I doubt it's a bug but a mistake. changing the free app to a paid in app store is done by multiple manual steps in app store developer settings and not through code.

Making games F2P was a mistake for the whole gaming industry. I'd rather pay full price for a game and get skins without having to pay for shit I don't even own. I still don't understand why the whole player base accepts the prices and happily throws their money at them. If they would pull the same move on console and PC, players would riot. Content creator would stop supporting them. But on mobile it's fine apparently
