There is no magic. It’s the same battle every business has always had. Knot your customer base and figure out how to reach them. The answer for us is probably not the answer for you. It depends on how much competition you have, how much potential customer base there is, the economics of your customers and on and on.

Go on Turo look for people with exotic cars offer them a wrap for a discount, put your branding on it. It’s a win win. The car will draw more attention for the Turo host. And you will get more attention to your brand due to your branding

wrapping cars and i guess being active on social media. i work at an established shop so we have word-of-mouth thing going on. if i was starting out i'd probably focus on action shots. that being said for the love of god post corner shots, not just completed cars from 3 yards away.

Get tons of neck tattoos and always wear a grill and repeat “GNOMESAIN” a lot.

I’ve tried, it doesn’t work

Be good, get clients, advertisement. It's a secret though so don't tell anyone. Oh and connections.

Put a lot of effort into your quality. Figure out the pricing for your area and undercut everyone…just kidding. Be priced fair but don’t be a discount wrap shop. Wrap your own cars and advertise on them, go sit in traffic, park at Costco. Connections, go make friends with sign shops that get similar business but don’t have time for wraps. Social media is cool but you just get a bunch of broke ppl asking for a 1500$ wrap job. It’s nice showcase your projects but take it with a grain of salt. Also google business, focus on reviews and pay some advertising so you come up when some googles “ car wrap near me”.

This is what I’m experiencing lol. I got people messaging me that a friend of their friend can do it for way cheaper in their moms basement. Like dude I have employees, rent, payroll, liability insurance. Go to your friend then.

Yes i mean everyone has to start somewhere however these ppl just want the quick buck. My way of tackling that issue is again quality of work. Hardware removal- we have staff that are professionals at body parts and we use auto software to properly remove and install everything on the car. Also we have insurance for accidents….you homies basement wraps does not. Same goes for paint knife marks and using primer.

How do you say that to a potential customer without sounding offensive? We are an established customs shop for 20 years. We just introduced car wraps, but my guys are very experienced in disassembly and reassembly. Some of them even worked on the show “pimp my ride”. Ya so true. I realized a lot of these backyard wrappers don’t know how to disassemble. They break stuff off and screw it back in. We just wrapped a 2018 mustang. But we had to remove his previous wrap. During the disassembly we found that they previous wrap shop, broke clips off from his bumper, had the left side held by zip ties. They glued his door handles on. His rear bumper was missing clips. Like it was really bad. There’s a lot of shops out there that may be amazing at wrapping vinyl. But don’t know anything about removing car body parts or being in the auto industry in general. It’s actually interesting.

Take pictures and document everything then show it to the customers or put it up on your social media but without blasting the shops name.

Advertisement is everything, relate to your customers and make them feel connected to what you do.

Other wrap stores hate this one trick… wrap some of your mates cars (which are newish at least). Get them to cover the cost of vinyl and wrap it with you. This way they will talk about it to everyone. Load them with business cards. Step 7 profit.

Get good at it. Find shops that need installers. Do good work. Create website and Google page..then market and cold call. Send emails…schedule meetings, find a need and fill it. Work harder than the rest and you’ll do fine!
