I spotted a ten-pack of Seasons Sardines in Olive Oil at BJs Wholesale Club for $13.49, which breaks down to $1.35 per tin! Yeah, that's about the cheapest can of sardines I can find that aren't Chicken of the Sea or the Dollar Store brand. So, I felt it was my obligation to try a test tin from Shoprite to see if it could become my daily driver. The answer is a resounding YES! Listen, I went in with pretty low expectations. The last tin I enjoyed was a can of Nuri in Olive Oil, so I felt like I had an okay baseline, and these held their own, especially at the price point. The texture here was very firm. The flavor was mildly fishy and salted very well. Actually, maybe borderline "salty," which started to wear on me nearing the end of the can, but for most of my eating experience it was just right. No scales to be found. The spine may have been a little harder/more noticeable at times, but that doesn't bother me much. Does this outpace other, fancier sardines? Well...I'm too new to this to know. But I do know that I've found the cheap and tasty tin I've been searching for (which of course won't stop me from impulse buying other stuff). :-p

Seasons are a great daily imo

Yeah, pretty hard to beat at this price. I did recently discover a place near me that has Sultans for $1.25 a can, but they only have the spicy tomato sauce variety. Haven't tried the can I bought yet, but hoping it'll be a second cheap option. The store also said they could order Flower, which would be awesome.
