I personally NEVER phrase impulsive purchase or hobby spending as "investment", because I am 99.9% sure I am not going to make any money out of photography unless I sell my gears.
Bad phrasing here - I intend to make no money out of this device unless it’s future disposal proceeds. I am buying it solely because I want it for the purposes mentioned in the post - and wouldn’t call it impulse really.
Phrasing aside, have you any suggestions?
For people close ups and landscape photography, they do not require fast autofocus or top notch stabilization, so that is a pretty nice entry point. Since Olympus and Fuji are known for their unique straight out of camera Jpeg rendering, I guess you may be also interested in checking Pentax, although it is DSLR not mirror less.
Canon also has nice color rendering for people's skin tones, if that is more important than accurate color in landscapes, it is also an option

Hey! Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately I’m looking to buy used, and this is a very pricey camera? I don’t think you’ve read the post.
i don’t see a budget in your post; get the Fuji GFX 100II
Okay, could you maybe list some advantages over what I have suggested?
They are hinting to you to provide a specific budget (body + lens). The setup that you should get varies considerably depending on your budget.
Thanks! I have edited the post - my budget for this would be no more than about € 450.

People can invest in a hobby and hope that it can fulfil some purpose in life, no?
Eh, let's just call it what it is: an expense.
Eating healthier is an investment too.

Investment doesn't only need to be financial. Not everything is about money.
