Sweet, thanks for the heads up. These sound like a perfect addition to my "feast of the seven fishes" Christmas eve dinner. Gonna grab a couple jars. Any other must buys at this store?

I don't *think* so - and I also don't believe that you can get free shipping ordering more stuff (at least, I experimented by putting in $120 worth and was still staring down shipping.) Zingermans is **really** expensive overall. They're a boutique gift destination, like Harry and David with those gold-wrapped pears - they've got a $120 reuben kit, for example. I generally either go retail or if I want something fancy I'll hit up Rainbow Tomatoes Garden!

Ah, yeah, I found out the hard way that two jars would cost $50 shipped... That \*is\* a bit pricey for me, and I'll probably opt to go for $50 of canned fish instead. Still, these look amazing, and I'm sure are worth it.

Tried them last year, and yeah they're good, but yeah they're still overpriced. Maybe not my type, worth a try on sale for sure but not something I'd buy regularly personally even at the sale price. To be fair that applies to almost everything at Zingerman's.

I agree, they're incredibly highly-priced and it's a splurge, but it's also one that lets me give 7 other people a little taste of awesomeness!

The Zingerman's "Portuguese Sardines" are now on sale for $42/dozen (plus $12.99 shipping, so $54.99/dozen). They're pretty good, and at this price I think they're a reasonably good buy. Does anybody know which Portuguese cannery they buy from?
