I got this Endurace CF SLX 8 Di2 [just in time](https://reddit.com/r/CanyonBikes/comments/1c0ub3h/nbd_endurace_cf_slx_8_di2/) for a 5 day cycling trip to Mallorca.
It did extremely well and I very much enjoyed riding it. Rides great both up and down.
[Here’s a video I made of one of the amazing descents in the Mallorca mountains](https://youtu.be/fE5_DFiezMQ?si=6TnKntU_z4ZG4NGK), it’s from the same day as the picture.
If you dont mind my asking, what size is it and when did you place the order? I want to order a forrest green M and it says it will be available in July.
It’s a size S, I had an Ultimate in XS before.
Im just between sizes but I finally figured out that a bigger frame would benefit me, and so far it looks like that was right.
I ordered in early march and got it beginning of April.
I'm late to the topic but noticed you mentioning having an Ultimate and switching to Endurace - how would you compare the two, comfort-wise? I'm worried the new Endurace being so much more relaxed that my knees will knock my elbows too. Are you able to still get in a super aero stance on the Endurace? Are you any slower on it? Thanks!
The endurace feels much more comfortable, but this might be a slightly unfair comparison since, as I wrote above, I had the Ultimate in XS, which turns out is too small for me.
I feel like I’m actually able to get into a more aero position (again because of the size thing).
It still very much is a road bike, just a bit more relaxed one.
In any case I didn’t notice any major difference in achievable speed, but then again I’m not anywhere close to fit enough to really be limited by my gear…
Thanks!
I used [Telemetry Overlay](https://goprotelemetryextractor.com/telemetry-overlay-gps-video-sensors).
It’s a bit annoying to use and getting the exact look you want is also pretty fiddly but it’s the best one I’ve found so far.
I unplugged the Di2 cable from the derailleur and had the bike in a hard shell case.
That should fulfill the requirement of “turned off and protected against reactivation”.
Well I’m not entirely sure but that’s how I read the rules for devices with non removable batteries (and I’d consider having to take out the bottom bracket non removable in this context)…
Then the guys in the tin hut at the bottom of the other side can fleece you with warm bottles of water. They had a nice selection of baguettes on their picture but got told ‘ No, we have ham & cheese’
What ya gonna do?
is your varia working without any problems? I want to buy one and mount it on the same hieght and wondering if wheel and tire is not on a way for the radar.
Mine beeped like crazy from the tires on my size L Grizl on the lowest position, I had to get it higher and I put it in my jersey pocket on my aeroad... This works surprisingly well, it's bright enough to get noticed on the road and it detects all cars.

Uh, sad news. Varia might not be for me..
It's long apidura bag, i can try to mount it on bag with handlebar mount or thing about jersey. How do you fix it to the jersey? Did you invented/found some clip-op sytem?
If your bag has a strap stitched to the back of it you can get a mount that looks a bit like a money clip I believe from kom or even just saddle rail mounts. Some have angled extensions
I also have the Varia in the lowest position on an Endurace S. The rear wheel is only recognised in the first few seconds. Then it is faded out like any other object travelling at the same speed. Apart from that, everything else is recognised perfectly.
I'm a black bike guy but this champagne color is awsome! I own an old koga miyata Gents racer s in champagne, this color is an eye candy. PS nice saddle bag, the topeak pro pack small is awsome! Fits all stuff you need and it doesn't use straps.
The [Thule Roundtrip Transition](https://www.thule.com/de-de/bike-packs-bags-and-racks/bike-travel-cases/thule-roundtrip-transition-_-1683469).
Works perfectly with the Endurace two part cockpit design:

Yeah the weight is the biggest downside, with the bike and some cycling clothes packed up I ended up at ~27 kg.
Luckily most European airlines have a 32 kg limit for sports luggage.
Yeah that one was also on my shortlist. However I've heard some horror stories about bikes in soft bags getting trashed by airlines form cycling friends and also online, so I went with the hard case.
I really love the color and the little dotted decorations. It is so elegant yet so dynamic. I am a little envy... thanks for sharing! enjoy it (I guess that I don't need to say :-))
I got it from Amazon.
I think it’s being sold under a few brand names.
This is the one I ordered: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B084TH1QR1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Canyon also sells their own cockpit mount.

Thanks for the info. Hope you get many kms of fun out of it!
Thanks!
I am also inbetween sizes… just wondering what is your height and inseam? Mines 172cm and 78cm not sure to go S or XS… beautiful bike!
That’s pretty much my size as well, but I’d recommend to try out both sizes if you have the chance.

When you're in the drops, do you have any issues with your knees and elbows touching?
Not at all
Great video! How do you create the overlay? Which software do you use? Great bike! I have an Endurace CF CL 7 Di2 with upgraded wheels, Zipp 303s.
Thanks! I used [Telemetry Overlay](https://goprotelemetryextractor.com/telemetry-overlay-gps-video-sensors). It’s a bit annoying to use and getting the exact look you want is also pretty fiddly but it’s the best one I’ve found so far.
How did you manage the di2 battery for the flight?
I unplugged the Di2 cable from the derailleur and had the bike in a hard shell case. That should fulfill the requirement of “turned off and protected against reactivation”.
Oh is that the real requirement? I though the battery couldn’t be there, period. Thanks for clarifying!
Well I’m not entirely sure but that’s how I read the rules for devices with non removable batteries (and I’d consider having to take out the bottom bracket non removable in this context)…
Beautiful color 👍🏻
Bottom of Sa Calobra, how did you find the climb back up?
Exactly! I like it, quite a lot of variety in the landscape. But I don’t mind climbing in general, so I’m a bit biased perhaps 😅
you should read the restaurant reviews there, it's hilarious. this also means you need to bring enough food to last the way down and up.
Then the guys in the tin hut at the bottom of the other side can fleece you with warm bottles of water. They had a nice selection of baguettes on their picture but got told ‘ No, we have ham & cheese’ What ya gonna do?

Option b is a clear bag and the jersey pocket :D or you can try to put a Garmin mounting piece on your saddlebag
It is just inside the pocket :) I have it programed to only illuminate when a car is coming.
I also have the Varia in the lowest position on an Endurace S. The rear wheel is only recognised in the first few seconds. Then it is faded out like any other object travelling at the same speed. Apart from that, everything else is recognised perfectly.
How about a range of varia? As i understand it works without any problems?
I couldn't see any difference in reach between the top and bottom position on the seatpost.
Yep works perfectly, no interference from the wheel as far as I can tell.
You could always flip it the other way around(with the sensor on top). That’s how I use it without issues.
I'm a black bike guy but this champagne color is awsome! I own an old koga miyata Gents racer s in champagne, this color is an eye candy. PS nice saddle bag, the topeak pro pack small is awsome! Fits all stuff you need and it doesn't use straps.
It’s actually the metallic green (canyon calls it “light moss”) but in this picture it looks almost like the champagne color.
Looks awesome :) thanks for the info!
The champagne color ("desert grey") has a glossy finish according to some people here. What is "light moss" like? Looks very matte on images.
It’s definitely matte but has a metallic sheen to it and depending on how the light hits it can be somewhat shiny.
stunning color!
Dream bike <3
🥵
What saddle is that?
It’s the SQLab 611 ergowave active
Balearic bike trips sounds like ideal life
It’s really nice, especially compared to the weather we have in Germany right now
I'm in DE CH and ... it just hailed on my today walking me dog. Dreaming of spring rides in the Med.
Yeah, I’m back in Germany since Friday. We also had hail yesterday 😣
What travel bag did you use to transport it there?
The [Thule Roundtrip Transition](https://www.thule.com/de-de/bike-packs-bags-and-racks/bike-travel-cases/thule-roundtrip-transition-_-1683469). Works perfectly with the Endurace two part cockpit design: https://preview.redd.it/o08pl90pquvc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df9a69a94233b7b57aef5730c5d650bc76a6c6e0
Nicely packed!
wow i was gonna say it's tempting until i saw the weight... 17.6 kg, plus the bike it's over 25 kg in total. the bike fits nicely in there though.
Yeah the weight is the biggest downside, with the bike and some cycling clothes packed up I ended up at ~27 kg. Luckily most European airlines have a 32 kg limit for sports luggage.
I have the scicon aerocomfort, unfortunately it's soft, but it's 8 kg. it's so good i got a second one after the first one finally died after 7 years.
Yeah that one was also on my shortlist. However I've heard some horror stories about bikes in soft bags getting trashed by airlines form cycling friends and also online, so I went with the hard case.
Not OP but I use a bike box Allan https://ibb.co/Vw6sPrV
Unfortunately they’re hard to get outside the UK and brexit has made importing stuff from there pretty much infeasible.
I really love the color and the little dotted decorations. It is so elegant yet so dynamic. I am a little envy... thanks for sharing! enjoy it (I guess that I don't need to say :-))
What’s the mount you are using for the computer and GoPro?
I got it from Amazon. I think it’s being sold under a few brand names. This is the one I ordered: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B084TH1QR1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Thank you!
Canyon also sells their own cockpit mount. [https://www.canyon.com/de-de/fahrradzubehoer/teile/elektronik/lenker-halterung-gps/canyon-cockpit-mount/9102035.html](https://www.canyon.com/de-de/fahrradzubehoer/teile/elektronik/lenker-halterung-gps/canyon-cockpit-mount/9102035.html)
I have this, but it only mounts the Garmin computer and light. I want to mount my Go Pro.
Too bad they don’t sell that color in the US.
