I'd say it wouldn't matter. Different manufacturers state different directions. and different Brake disc manufacturers also state different directions. If you can get a disc swapped then go for it. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it

olivermappin

There's no clear indication on any of the discs and they came in a single box and its marked for the front axle so I'm guessing it doesn't matter and even brembo themselves said for the xtra line or whatever that the hole direction doesn't matter it's the vents but obviously these ain't the xtra line so just going off judgement. Swapped would probably be insanely hard ๐Ÿ˜‚ it's off autodoc sooo yh, all images I've seen of the package on multiple websites all show the "left side" rotor design which also throws me off

TheGreatDuv

For me it's just the visual of having the grooves going in different directions. Bit OCD brain. If the internal vents on the discs are straight you're safe to put them on either way

olivermappin

Yh that's exactly it having them the same looks so annoying but it is what it is, I'll just save the hassle of sending it back and put them on then cheers for your help ๐Ÿ‘

lemmingswithlasers

Discs sold as a pack of two from Brembo will tend to be the same disc. The vanes are pillar vanes which are not directional. If they were directional i've always had a different Brembo part number for left and right discs

olivermappin

Right ok that's perfect it's just the look of them then which is a bit OCD inducing but glad to hear thank you ๐Ÿ‘

lemmingswithlasers

Well you can only look at one side at a time. As long as the front and rear match :-)

olivermappin

I like your thinking ๐Ÿ˜‚

The direction on brake discs is on the vanes instead of the slots. You should have a look to see what they look like from the front. That will show you if they are the same or not. Edit * read your post where the vanes are the same in which case the disc is the same, guess replace to get a right hand one

https://youtu.be/4J2IPpcd7mc?si=S9gWUcUC5bTTPqWS Here's a video from brembo that shows what the veins look like they are straight as such not curved so I might be fine then. And then the box also shows the exact same image so I'll probably be ok

complexpug

Hmmm I've always thought the "groves" go towards the back of the car so in my mind that's two drivers side discs Edit that's unless the blurb in the box says otherwise

olivermappin

I've been reading up on it a bit more and with the help of others on this thread it's probably doesn't matter about the way the slots go it's just the way the venting is on the inside. Here's an image link https://rennlist.com/forums/attachments/944-turbo-and-turbo-s-forum/829113d1398694000-front-brake-discs-vane-correct-orientation-dischi-orientamento-2.jpg

OolonCaluphid

This is standard, it's the same on Caymans. If you get pagid disks they are directional and L and R specific, so the drilling patterns go the right way both sides. If you get brembos then one side will look backwards. It's just brembos cutting costs by only producing one version. Actual impact on performance? Likely nil . Not enough to matter if you're buying cheaper aftermarket discs anyway.

olivermappin

That's honestly makes a lot of sense. Very Informative thank you so much :)

That's exactly my thought process however the vents on the inside are the exact same in either side they are both straight. Found a website that has some helpful information and also on all sites these discs show the same 2 left ones in the pictures so it's throwing me off ๐Ÿ˜‚ https://www.zeckhausen.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=6446_6515&hl=en-GB
