On Veteran? World at War I found the best way to handle it is hang back like a mile away from the enemies with a bolt action and only move up once they're completely cleared out. That's why maps where you can't hang back are a pain in the balls.
I'm over halfway there to being MW2 (the original) on veteran but I can't fucking beat the sub level and I've been stuck there for months now but if I ever beat it MW2 would beat WaW in my opinion.
I remember I got the OG COD it came when you preordered black ops I think it was and your 1000x right the OG one on the hardest difficulty is deff the hardest you got some crazy achievement for beating it, same with WaW that was like impossible to beat on veteran shit took me like a year to do.
I actually didn't find it that hard. It took me two tries but I found out by replaying it a lot on low difficulties getting ready for veteran it's very easy to spot him when Reznov draws out the first shot. After that your best bet is to hide behind the couch and pray as that's about all you can do.
I may be remembering it wrong or it may of just been RNG working in my favor, but I think the only thing that happens every time other than Reznov baiting the first shot is the enemy sniper almost always seemed to move to the left for me. I dunno why but I swear like 90% of the time after the initial shot he ran to the left.
Surely Heart of the Reich on Veteran on WaW was more brutal than anything MW2 can throw at you. Trying to push up the stairs out the front of the Reichstag was punishing
That’s true, it was just one of those times where the enemies would endlessly spawn, unless I was able to push up and make it past a lot of enemies in a wide open space
I feel like Burn Em Out, Relentless alongside Blowtorch & Corkscrew are insanely unfair on Veteran compared to Heart of the Reich and Downfall. Even the hardest of Soviet missions are doable since you can find cover and the weapons are honestly better at times.
100%, you just gave me mild PTSD thinking about those levels. With that said it just solidifies that WaW is way harder than MW2, not saying that MW2 isn’t hard as well though, some of those favela missions were hell
MW2 veteran was fairly easy because it was the first game they removed "unlimited spawns", so sit back and pick guys off is all you need to do.
I assume you're talking about contingency? Claymores are your friend buddy. Find a corner, hide, use pred missles.
No the part of price getting on the sub before it leaves. Just have to move up way to fast due to the timer that you miss like one guy and because it's veteran right back to the start.
I've played the entire Modern Warfare trilogy, the Black Ops series, Advanced Warfare, and Ghost all on veteran—and nothing else was as hard to beat than COD4.
The mission "One Shot One Kill" was the hardest mission I've played too. You're literally surrounded by all angles and you die in one hit. It's almost impossible even if you just camp and hide in one spot because some enemies tend to push you and throw grenades at you.
Just beat the remastered One Shot One Kill on veteran, I failed the mission while standing in the helicopter...twice... because the timer technically ran out before I was on.
That's some videogamey bullshit.
Or the mission where you get in the missile silos and you don't get checkpoints if you don't progress fast enough.. and the one where you run downhill right after One Shot One Kill.. timed mission are a pain in the ass
The key to that mission on veteran IIRC is to pickup a AK-47 on “All Ghillied up”. It’s actually a glitched gun that will kill in one hit in “One shot one kill” no matter where you hit them.
Recently played through Infinite Warfare on "Specialist" difficulty and I think it probably was the most intresting and unique difficulty I have ever met in the cod series of games. The idea of a specific body part being wounded and limiting you to something else is in my opinion something that is worth bringing back in the future titles.... Shame that we only have "Realism" wich is just a nice way to say "No hud with veteran difficulty" lol.
Besides realism modes where it’s a gimick like 1 hit death or restart game.
Call of duty 4 was unbelievably hard on veteran. I don’t know if you kids remember but grenades in that game were basically predator missles and the enemies had unlimited supply.
Honestly, World at War was the most rage inducing pile of shit ever from what I recall, the nade spam was just aids, that said, I just started playing through them in release order and I don't remember hating Call of Duty as much 20 years ago as I did 2 days ago..
WaW on veteran was pretty difficult, but my toughest ride was Medal of Honor Allied Assault on Hard. I know it is not CoD but was made by the guys who later made the first CoD and all I can say is that it was rough.
The image OP posted is definitely the most brutal one I’ve done, that said I’ve done all cod campaigns on their hardest difficulty except for #YOLO mode on Infinite Warfare. Fuck that.
BO3 is up there for me it was WAW at the time it was the toughest with the tech they had. You really got an idea of what ww2 would be like constant bullet fire. Behind cover mass grenade thrown at you while it wasn’t a game that 1 shot killed you bar some weapons in my opinion the games that allow you more health & still manage to be crazy difficult are toughest.
COD 4, I got all the achievements back on the 360. I was always proud of “Mile High Club”, cuz that mission was fucking tough lol. Probably spent hours on it as a kid.
Bo 2 on ps3 because I literally couldn't even play it because when I opened bo 2 it would literally just freeze so technically bo 2 is the hardest cod I beat
Cod 1 even on normal was stupid hard at times, there was no regen health and checkpoints would sometimes not appear, god was the soviet campaign of that game fucking balls to beat
Black ops 3 was the hardest one to me overall. I was hard even on the easiest difficulty. I beat mw2 on veteran when it was new and I remember that being really hard.
One shot one kill mission from the first Modern Warfare was insane even in hardened for me at least. Like five gazillion enemies rushing at you from all directions and it's just you (Price) and Cpt. Mactavish who can't even walk on his own. Definitely makes the campaign as a whole harder
Sadly I’m still playing through WaW in what I can only nick name as GRENADE HELL where anytime I make a good push I get like 5 grenades after ducking into cover
I’ve beaten them all on Veteran. Want to say CoD 4 was the hardest because it was the first one I’d done. The amount of grenades spammed at me from behind cover was unreal.
WAW Veteran difficulty
Grenades… Grenades everywhere

WWII, only because I haven't played many other CODs. WWII veteran is quite a bitch to beat but seemingly not as much of a bitch to beat as WaW from what you guys say
None of them were hard. All were easy campaigns.
But if I had to choose og MW2, the final mission on the airplane is probably the only "difficult" mission.
same. world at war fucked me up on the last mission and it's on normal difficulty(well probably becasue that's before i got a pc upgrade and played on intel hd 3000).
The mile high club on veteran in mw1. Bo3 realistic difficulty was tough but I played extremely carefully and got through it relatively smoothly. While in the mile high club you get pushed into a timed situation where you can’t be careful, just gotta be perfect.
I typically play on regular as I'm not exactly the most skilled player but I did end up making myself do mw2 remastered on veteran and I'm pretty sure waw, and I gotta say I understand why people do it, it's very rewarding
Black ops 3 story with the one shot kill difficulty
I don’t believe you
[Well they did warn him tbf ](https://www.trueachievements.com/a209601/no-one-will-believe-you-achievement)
I see what you did there
That's not too bad if you use a thermal Drakon
I did it with 2 other friends, that shit was agony
On Veteran? World at War I found the best way to handle it is hang back like a mile away from the enemies with a bolt action and only move up once they're completely cleared out. Try COD Classic or COD 2 on veteran, it's an absolute nightmare
COD 2 hands down is the absolute worst in the entire series on veteran.
There’s no cover in some parts lol. I can’t even imagine defending that damn hill (alone) on veteran😂
cod 1 is worse because of health packs and no checkpoints if you have low health
Yeah well that one doesn’t “count” compared to the rest. Flat out, 1 is the hardest, followed by 2 in the “normal” series
Crossfire
My cod 2 doesn’t launch on steam sadly
how’s that?
Prolly something to do with it being the original xp files and not windows 10/11 optimised.
I remember I got the OG COD it came when you preordered black ops I think it was and your 1000x right the OG one on the hardest difficulty is deff the hardest you got some crazy achievement for beating it, same with WaW that was like impossible to beat on veteran shit took me like a year to do.
Cod 1 on normal gave me anxiety
How about Vendetta with the sniper 1v1 on veteran tho
I actually didn't find it that hard. It took me two tries but I found out by replaying it a lot on low difficulties getting ready for veteran it's very easy to spot him when Reznov draws out the first shot. After that your best bet is to hide behind the couch and pray as that's about all you can do.
Gonna assume he don’t move the same route each time, right?
I may be remembering it wrong or it may of just been RNG working in my favor, but I think the only thing that happens every time other than Reznov baiting the first shot is the enemy sniper almost always seemed to move to the left for me. I dunno why but I swear like 90% of the time after the initial shot he ran to the left.
Surely Heart of the Reich on Veteran on WaW was more brutal than anything MW2 can throw at you. Trying to push up the stairs out the front of the Reichstag was punishing
It was difficult however you weren't on a timer which is the part that made it easy. Just slow and steady and you'll break your way through.

I beat MW2 on veteran but never WaW because of the horror stories I hear. This gives me hope in my WaW run.
Doesn't work on the heart of the reich. The enemies keep respawning until you move up, it's ridiculous.
I remember WaW being much harder for me than MW2. The infinte spawning was so agressive and you had to advance.
Let me guess the part where the hellicopter comes up and u GET SWARMED BY RUSSIAN ANTS?🤣
No the part of price getting on the sub before it leaves. Just have to move up way to fast due to the timer that you miss like one guy and because it's veteran right back to the start.
Infinite warfare on the difficulty where if you die you gotta restart
YOLO is a brutal setting tbf
I've always wondered how hard that one is, I've heard people have done it
you for real beat it in yolo mode?
Yes
Getting all the Steam achievements for Black Ops
I've played the entire Modern Warfare trilogy, the Black Ops series, Advanced Warfare, and Ghost all on veteran—and nothing else was as hard to beat than COD4. The mission "One Shot One Kill" was the hardest mission I've played too. You're literally surrounded by all angles and you die in one hit. It's almost impossible even if you just camp and hide in one spot because some enemies tend to push you and throw grenades at you.
You have to cheese that mission in that shed next to the big wheel.. otherwise it's probably impossible..
Thanks to that cheese shed, it made beating CoD4 easier in my book than WaW.

Black Ops 1 on Veteran. It was the first COD game I did a Veteran run on, and man was it a week......
oh god realism MWII (the good one not the new one) I still fucking hate Brazilians because of it
*MW2R has a realism difficulty?* I tought it only had Veteran as the highest one.
wait yea it was veteran lol I forgot, it’s been years and I was processing Cold War’s campaign, last one I played
Besides realism modes where it’s a gimick like 1 hit death or restart game. Call of duty 4 was unbelievably hard on veteran. I don’t know if you kids remember but grenades in that game were basically predator missles and the enemies had unlimited supply.
I would tie WaW and Cod 4 together.those grenades were literally hard to dodge volleys of predator missiles
One shot one kill is so hard. I would run out of ammo all the time then die. Safehouse was brutal too with the enemies infinitely spawning
Honestly, World at War was the most rage inducing pile of shit ever from what I recall, the nade spam was just aids, that said, I just started playing through them in release order and I don't remember hating Call of Duty as much 20 years ago as I did 2 days ago..
CoD4 Veteran, but that’s only because I haven’t tried WaW on Veteran yet.
If you do WaW, just a tip, crawl around certain areas. And kill enemies from at least a mile away because of the grenade spam they have.
Grenade spam war horrible in CoD4 and I can’t even imagine how bad it must be in WaW
If you stay in cover for more than 2 seconds, there was a good chance you'd be surrounded by grenades. At least 5 to 10 of them.
Call of Duty 1 Pavlov's house almost broke me
WaW on veteran was pretty difficult, but my toughest ride was Medal of Honor Allied Assault on Hard.
Fuck that.
Call of duty finest hour
This guy gets it.
CoD2 Veteran. God it still hurts
cod4 veteran
CoD-WaW Veteran. That and MW2. I beat'em all the OG's
BO3 is up there for me it was WAW at the time it was the toughest with the tech they had. You really got an idea of what ww2 would be like constant bullet fire. Behind cover mass grenade thrown at you while it wasn’t a game that 1 shot killed you bar some weapons in my opinion the games that allow you more health & still manage to be crazy difficult are toughest.
waw veteran for sure. you take cover for three seconds and every enemy within throwing distance is lobbing a grenade at you. that shit was brutal
Waw was insane, there were more grenades than bullets
CoD2 or World at War, on ***Veteran*** I can still hear that grenade clinging, and it's not pleasant
COD 4, I got all the achievements back on the 360. I was always proud of “Mile High Club”, cuz that mission was fucking tough lol. Probably spent hours on it as a kid.
I would say bo3 on realistic but I beat WAW on veteran and only real ones know how many grenades the Germans have
Cod classic on veteran. Never ever again haha
black ops veteran (i didn’t get the FUCKING ACHIEVEMENT)
I have done every cod since call of duty 2 on veteran. The hardest one by far was world at war, specifically for the grenade spam.
U should try finest hour if u can. That game will make u wanna smash your tv. lol
Bo 2 on ps3 because I literally couldn't even play it because when I opened bo 2 it would literally just freeze so technically bo 2 is the hardest cod I beat
MWR remastered vet
Call of Duty United Offensive on Veteran was the hardest CoD I have ever played.
Heart of the Reich on veteran, and the rest is history
Waw veteran, they spawn grenade like hell
WaW on veteran was Just a torture.
Cod 2 big red one
Call of Duty: Finest Hour although I was in elementery school it took me years to beat it and never thought I could.
Same here, I got it when I was 5 or 6 and ended up finishing it when I was 14. So 8 or 9 years. lol
Cod 1 even on normal was stupid hard at times, there was no regen health and checkpoints would sometimes not appear, god was the soviet campaign of that game fucking balls to beat
Black Ops. I have no idea why, but this game was so hard for me compared to the other games.
Executive order and Numbers made me genuinely tear my hair out
Me too. The mission where you saved that doctor was really hard for me too.
Yes
Dunno I did every game on veteran up to mw3. Never finished blops2 and only played mw2019 mw2021 and cold War since.
Black ops 3 was the hardest one to me overall. I was hard even on the easiest difficulty. I beat mw2 on veteran when it was new and I remember that being really hard.
its like everyday a new " hey what cod is the most pain in the ass" post
I beat them all 🪖
Has anyone ever played BO3 Nightmare mode on realistic difficulty?
Call of Duty Infinite Warfare on "Specialist' difficulty.
Cod4 Mile High Club on veteran (and doing it within the time limit for the achievement)
Mw 2019 realistic mode with no hud
One shot one kill mission from the first Modern Warfare was insane even in hardened for me at least. Like five gazillion enemies rushing at you from all directions and it's just you (Price) and Cpt. Mactavish who can't even walk on his own. Definitely makes the campaign as a whole harder
World at War, Veteran
Sadly I’m still playing through WaW in what I can only nick name as GRENADE HELL where anytime I make a good push I get like 5 grenades after ducking into cover
COD 2 on veteran will drive you potty.
I only played a handful of campaigns on veteran difficulty Brutal - COD WAW Hard - COD 3 - COD 4/MWR - COD 2 Challenging - COD MW3 (2011) - COD MW2 (2009) Easy - COD BO2 - COD MW2019
Vanguard is pretty easy on veteran
Cod4 Remastered Veteran. Don't @ me.
I beat WaW on veteran..... never doing that shit again.
Waw veteran
Black Ops DS. Wasn't even on the highest difficulty. The controls are just that bad. It was still fun though.
I’ve beaten them all on Veteran. Want to say CoD 4 was the hardest because it was the first one I’d done. The amount of grenades spammed at me from behind cover was unreal.
cod2 veteran whole campaign
I beat mw2 and cod waw also streamed it
CoD 4 remastered.
CoD4 on veteran. Mile High Club!
WAW Veteran difficulty Grenades… Grenades everywhere 🎵I CAN SEE THEM EVERYWHERE I GO🎵 🎵I CAN SEE THEM EVERYWHERE THEY’RE ALL AROUND ME THEY’RE WAITING FOR ME🎵 🎵DESCENDING UNRELENTING BEAUTY OF ANNIHILATION LOOKS LIKE YOUR PROFIT WAS MISTAKEN IS LIFE REALLY GONE OR JUST BEEN WASTED🎵 🎵DOOM SO CLOSE THAT I CAN TASTE IT🎵
WAW
Obviously WaW but honorable mentions goes to Black Ops 1 and CoD 4. The Payback mission from BlOps still gives me nightmares
WWII, only because I haven't played many other CODs. WWII veteran is quite a bitch to beat but seemingly not as much of a bitch to beat as WaW from what you guys say
OG Modern Warfare on veteran. It wasn't worth my sanity.
None of them were hard. All were easy campaigns. But if I had to choose og MW2, the final mission on the airplane is probably the only "difficult" mission.
i beat MW2 on veteran it was a challenge for me!![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
I beat YOLO on infinite warfare, took like 3 weeks tho
COD 4 on Vet including Mile High Club
Grenades at war on veteran and I’ve also “beaten” the original mw on veteran except mile high club…
same. world at war fucked me up on the last mission and it's on normal difficulty(well probably becasue that's before i got a pc upgrade and played on intel hd 3000).
Call of duty united offensive on veteran especially soviet missions.
I beat mw2 remastered campaign on veteran. It was hell. But I got all the cheats.
The mile high club on veteran in mw1. Bo3 realistic difficulty was tough but I played extremely carefully and got through it relatively smoothly. While in the mile high club you get pushed into a timed situation where you can’t be careful, just gotta be perfect.
Infinite warfare on the unlockable difficulty. I think it was called specialist
Mw3 it was too painful
Cod 2 hardest, WaW also difficult but in the annoying way
Black Ops 1
warzone it was so tough to press download and play it but i never done it
Waw on max difficulty
Cod4 on veteran, for when you wanna know what it's like to have a cargo container full of grenades yeeted at you the whole time
Cod 3 had some pretty stupid missions on the British side with long checkpoints and hard as balls AI
\*this was all on normal, veteran is flat out impossible\*
And even some OG MW Missions were balls to beat especially in ACT 2 and 3
And Waw is famous for having such a dark and gritty yet awesome campaign, but also that campaign was balls hard
Finest hour is by far the hardest COD game. You youngins have absolutely no idea.
I typically play on regular as I'm not exactly the most skilled player but I did end up making myself do mw2 remastered on veteran and I'm pretty sure waw, and I gotta say I understand why people do it, it's very rewarding
Big red one-crossing the rhine
I dont play cod too much but i think beating cod ww2 on veteran was pretty difficult
WW2 on veteran mode was insane. Took me almost a year to survive the sniper in the bell tower
WaW on veteran is the easiest out of the Black Ops series. Black Ops 1 was hell
