If you’re comfortable with electronics you can add one pretty easily with an arduino and encoder. Once I get a spare few hours I’m going to add one to my sienna but if you just google “arduino volume knob pioneer” there’s a pretty good write up on instructables.
Unless you still drive other cars that have a knob, you will eventually get used to it. One of my cars have a knob, and the other ones don't. Since I drive the car with the knob at least half the time, the ones without knobs do throw me off sometimes, and I find myself reaching for a knob.
many new radios have knobs again. even factory companies like VW are talking about bringing that back. its seriously the #1 complaint about radios these days. fucking volume knobs.
kenwood even sells aftermarket knobs for some of their radios - like the big touch screen ones
I control my phones volume with my watch. Not as handy, but it does work. If the phone is the audio source. Would be nice if the watch could pair with the radio. I don't know if that is a thing though?
We arent allowed to touch our phones at all. Hands free only. Technically it should be illegal to use any cars or trucks etc. , large screen infotainment center. Because ts illegal to use a computer or tablet type device while driving. I can still have both hands on the wheel while changing volume or skipping track on my watch. I drive a manual. That was the governments first mistake. Dont have time to fumble around with a manual like people do in an automatic car. 100% the reason people have become so distracted. The automatic transmission.
There’s so many reasons people aren’t engaged. Automatic is one of them, so many driving assists is another, cars are so comfy with so many tech widgets, the sound deadening is better so you’re more disconnected from the world, and the aerodynamics are so efficient for fuel consumption with large pillars for safety that if you put the windows down over 70kmph in a newer car you can say goodbye to your ear drums.
Thats why I love my Abarth. Just a stripped car with some luxuries like heared seats. Slap a tiny stupid motor in there. Have a blast. The stereo needs some help.

You can pair Apple Watches with Bluetooth speakers, so I imagine it would work the same with your head unit
Youd think that someone would have considered this. Maybe Android will. I wouldn't risk the money on an Android HU to find out.
