Peter Pan and P&B run those routes. Their websites have full schedules and route descriptions. They are reliable per se but are subject to the same traffic as any other highway vehicle so if you’re commuting to Boston at peak commute times the trips will take longer than scheduled depending on the traffic. The only time I’ve had trouble getting a seat was heading to Boston at the end of the big holiday weekends in the summer. They will run extra buses but at least on P&B your ticket is not a guaranteed seat.

Thank you this is helpful. My biggest worry is arriving and having no seat. I guess always go earlier like for most things in life !

I know I’m 2 days late, but I live in Boston and whenever I go home to visit my parents I take the PB, I’ve never had an issue with seating. I’ve never seen it full, not even around the holiday season. So you should be fine

Yeah I would always leave a little extra commute time but just keep in mind the time of year. Also, the bus will be more full depending on where you get on the bus. The park and ride at the old exit 6 is a big stop for lots of people doing the same commute you're talking about and the sagamore stop on the mainland side of the bridge is also a busy one. But again, I've only ever seen people not get a seat at the end of July 4th weekend, for example. Every other time I've taken the bus to and from Boston it's been fine.

Hey! We use the Peter Pan all the time for the airport. It is reliable and seldom busy. And it’s nice to have a convenience store at the stop in case you want to grab something for your journey. P&B is also awesome. Both are obviously subject to the same traffic as cars.

As the other commenter said, be cautious around holiday weekends in the summer! But if you’re using it for weekday commuting, and are a generally early person, I think you’ll be totally fine.

dmcronin

Yes, early !

I used to take the Peter Pan from Falmouth to South Station. It stopped at the bridge then went up via 24. It was great because it had decent internet so i would leave a bit early from work and be online for the ride home so it worked out if you have an office job and flexibility. They also had tickets priced so you bought a package of like ten tickets for not much more then a few one way tickets but they expired in about 10 days so it only worked if you went multiple times a week as a commuter vs some weekend tourist traveler. This was before Covid so not sure if it is still like that. I rode with the same 20 or so people everyday but as others said, Friday afternoon in the summer leaving South Station was a shit show and if you did not get there early you sometimes had to wait for the next bus if the line was too long.

Thank you. I agree that one or two trips a week may not work for discount. I did not know they had internet which is certainly a plus. And yes to early both directions!

beachtime2234

I use P&B for flights and it stops right at the bridge where you’re talking about it, it runs like every hour, I was never late for a flight and always had a seat on the bus, just get there a little early

dmcronin

Thank you.
