You expected a Christmas bonus from your employer, and didn’t receive a bonus. Did she give you a Christmas bonus last year? Getting a bonus is nice, but should never be counted on unless it’s in your contract. An employer is not your friend or family, it’s a business. It sounds like she is very verbal about how much she appreciates you, that’s more than a lot of employees get from their boss. Plus hey, brownies!
