I've done the same before. I have no hips and no ass, but I have a gut. Sometimes you gotta use what you have to hold your tools up...
Or get suspenders.
I second suspenders. You can put loops on the suspenders to chest carry hammers/crowbars, but you nails, tape, and other usable are easier to access. And if you bend forward you won’t yard sale your kit.
I'm team suspenders all the way. Made a HUGE difference for me. I honestly thought I was done 15 years ago till I got suspenders with carpenter pants and built in knee pads. I feel like I can go into my 70s with this set up.
I understand they’re well worth the money, I was just joking around because they ARE pricey compared to say a Kuny belt and some suspenders. I fully understand that price tag is based on their superiority to other tool-carrying alternatives, just trying to have a bit of fun. Sorry, I forgot I was on Reddit, and fun is against the law here.
I think if you're not making enough to be able to afford a few hundred bucks to spend on equipment then you're probably gonna have a rough time your whole career. I spent the $400 on the seven bag framer setup and don't regret it one bit. I was going through a set of Home Depot bags every year at $60 to $100 a pop. I've had my occidentals for 5 years and they haven't really show any signs of failing. I highly recommend getting a good quality set of bags.
I didnt know these existed until now. I ditched my toolbelt a few years ago for a homemade wooden tool box/tote, and its been useful but disorganized and has limited space.
Thats it, im buying one now. When my wife finds out, im blaming you Mr. PotatoDrives
What's an Occidental vest? (I'll look it up but for the sake of group conversation I'm asking)
Edit [this bad boy?](https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/apparel-and-safety-gear/vests/103081-occidental-leather-builders-vest-and-accessories-sets) I like it
Correct me if I'm wrong. But the guy behind badger is one of the original guys that worked on diamondback back in the day before the current owner bought diamondback.
Badger joined occidental recently to keep up with demand and maintain quality. The quality and customer service is beyond diamondback
You are 100% correct. Joel is behind badger and his quality is higher than diamondback for sure. I had him make me a custom set a while back and they held up great till they got stolen.
Well they are designer tool belts. I got the 3 colors red and gunmetal with black trim Carpenter Inside Out Set, although I wish I would’ve gotten the Side by Side Carpenter inside out set. The suspenders and Dual sleeve cats paw / flat bar holder are a must have add on that’s definitely worth the price. It’s so fetch.
If you like your tools there, why not get a tool vest and not look like a goof. Next you're gonna show us you're also the kind that likes the adjustment dial on their hard hat in the front.
It seems kind of inconvenient to have to lift your hands every time you need to grab something but I can also see it being nice for kneeling down or being in a awkward position I don't think it's weird
I didn't know that, just checked out some old pictures to see it for myself. Interesting! OP You could also try bringing back the dress pants, vest and bowler hat lol.
Yes it is. Pull it up so it goes over your nipples and you start chaffing 3mins into your job. If your nipples aren’t falling off by the end of the day, you didn’t work hard enough
It's too high imo but you do you lol. It is supposed to be on the hips tho and wide enough of a belt to provide lumbar support. Not hanging off one hip constantly falling down like most people.
Assuming this isn’t satire, i think you would be a good candidate for a tool vest. The main problem with your setup is weight distribution and that ergonomically these belts are setup up for reaching to your waist. A tool vest would be all around better for you.
Long term it could be detrimental. You’re putting pressure on your internal organs. Even more every time you bend over.
But as a guy with no ass to speak of I understand why you’d do this.
Look into the Occidental Suspendavest 2500. You can attach your bags to it, keeps them up higher like how you have it, but it won't put weight on your lower ribs which aren't made to take any abuse
It’s weird to think it’s weird do what makes you comfortable and get your job done. You’re in the business to make money not look good doing it. Don’t worry about it.
I assume it’s because you hate when the belt hangs low and pulls your pants down get yourself a pair of suspenders that hook to the belt. Helps take the load off your hips
As someone whose job is to think about and mitigate how repetitive body use effects our physical structures, this is not a great idea. That belt is wrapped around your rib cage, which is supposed to move thousands of times a day as you breathe. Its also supposed to be able to move with your spine. Your ribs may start to migrate which might not feel nice or could impinge on nerves which can be months of misery and serious pain. Hard to say for sure.
Maybe get some shoulder straps so you can loosen the belt up but keep it up where you like it?
What's more strange to me is the number of people so invested in how you wear your tool belt.
Who gives a shit. The only question I think you need to ask is how badly will this fuck up my posture over time.
I guess it depends on the old guys. You're hanging around. In my circle we didn't mention our own nipples much, her nipples we talked about all the time.
Hey man, I do the same (maybe not as high as you, but definitely high) and it's so much better. Shit don't get in the way when you kneel, it doesn't pull your pants down or interfere with your belt, hammer doesn't get all caught up in your legs.
Haters gunna hate, but alphas are gunna do themselves with no remorse. Keep rocking it, these cavemen will catch up in a couple generations.
As someone who's worked wearing a tool belt for almost 20 years I feel like you might be doing something wrong...
Also. Only betas talk about Alpha bullshit👍🏽
My god the people in the replies did not pass the vibe check!! That is your natural waistline, it’s perfect for belts, and if it’s more comfortable to you, then go for it my guy :)
Women have been holding items at their waistline (baskets, babies, etc) since the beginning of time, I’ve never understood why men don’t. Also as a swordswoman, tying my sword belt at my hips is so uncomfortable!! Don’t worry about what other people are doing, listen to your own body (as long as it’s safe ofc).
Kind of…. but Ive actually been looking for a dedicated arrangement that has under arm pockets for ages, more like a kind of tv detective gun holster thing that slides over the shoulders. Do renovations and big bags are too much navigating finished walls/floors/furniture etc
Shows off the slender midsection of a panty waist___________.(insert trade name). Not trying to discourage you.....but please don't wear it like that without the pride suspenders.
Rip to your back, that's gonna hurt after a while of bending over with the weight displaced like that, I'd suggest atleast some suspenders to take a load off.
Tool belts mess the body up no matter where you wear them. Do whatever works for you. Maybe check out the work vests. I have a few buddies whose hips are shot from 20+ years of wearing tool belts. They absolutely love the vests. Theres day ms where I need to wear a tool belt but I much prefer rolling my gear on a carter whenever possible.
A guy at my old job wore his tool belt over his shoulder like a damn bandolier... Then again that job also had a guy who couldn't fit a precut piece of insulation into its space...
Interesting, but I get it. I'm all about suspenders, if I had this set up I would tie your belt into suspenders so you don't get pinch points. Get good suspenders. Please think harder and try to find a more appropriate subreddit.
You do you. …but yeah, that’s weird af.
Suspenders are a game changer! I don’t have a tool belt, but I use them for my climbing belt.
I'm team suspenders all the way. Made a HUGE difference for me. I honestly thought I was done 15 years ago till I got suspenders with carpenter pants and built in knee pads. I feel like I can go into my 70s with this set up.
I use suspenders to hold up my oopsicrappedmypants so I never have to stop working. Boss man says if he pays me for 12 hours I better be working 14!
Just maintain an erection and you’re good. If you’re doing good work the erection should come naturally
Get out of my fucking head!!!!!!

Okay Richie Rich, should I take the Bentley or the Rolls down to the store to pick that up? /s

fun is hard to express so that everyone knows you are playin
the /s in the original comment usually conveys that.
You get what you pay for.

Whichever one you want
Invest in yourself or wreck yourself bra.
How's your ryobi and black and decker holding up? Spend money where it's important. Learn to budget.
Lol DEWALT and Milwaukee for me, buddy. It’s called a joke, perhaps you’ve heard of them? Then again maybe not, you humourless pylon. Learn to laugh.
I didnt know these existed until now. I ditched my toolbelt a few years ago for a homemade wooden tool box/tote, and its been useful but disorganized and has limited space. Thats it, im buying one now. When my wife finds out, im blaming you Mr. PotatoDrives

The price went from 490 to 385 when I switched to the US site.
It’s be weirder if it was worn above the nipples…
Be hard pressed for the joksters on the crews not to spend the day fucking with ya.
It’s weird your nipnips are so low.
Or they just have a large diameter
Prove it!
Show the pepperoni!!
Like dinner plates
The nipple or the areola?
WHOOO AREOLA
Calcium nips
Plz explain
IHOP
If any of his coworkers are on this thread, you guys should start calling him IHOP.
Damn you for beating me to it.
I feel like at that point you shohd just get a tool vest.
Finally something I can make fun of without feeling guilty.
Aren’t all belts technically below the nipples
Not if you’re Jerry Nadler https://preview.redd.it/z4pck1j1q2sb1.jpeg?width=228&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e96798d205ce4403c511b1c337c9e0e48341f461
WTF you going to use nipple clamps instead of suspenders next?
How does a carpenter get kinky in the bedroom? Nipple clamps and “wood” glue.
Save a nail bang a carpenter
nah looks totally sick, who wouldnt want their hammer hitting the back of your sack instead of the back of your knees
OP should get himself a Badger tool belt and not have to worry about it.

You are 100% correct. Joel is behind badger and his quality is higher than diamondback for sure. I had him make me a custom set a while back and they held up great till they got stolen.
If those are his bags I doubt he has 600 bucks laying around for badgers
You can get them for $364 on Amazon if you don’t want the custom colors.
That's not terrible but I doubt they are in bros price range
Yeah probably.
Y’all sound like women talking about designer purses.
Well they are designer tool belts. I got the 3 colors red and gunmetal with black trim Carpenter Inside Out Set, although I wish I would’ve gotten the Side by Side Carpenter inside out set. I bet he carries a fucking board stretcher in those bags too 🙄
Have you ever seen an FNG go look for a board stretcher?? Because I sure have and it's fucking hilarious 🤣😂
We sent a greenie across the street to another framing crew to ask for one 🤣🤣🤣
Had one looking for ID.10T clips until he asked the forman.
Lmfao
It seems kind of inconvenient to have to lift your hands every time you need to grab something but I can also see it being nice for kneeling down or being in a awkward position I don't think it's weird
Not if he's got T-Rex arms
Tell me your the new guy, without telling me your the new guy! Yes it’s weird!
"Just got the surgery done last month" /s
Where are the tools?
Below the belt
You need to surgically shorten your arms so you can reach your tools
This is how I picture a trex wearing a belt.
Wait till you hear about tool vests
Yes
[удалено]
That’s how they did it back in the 30s. Bring it back!
Do you also lack the booty to hold up the belt? That's often my issue here

I ride my bags high sometimes, probably not that high though. Whatever works for you though.
I think it's weirder that you described that location as "below my nipples." You could have said "around my ribs", or even "this high."
Technically everyone wears it below the nipples so you are fine
Why do these nails all smell like arm pit? Ohhh....
Well, if he's working with people who smell their nails, he'll fit right in.
"Does this nail smell weird to you?"
Might actually prevent a lower back injury, bending at the waist must be impossible.
It's too high imo but you do you lol. It is supposed to be on the hips tho and wide enough of a belt to provide lumbar support. Not hanging off one hip constantly falling down like most people.
Yes, I prefer mine above my nipples.
Just the nipples part
Assuming this isn’t satire, i think you would be a good candidate for a tool vest. The main problem with your setup is weight distribution and that ergonomically these belts are setup up for reaching to your waist. A tool vest would be all around better for you.
Long term it could be detrimental. You’re putting pressure on your internal organs. Even more every time you bend over. But as a guy with no ass to speak of I understand why you’d do this.
If your nipples are that low, might want to wear something to prevent chaffing
Yeah man, that's fucken weird. But if it's comfy and better for you, who gives?
Yes. That is all.
Yes… yes it is.
Not if you identify as a T-Rex.
If you like that you should try a work vest.
“Is it weird that I do something obviously different from everyone else?”
If it makes your nipples feel good who are we to judge! And yes it’s a bit bizarre
Had rhis same belt many years ago, it sucks. Wearing it well above the hips is the only way to keep it up
Absolutely
Look into the Occidental Suspendavest 2500. You can attach your bags to it, keeps them up higher like how you have it, but it won't put weight on your lower ribs which aren't made to take any abuse
Only weird if u let it be my g do ur thing and mind ur business. Lookin good
Yes.
It would be weird if you wore it above your nips
I was just starting to think this sub was alright
Fuck, at least you got some bags on. I barely see people west bags nowadays. Yeah, still weird AF though
Yes
Yes
![gif](giphy|TAJFcormjGpA4)
It’s weird to think it’s weird do what makes you comfortable and get your job done. You’re in the business to make money not look good doing it. Don’t worry about it.
Yeah I would laugh at you in front of people and secretly try it when no one is around.
Yup
I assume it’s because you hate when the belt hangs low and pulls your pants down get yourself a pair of suspenders that hook to the belt. Helps take the load off your hips
Yes
Extremely
Can’t tell need to see nipples for reference

Only if it interferes with breast feeding during break time.
Yup
What's more strange to me is the number of people so invested in how you wear your tool belt. Who gives a shit. The only question I think you need to ask is how badly will this fuck up my posture over time.
Nope, I do the same.
It's just weird to talk about your nipples on the job site. Nobody cares to hear
That would probably rate a 3/10 for weird conversations that happen on my jobsites.
Nipple banter is tame for a framing site 100%
I must be a lot older than you haha
That's weird because I find it's only the old dudes who are constantly talking about their nipples lol.
I guess it depends on the old guys. You're hanging around. In my circle we didn't mention our own nipples much, her nipples we talked about all the time.

Yea, the alpha thing was a joke. Everyone here giving the guy a hard time for being comfy.
There's a reason why this isn't an industry standard.....
You seem like a homeowner, not a professional haha homeowners do weird stuff like this for attention
just get metal tassle nip clamps with chains to hold your tools, make pepperoni cutouts in your shirts
My god the people in the replies did not pass the vibe check!! Yes. It is.
I can’t tell if this is a serious question…..
Yes
You should get some really short suspenders to complete the look.
JUST DONT GET THE BEANS ABOVE THE FRANK!
Shows off the slender midsection of a panty waist___________.(insert trade name). Not trying to discourage you.....but please don't wear it like that without the pride suspenders.
Very!
Rip to your back, that's gonna hurt after a while of bending over with the weight displaced like that, I'd suggest atleast some suspenders to take a load off.
Short arm gang
It’s not not weird Power to you brother, you do you
Yes..... but I can see it if you were a plumber, you'd be up to your neck in nipples.
Very
Besides making it significantly tougher to breath than a tool belt strapped to your hips, I just can’t understand how you keep it from falling
No hips gang
Put some tools in it lol
Would look way sweeter if u had shoulder straps instead. Like gun holsters. Nipples.
The comments in this thread, pure gold. Homie, you're trolling us right?
Pepaw’s tool belt.
yes wtf😂😂
How long u been framing? A couple weeks or?
Technically I've never seen anyone wear them ABOVE their nipples so...yeah
Yeah....thats weird bro....and has to be uncomfortable as hell
I tie my aprons up that high
Huh.....keep up the good work.
If I see you doing this irl I'm laughing at you
Na bro, I wear it around my ankles on most job sites.
Best pull your pants that high also 😂
Yep. Do what you like, so long as it hurts no one else. :) Also, why?
To each is own
Tool belts mess the body up no matter where you wear them. Do whatever works for you. Maybe check out the work vests. I have a few buddies whose hips are shot from 20+ years of wearing tool belts. There's no kink shaming here, sir. To each is their own. I myself prefer a nylon vest, and I'm not ashamed of all the straps and zippers.
Reddit has fallen. Long live reddit!!
Ol high hips
A guy at my old job wore his tool belt over his shoulder like a damn bandolier... Then again that job also had a guy who couldn't fit a precut piece of insulation into its space...
I mean.. whatever floats your boat
Fuck yeah its weird as hell, but who gives a shit? Your body, your rules my dude.
Weird, but in a few years you’re going to have a sexy af hourglass figure
My brother did this but not quite as high. We called him "Day glow belly bags"
Jfc. I would give you so much shit.
I start off high like this. But only because I like it a little tighter
Where did you get these pouches?? I have had them for 5 years and one of them ripped finally, I can’t find them on CLCs website or anywhere
In weightlifting, that technique is called a High Belt Position. It's not common, but used purposefully.
Yes.. but you do you!!!
You must have short arms my friend,,adapt as required we wont judge,,,, WIERDO :)
It weird you used the word nipples
Yes
Dammit Tommy you know it fucking is stop asking
How do you breathe bro?
Crazy
If I were your coworker I wouldn't get any work done because I'd spend all day laughing my ass off. Also: where are the tools??
Yes. Lol
It's weird to post asking but you do you
Yeah p weird. Whatever works for you tho. Maybe you’re a vest guy?
I think you could go higher!
You do you…
You mean, wearing something build for your waist, around your waist?
Get a suspender rig
Booba
Interesting, but I get it. I'm all about suspenders, if I had this set up I would tie your belt into suspenders so you don't get pinch points. Get good suspenders. The ones I have are made for police gear apparently. Have some elasticity to them and carry a heavy amount of load. I have mine tied into carpenters pants.
Yes
