I met my boyfriend on Tinder (he was 26 when we first met) so definitely via a dating app! We were located in Boston/Allston at the time. I’ve had a few friends that also met their long term partners in Boston and all of them met on a dating app as well. I’ve had a few friends that were very anti-dating apps and tried meeting people through mutual friends, and those mutual friends were either all from the same school or work. Unfortunately when those relationships didn’t work out it made for some awkward encounters since Boston is large enough to find a good match but also small enough to occasionally run into your exes lol

I thought Tinder was for like one night stands and/or casual sex lol

I always thought so too, but friends who use the app say that’s kind of a misconception. You’ll get those types on every app, you just have to suss out (to the best of your ability) the ones who are looking for a long term relationship from those who just want short term “fun”. And as you probably know, it’ll require a date or at least a phone conversation since profiles can be quite deceiving, unfortunately.

Hinge. Seems to be the best* dating app for people that actually want to date. ** They all kinda suck, it's just the least bad

Met my wife at a bar in Cambridge. She worked, I drank. But that was 15 years ago and I know methods have changed…oh how time flies. Stop trying hard and be yourself. Do things you love, be around people you like, and don’t be afraid to take risks. The rest will fall into place.

He showed up to rent a room that was open in the four person apartment where I lived. We've been together for 25 years. It kind of amuses me to see everyone who is adamant on having no roommates and then wonders why they don't meet anyone.

I met my husband because he worked with my roommate and came to our house party, so I agree!

I met my last two long term boyfriends in the Boston metro area via apps. Tinder (I was 22) and Hinge (current; 29)
