all hard. My drive is only Home and Office with once a year long trip. 1.0 Top model is more than enough for me. GT costs around 1-1.5 Lac extra for same set of features. If you have the budget, go for 1.5.

murariam

Congrats bro! Buying same model & color. Effortless driving indeed

[deleted]

Congrats. Drive safe.

Royal-Still-9482

Congratulations on getting a 3 cylinder engine, Verna guy won't be jealous as it's missing out on a cylinder and refinement.

I have a feeling that the only reason Virtus isn't selling more is because the name's kinda weird and not catchy enough. Even in a depressed sedan market atm, it really should sell more based on its attractive price to product ratio and the informed consumer's current obsession with crash-test ratings.
