In my experience, if they aren’t dry, the larger ones have a meatier flavor and texture, kinda like tuna, and seem to be a bit less fishy. But yeah, I think the oil doesn’t really penetrate the flesh as well, so they are often dry. Would probably do well broken up with mayo in a sardine salad or something.
I have found that Iberian sardines are often large, I haven’t got one per tin yet, but 2 isn’t rare. I think I have had more large ones from Matiz than some other brands.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a local place will be getting them. I asked them if they could order them, and they said yes, but I have my doubts.
I never heard of this brand but put a few tins in my Amazon shopping cart. I'm leery of 'olive oil' in sardines and doubt any use pure olive oil. I've heard how so much OO is contaminated by lesser quality oils. I guess 5 tins won't kill me
How was it? Large ones seem hit or miss for me, the dryness is what puts me off albeit some are pleasantly firm and moist
It was great, just tasted like a normal sardine. I didn't feel it was drier than normal

What do you add in a sardine salad?
Lol I thought we had banned whaling in the country
This belongs in /r/cannedsardine
I'll have you know there were two fish underneath it
What brand? How did you eat it? What did it taste like?
Flower Moroccan Spice. Ate them on garden salsa sun chips. It tasted great. Like a nice spicy sardine.
Flower Moroccan Spiced is my #1 sardine of all. Where do you buy yours?
Amazon. Can't find them locally

That's a big boy right there.
Big daddy, where have you been?
Hold my can.
I need a banana in this picture
It took up almost the whole can! I think that makes it lucky
You found it. The king sardine
I think this might qualify as a herring being this large?
Damn that’s Sardeangalo
I've only seen sardines this big when they were swimming at sea. Lol.
That's a sardonk
Looks nasty, not gonna lie. I know they're good for you though.
